The only qualm was the frozen drinks, the blender is not doing the job lol I had to send my pina colada back to the bar. They need a frozen drink machine for better flavor and consistency. Hotel Indigo is a nice hotel with average accommodations. First impression upon arrival was this is a really nice hotel. Upon check in we asked the staff if bottled water would be available in the rooms she said no so we purchased several from the hotel beverage station. However, there was complimentary waters available in the room. Secondly, when we arrived in the room the bed wasn't made properly and the bed skirt seemed to be ill fitted. The hand soap was in the shower and the body wash was placed by the sink. Also, there was a hole in the wall near the toilet. Lastly, the food at the restaurant/ bar downstairs was delicious. We ordered lunch (bang bang shrimp & fries) and breakfast (omlette with fruit) and it was all delicious. Overall I wouldn't return. I expected better accommodations for the price. read more

Couldn't have had a worse stay. Checked in with our baby at 11:30pm with our baby after a missed flight only to find extensive mold in our bathroom at midnight. Spoke to management the next day who promised to comp the whole night and move us rooms, which was the only reason we didn't cancel the rest of our stay and move to an airBnB. Next room also had extensive moisture issues in the bathroom with bubbling ceiling drywall / paint and dripping water, but we just dealt with it. When we went to check out, management had "no notes" of comping our first mold-ridden room (of course) and only waived a $20 "resort fee." No quality and safety control, and no accountability. My aunt's room had a flooded floor and ceiling that an engineer had to look at (& said he "hadn't seen it this bad before")and they wouldn't even comp her for it. This was a nice solid hotel, especially for the price point. The convenience of the location to downtown Charleston has to be hard to beat. We stayed over just 1 night and the room was quite clean. The mini fridge had plenty of space for drinks and probably would have had plenty of space for leftovers as well. The room felt freshened up from the rebranding. The bed was comfortable and the close captions on the TV was very easy to setup as opposed to some other spots I have visited. The staff was friendly and courteous the pool looked well kept (it was too chilly to test) There were some cons of course, the heater seemed older and temperamental. If you get a room facing HWY 17 you will hear the traffic, which could make it hard to sleep in. But overall this will be on the list of places to stay when heading back to Charleston, especially if the trip is on the shorter side. read more

Overall a pleasant, value-oriented hotel close to Charleston. While it might have been fun to stay in downtown Charleston, I chose the Hotel Indigo to save a bit of money and enjoy their pool! With the summer heat, I expected to be limited from 2 to 5pm and would retreat to the pool to relax, clean up and then head back downtown. The location is one of the first stops over the Ravenel bridge so access downtown is usually 10 to 12 mins away. Parking is free and the hotel rooms are decently sized, clean and updated with shower-tub along with Keurig and fridge. Given the pool, they have a decent bar and dining room for drinks and eats while sunning. Towels are provided and there's plenty of shade around the pool along with lawn games and a kiddie pool area. Clientele is mostly young families and some younger parties. Overall I've had a decent stay and have taken advantage of their pool amenities. If you're ok with not being downtown, the Hotel Indigo is an excellent and affordable option. read more

I meant to write this review much sooner, but better late than never. My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo back in August of 2022 for three nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There was a bit of a mix-up when we checked in, as they gave us a room that was already occupied. Thankfully, no one was in there at the moment, so it wasn't too awkward. Once we saw the belongings in there, we went back to the reception area and got it quickly straightened out. We stayed in a standard king. The room had cute, colorful decor, which gave it a vibrant but not overwhelming look. It had a tall cabinet that was equipped with a coffee maker, a microwave, coffee mugs and drinking glasses. The bed was comfy and I loved the large light-up mirror in the bathroom that had a built-in clock. It was very convenient for getting ready to go out. The bathroom had a walk-in shower. I would have preferred a bathtub, but it was fine. We were on an upper floor and had a nice view of the pool. The pool area is the highlight of the hotel, in my opinion. The pool itself is large, with in-pool loungers! There are palm trees alongside the pool and lighting that make the area look particularly impressive at night. There are also regular loungers and a smaller pool. It looks like it could be a hot tub, but unfortunately, it is not. In addition to the pool itself, there surrounding area has cabanas, outdoor games, and plenty of other seating options, including couches and chairs. It's truly a nice place to hang out during any part of the day. Dining was pretty good. I had eggs or crab Benedict. It was a bit overpriced, but the food was decent. Unfortunately, free breakfast is not offered. We dined outside, which was by the pool area. There is also a bar, where you can get drinks in non-breakable glassware to take over to the pool area. We really enjoyed sipping our drinks by the pool in between taking dips. Overall, we really liked this hotel and it's much more affordable than what you get in Charleston. We had split our stay between this hotel and Hotel Emeline, in Charleston. Although we liked the other hotel, we thought that Hotel Indigo definitely had better value. Also, I have a bad back and I found the bed at Indigo to be much more comfortable for me. Mount Pleasant is actually a very nice town and this hotel is close enough to the Ravenel Bridge, so that you can get to Charleston in a reasonable amount of time. Whenever we are able to go back to Charleston, we plan to stay here again. read more

I was excited to stay at this hotel especially since it was under IHG's Luxury and Lifestyle line but it was nothing to really brag about. There was some construction going on with the elevators but they did have one that worked, thankfully. The man that checked me in was really nice and helpful. The pool area is really the start of the show. I would love to visit in the summer time because it would be a whole vibe. The rooms were just okay - very dark, poor lighting. You could tell that someone did a few rush jobs to get the hotel looking new. It would have been better if things didn't look old or in need of repair. The property is first exit off the bridge in Mt Pleasant... easy in, easy out with protected turns. Restaurant, bar, and fitness center on premises, plus a fancy pool with aqua-lounges! but daytime temps were stuck around 60 so no siesta :-( We were expecting to do a lot of touristing and snacking around town so giving up breakfast didn't seem like a big deal (lack of an in-room microwave is another story) and MLB is a fan of the bedding upgrade: firm and cushy plus better sheets. the jumbo walk-in shower makes clean up easy contributing to a better bathroom experience. read more

Let me start off by addressing some hot topics. Do the drywall and painting in the hotel rooms look like a child did it? Yes Are they the most sparkling, eat your food off the floor hotel rooms? No But seriously.. who goes to a hotel to stay within the four walls?! If you are seeking a Four Seasons, you would certainly want to find a more upscale choice. That being said, we stayed here for four nights and I don't regret it for a second. We were greeted early on our check-in day by David at the front desk who was amazing. David was so darn friendly and a total asset to the hotel! He was able to accommodate our early check-in request and got us started with lots of information. We had an ADA room and it was a little tight, and like I mentioned above not painted perfectly. But it was a clean hotel room and worked. We found several cute restaurants nearby, and we got a TON of use out of the hotel pool. It is so beautiful, spacious, and there are plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and of course- the pool loungers. It was a staple on our trip! We were waited on each morning by the sweetest ladies for breakfast. All so nice, and made sure our coffee mugs were never empty. Everything we tried for breakfast at Eliza's was delicious! Highly recommend the French toast and the eggs Benedict. This is the kind of hotel you go to and as soon as you walk in it gives off a very warm and friendly feeling. Wide open spaces and lots of blue greet you in the lobby and the pool area is beautiful. Lots of room and chairs. The room is just as warm and inviting as the rest of the hotel too. My only knock is that my thermostat did not work, but I later learned it was because the unit was being changed out. Would have been nice to know that up front. For the price it will be hard to beat staying here as opposed to downtown. It is by far a lot cheaper and you can get to downtown area in about ten minutes, literally. read more

My husband and honeymooned here and we had the absolute best time! Our room was perfect and super clean which I am a huge clean freak so it can be very hard to find clean hotels -- this one was so clean and the staff was beyond amazing! We were overly impressed with the service! Every morning after breakfast we had come back to a clean room with fresh towels without even having to ask! The pool and outdoor area was beautiful and very roomy as well as tidy & clean! Not to mention-- the hotel was in such a great location. We were just a few minutes from downtown and everything else we wanted to do. We cannot thank Hotel Indigo enough for such an amazing week and such a perfect stay. Lastly I wanted to say thank you to the General Manager Joe Giannino. We ran into him in the elevator and he was so sweet and even sent us champagne when he found out we were on our honeymoon. I booked my reservation at Hotel Indigo through Capital One points, which was super convenient. I only had one night, and I wanted to stay right near the Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Charleston so that I could get up and run on the bridge in the morning. The hotel is a short walk (or run) away from the entrance to the bridge path. The hotel lobby is clean, spacious, and stylish. The receptionist checked me in immediately. They have a snack/drink cooler at the front where you can buy adult beverages. I got a can of Rose. The room itself was so cute. I love the pink headboard and bright blue hues. The room was very clean. They provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, and makeup wipes. In the morning, there is complimentary coffee in the lobby. I noticed a seated breakfast area, but I did not get a chance to explore it. After I checked out at 11am, the receptionist said it would be fine for me to hangout in the café area or even use the pool area. I did not get to take advantage of the pool while I was there, unfortunately. Overall, this hotel is great! I think it is reasonably priced considering the chic aesthetic and nice amenities. The hotel is just over the bridge from downtown Charleston, so I think the location is quite convenient if staying downtown is too pricey. Mt. Pleasant is also a great area to check out. read more

The hotel is in a nice location, but the room left much to be desired and the staff and housekeeper were even worse. Upon checkin, I had been granted a "late checkout" that the staff had indicated could be as late as 2pm the next day, I intended to leave by noon so that sounded great. Starting at 11am that following day, the house staff began banging on the door. When I passed along the information that I had been granted a later departure time, she left, but returned 5 minutes later again asking that I leave or call the front desk. Intending to call, I searched the room for the number to call, even tried dialing 0 for a hotel operator. No number was available. At that point, I packed my bags intending to leave. The phone rang roughly 10 minutes later -- the front desk asking who had approved my late check out. I informed them that it was the individual who checked me in. They asked who that was, I gave them a general description of the man who had issued me my keys, and told them I would be gone within 5 minutes. I was gone in 3. The hotel is a disorganized mess. No information in the rooms to allow for contact with hotel staff, and clearly no communication amongst their own staff. read more

THE POWER TO MY BATHROOM WENT OUT AFTER I COMPLAINED ABOUT MY BLOW DRYER NOT WORKING, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HOTEL COULD NOT MAKE AN ACCOMMODATION FOR ME TO GET TO ANOTHER ROOM. IT SEEMS UNFAIR. Several times I asked the front desk for something and gave them my phone number and they never called me back . The front desk is completely uncompromising and in general this hotel is still a Holiday Inn that had a baby with a Holiday Inn I've stayed at these properties in Savannah and Columbus, Georgia especially Savannah. I've stayed there for over 400 nights in one year with multiple people. , and have never had it this bad I was told the restaurant cannot get me ICE WHEN I WAS DOWNSTAIRS BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO UNDERSTAFFED. IHG should be ashamed . Rebranding Holiday Inn to a premium brand and it is by far the worst location I've ever been to.o I asked for an upgrade upon my arrival, and although I saw several people checking out out, I was never given a yes, or no confirmation until every time I walked up to the front desk . My name is probably on the legal pad no less than five times in 24 hours The power went out in the front half of my room. I was not given any kind of compensation or allocation for my time I was unable to dry my hair or use my bathroom. So in closing stay away from this hotel INDI-GHEETO is the perfect name for this destination hotel! Pros: super convenient location (just across the ravenel bridge from dtown Charleston), recent renovations, good facilities (gym, pool, restaurant/bar), whole foods/trader joe's/shell gas/waterfront park a couple blocks away, free parking, and........Dave at the front desk (this man does his job exceptionally well! thanks for all the talks and recommendations!) Cons: wifi could be A LOT faster, hallways could be a little cleaner, creaking bathroom door upon closing, AC could be quieter I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, mainly bc of overall value and proximity to dtown Charleston, as well as a ton of gems in Mount Pleasant (Boone Hall Plantation, Sullivan's Island beach, coffee shops & restaurants galore) Ty for providing a home base for our awesome first visit to Charleston! read more

For $300 a night I shouldn't see a bathroom from the 90's. I shouldn't have to scoot by others in my room to get around. I shouldn't see roaches. I was eventually told by a resident of the town that it used to be a Holiday Inn and that was appalling but not surprising. You could tell that they didn't upgrade the place that much if you really pay attention. Probably one of the most dated places I've ever stayed. I'm really surprised by this hotel's rating because in my opinion it's at least a 4.3. It's location is close to the historic district, 8-20 minutes by car because of traffic. The hotel is immaculate. Friday-Sunday 6-9 there's live music. And the BAR!! I had more fun staying at hotel than touring downtown Charleston. The hotel is definitely a VIBE for all ages. We are used to staying at the Beach Club at Charleston Harbor when we visit the area, so I was excited to try another property. Well the former truly feels like a destination property with unbelievable pools, spacious rooms and bathrooms, patios and balconies, and endless views of the Ravenel bridge, the city and all the boat and ship traffic. I would classify this hotel as being a step or two up from a Holiday Inn Express. I can't attest to the variety of accommodations that this property offered because they only had a standard double queen available. The room was small, the view was best kept hidden, and the bathroom was basic and truly unremarkable. Since breaking my back I try to avoid any and all hotels with the tub/ shower combo as they are always awkward, slippery, and potentially very dangerous. Putting a glass sliding door on a tub, doesn't make it any better or safer. The toilet barely flushed. The hot water took forever to come to the right temperature. Since the weekend was unseasonably cold, windy and rainy, the room was our only respite after venturing out. The pool area was definitely better than most roadside Holiday Inns but we could not take advantage of it. Noise level was high, and the room did not have much soundproofing. We woke to unusually loud bangs but we couldn't even decipher the source of the noise. There were too many unsupervised kids, running and yelling through the hallways. It got tiresome, but I didn't feel like calling to complain as they obviously were having fun. Service was ok. Most staff just ignored us after check-in, except for maybe getting a little lopsided grin for a greeting when we were out and about on the property. At least the beds were comfortable and sleep was decent enough. Glad we experienced it, as now we know to avoid it. read more

Business traveler here. I stay at this hotel 1-2 nights every time I'm in Charleston. I think the rooms are nice and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are very quiet too, which is great since they allow pets. (Frankly, I've met some very cool dogs when visiting). The staff is always super friendly and helpful. When traveling, expect problems. That's just how it goes. How everyone responds to the problems is what truly matters. Their night manager, Angela, has helped resolved a few issues and goes above and beyond to make sure my every stay is a great experience. On desk, both Dave and Milana are rock stars!
