Broken shade
Kay W.

Meh. Not anything special. We were in town for the tennis on Daniel Island so this was a convenient location for that being only 10-15 minutes away. Shades in our room were broken. Paint scratched up in bathroom. There was a white couch in our room- Why on earth have a white couch if it will never be cleaned?? Nasty. Each room has wall A/C which is loud and noisy.

I meant to write this review much sooner, but better late than never. My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo back in August of 2022 for three nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There was a bit of a mix-up when we checked in, as they gave us a room that was already occupied. Thankfully, no one was in there at the moment, so it wasn't too awkward. Once we saw the belongings in there, we went back to the reception area and got it quickly straightened out. We stayed in a standard king. The room had cute, colorful decor, which gave it a vibrant but not overwhelming look. It had a tall cabinet that was equipped with a coffee maker, a microwave, coffee mugs and drinking glasses. The bed was comfy and I loved the large light-up mirror in the bathroom that had a built-in clock. It was very convenient for getting ready to go out. The bathroom had a walk-in shower. I would have preferred a bathtub, but it was fine. We were on an upper floor and had a nice view of the pool. The pool area is the highlight of the hotel, in my opinion. The pool itself is large, with in-pool loungers! There are palm trees alongside the pool and lighting that make the area look particularly impressive at night. There are also regular loungers and a smaller pool. It looks like it could be a hot tub, but unfortunately, it is not. In addition to the pool itself, there surrounding area has cabanas, outdoor games, and plenty of other seating options, including couches and chairs. It's truly a nice place to hang out during any part of the day. Dining was pretty good. I had eggs or crab Benedict. It was a bit overpriced, but the food was decent. Unfortunately, free breakfast is not offered. We dined outside, which was by the pool area. There is also a bar, where you can get drinks in non-breakable glassware to take over to the pool area. We really enjoyed sipping our drinks by the pool in between taking dips. Overall, we really liked this hotel and it's much more affordable than what you get in Charleston. We had split our stay between this hotel and Hotel Emeline, in Charleston. Although we liked the other hotel, we thought that Hotel Indigo definitely had better value. Also, I have a bad back and I found the bed at Indigo to be much more comfortable for me. Mount Pleasant is actually a very nice town and this hotel is close enough to the Ravenel Bridge, so that you can get to Charleston in a reasonable amount of time. Whenever we are able to go back to Charleston, we plan to stay here again.

Pool vibes

Great place to stay! Local to Shems creek and easy ride to Charleston. Clean room and amazingly comfortable bed. The pool is beautiful and made every afternoon a relaxing moment to recharge before dinner. I would definitely return

I was excited to stay at this hotel especially since it was under IHG's Luxury and Lifestyle line but it was nothing to really brag about. There was some construction going on with the elevators but they did have one that worked, thankfully. The man that checked me in was really nice and helpful. The pool area is really the start of the show. I would love to visit in the summer time because it would be a whole vibe. The rooms were just okay - very dark, poor lighting. You could tell that someone did a few rush jobs to get the hotel looking new. It would have been better if things didn't look old or in need of repair. The beds were nice and I did enjoy the shower - so there's that.

Pool being lit by lightning

Gorgeous pool area water wasn't too cold or too hot even had handicap accessibility to the pool, Beds are super comfortable, has a gym a few meeting rooms and 2 computers and copier free for guests to use when needed. give free magazines, newspapers, pamphlets of things to do, and coupons, very nice bathroom with clock on mirror showers do take a few minutes to get hot but they are nice. Coffee machine and mini fridge in room microwave is downstairs tho. A/C works VERYYYYY well. Nice tv but sometimes the channels won't load if it's storming outside. Overall great hotel very cozy and cute.

This is the kind of hotel you go to and as soon as you walk in it gives off a very warm and friendly feeling. Wide open spaces and lots of blue greet you in the lobby and the pool area is beautiful. Lots of room and chairs. The room is just as warm and inviting as the rest of the hotel too. My only knock is that my thermostat did not work, but I later learned it was because the unit was being changed out. Would have been nice to know that up front. For the price it will be hard to beat staying here as opposed to downtown. It is by far a lot cheaper and you can get to downtown area in about ten minutes, literally.

Standard room, no microwave :-(

The worst! Terrible beds. So uncomfortable I needed to see a chiropractor. Terrible housekeeping. Never once were sheets changed.

I loved the breakfast delivered every morning to the room--highly recommend the waffles with bacon and eggs benedict. The location is amazing in a cute, exclusive village surrounded by gorgeous real estate, boutiques and restaurants walking distance from the inn. The room is cozy and comfortable with the softest sheets and honestly more comfortable than my bed at home! The bathrooms are nicely updated and well-stocked with toiletries. Pure perfection.

I booked this hotel by chance since we did not want to be downtown, and I'on is close enough to Shem Creek. We arrived in the early afternoon and were greeted by Amy. I believe she was Housekeeping but seemed to wear many hats! There was a young front desk agent as well who was very pleasant. They thoroughly explained the hotel, their rules and what to expect. The office closes in the evening, so they make sure to get each guest set up for the night before they close. The whole property was a wow factor. I was in awe every time I turned a corner! The room and bathroom were stunning. The old time Charleston feel was not unnoticed. We loved the white tile bathrooms and showers, complete with cozy towels and robes. It poured for most of our weekend, but we were able to enjoy our complimentary breakfast on the balcony with some sunshine. Breakfast tasted great and was served promptly at our requested time. The room had a Keurig with plentiful K Cup options. We didn't want to check out! I won't stay anywhere else while visiting Charleston.

The location is very convenient for downtown - less than 15 minutes away, in a quiet tree lined area. Looking at the map, you would not get that impression. It is also 15 minutes away from the beach on Isle of Palms. After checking out and coming home we discovered we had left an item of value in the room. The hotel, not only found the item, (the housekeeping staff had turned it into management), but Fedexed it to us, all in a couple of days without a fuss and very efficiently. Everything was clean and fresh.

Requested high floor away from elevators and they did exactly that before I checked in. Nice touch Update. I wish I knew there would be construction happening eight next to the hotel. From 0900 on, all you can hear is a bulldozer and noise. The breakfast was probably the worst I've ever had in any Hilton chain. The eggs were wet, the potatoes were gooey and unseasoned and the sausage was rubbery. All of it went in the trash. It's bad when the best part of breakfast are hard boiled eggs.

The property offers a great island location on Isle of Palms that's only 10 minutes or less from Charleston. It's also only 10 minutes from Sullivan's Island. Access into the lot was easy and I appreciated the offering of four spaces for Diamond members. The exterior was in great shape and offers a resort feel to it. The landscaping was kept up with fresh pine straw. A sign in the corner is dated and cannot be seen from the road. The walk up was debris free, however trash was overflowing in the can outside the door. The lobby is attractive and welcoming. Check-in was simple and staff provided hotel information for my three days. A large hotel cart was appreciated and they had several of them. The double Queen was clean and prepared for my 3 PM arrival. The bath had proper supplies. The towels were in good condition. Climate was good not great, the room (324) still got a bit warm. Unfortunately the room was dated as technology plugins were sparse. Other than that the beds and pillows were comfortable. The bed sheets clean and in good condition. I received no maid service as per policy of a 3 day stay or request. I think many hotels will keep this COVID policy. I have no issue with it. My family used the free breakfast offered twice and it's their weakest area to improve. I applaud three waffle makers, but one was broken. The food was mediocre and muffins were frozen on one day. The most challenging was staff that seemed to do too little. The best parts of their breakfast was the hours 6-10 and the large space with many tables. There is an outdoor pool offered that was heated, clean and open. Chairs and tables are on the deck. My family did not partake, but others did. It's directly off the lobby. Over the few days I had pleasant interactions with the front desk male staff working in the evening. That elevated my review. Hampton Inn Isle of Palms has composite of a 4. My opinion is they deserve a weak 4, Nonetheless it was an above average experience and offered an excellent value. Furthermore Hampton Inn as a brand has not been my go to over the past 5 years, but this property delivered just fine for my family.

Giving suggestions to restaurants in the area, very friendly, and even giving us a welcome bag with snacks upon arrival. I've never been to a place more warm and inviting. We will definitely be back. This was Southern Hospitality at its finest!
