Where to begin... John was amazing from bathing to end. It's not always easy to please or feed a large group let alone an entire apartment community. We had our first annual oyster roast and it was a complete hit. My residents were talking about the food and professionalism all day the next day. John not only provided exceptional service and aesthetic but THE FOOD!! Oh my goodness the food. The roast was amazing. Delicious. John was quick with serving the food to the entire community and had MORE than plenty to take care of everyone. So much so we had ample amounts of oysters after the event was over. He was friendly in helping any first-timers shuck their oysters and making sure everyone was good. I could go on. It was quite the experience and I'd do it all over again and recommend Reeds Catering every time. Thank you for all you did John, Overture West Ashley can't wait to have you back to try your other catered specialties. - J read more

I recently had the pleasure of hiring Reeds Catering to prepare a shrimp boil at our girls' weekend beach house and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! From the moment they arrived, the professionalism and passion for their craft were evident. The seafood boil itself was nothing short of amazing. The shrimp were seasoned to perfection. The flavors were rich but not overpowering. The corn and potatoes were tender and were a great addition to the shrimp. The presentation was flawless, and the entire meal was delicious. If you're looking for a personalized dining experience at your house that's easy, fun and full of flavor, I highly recomment Chef John. I will definitely be booking with them for future events. read more

We have officially made John an honorary Norval because he felt like family from initial contact on. He arrived promptly and so well prepared and then, THEN, CAME THE FOOD. His morning text was, "these shrimp were swimming this morning" and I have never tasted a low country boil as excellent as his was. We added salads and rolls, chicken and charcuterie and EVERYTHING was amazing! Who raves about the food at a rehearsal dinner? Our crew did and still continues to talk about it. The event was at our home for 40 and I, thanks to John, enjoyed it all every bit as much as our guests. A joy to work with and a truly amazing chef, we will definitely use Reed Catering again. read more

Worked with John to cater a dinner for my wife on a girls weekend just outside of Charleston. Everyone loved it and John's enthusiasm for his craft. He did a Low Country Boil of red potatoes, corn, sausage and shrimp. Along with two salads and a rice dish. And flowers to top everything off. It was a complete turnkey event. From cooking, to presentation, to clean up; John did it all. Food was great with perfectly cooked shrimp. Highly recommend John and appreciate the fun & relaxing setting he created. read more

We had a low country boil catered in our vacation rental house and were super pleased. The food was exceptional, the presentation was superb, and the price was surprisingly affordable. He was very professional as well as providing great service- to the point he even bagged up the extra food in storage bags to allow us to put leftovers in the fridge! read more

We used John Reed for 2 back to back oyster roasts. He did an outstanding job with excellent oysters and a perfect setup. John was very responsive and helpful. He even threw in some xtra's we had not expected. Our guests were very complimentary and will use John for some of their events. Fair prices and laid back professional service. Very pleased and looking forward to having John help us again. Ted and Robyn Getsinger read more

Honestly I'd give 10 stars if I could. John was beyond amazing! He accepted our event even though it was last-minute. He was easy to get a hold of an easy to talk to. The displays he created made it apparent that he loves his career. They were beautiful and he thought of every little detail. We are so happy and already booked another date in June. If you are in need of a professional, look no further! read more

We had John come out to serve 14 guys 2 weeks in a row and he knocked it out of the park. We had steamed oysters, Edisto Point oysters and an incredible low country boil. Everything is first class from his homemade salad dressing to the cheesecake desserts. I have already recommended him to 4 other people here on Bray's Island. read more
