I have a problem with my gas tank that requires the attendant to keep pushing the gas sometimes. As a result, I apologize and warn every attendant and I only get $5 at a time, which is actually a complete pain for me, but I am specifically trying to be considerate. I actually am aware it is annoying, believe it or not. So, I resent being told, "You're gomna have to get this fixed, because I can't keep doing this." Uh, excuse me? Do you have something else going on? Have I ever even met you before? I AM THE ONLY PERSON HERE. Haha wth. Sorry that Oregon has a dumbass law that requires you to pump my gas and therefore have a job. But let me jump right on that $200 repair so as not to strain your thumb muscle. Tip: other attendants just turn the handle upsidedown and tell me to stop apologizing.

I did see and hear an attendant aggressively yelling at another attendant one time, a little uncomfortable, but thankfully it was a one time occurrence for me. The attendants always clean my windrows while I'm filling up. A nice little touch I don't encounter at many stations anymore.

You know the kind of pickup truck that shouts "work being done here! out of the way!" Part of being a man is also filling up such a beast every hundred furloughs or so. Luckily when the self-pump fuel law was passed in Oregon back in the 1950's, they had the forethought to discount diesel vehicles under the assumption that most diesel vehicles were being used by commercial and farm operators. Unfortunately, this particular Shell station doesn't follow the laws. According to the attendant the owner doesn't allow self pump at all. Which easily explains why diesel prices are about 40 cents a gallon more expensive here on average. The second problem is that the gas pump wouldn't actually fill the tank either. I've never had problems with it anywhere else, ever, so I can only conclude that the problem is with their equipment.

As some of you may know, I absolutely loathe the "full-service" gas stations that exist in Oregon and New Jersey. However, the attendants at this station are all very friendly, helpful and kind; something that is very uncommon in the industry. Sure, the gas here is a bit more expensive, but I'll gladly pay it to have a pleasant refueling experience. Sometimes they even clean your windows! This is seriously way beyond what I was expecting, but hey, it's great!

The gal who answered the phone asked for some information & had made a comment about how it was the end of her day. Once she ran the quote, she said that based on the type of car & what we were potentially needing that it was "too much labor" "over 5 hours worth" & also stated and I quote "no one is going to want to do this." I politely let her know that was okay & we were happy to do business with another auto shop that was willing to help. I let her know her comment rubbed me the wrong way. She apologized, which I appreciate, but she then justified it by saying she should "know better than to answer the phone so close to closing time" & that she had been at work since 7:30am and was tired. Overall, am disappointed in the experience - I had called based on the good reviews on Yelp/Google. Needless to say, I won't be considering them for any needs in the future since they don't seem to be hurting for business!
