Even when we were the most tragic as far as the gas prices go, I was still way less at the pump than most cars since I have had 7 gallon tanks. I still tried to go back and forth between gas points pricing at Fred Meyer and my Costco membership... I refuse to negotiate getting cash to try to save money going to Arco since you then have to deal with going to (AND INTO SINCE CASH WHICH ADDS TO THE FUCK NO) and also dealing with the folks who angrily work and Arco and discover why they are so mad since you also get to deal with the other customers. I then started doing delivery driving so I am not just filling my tank a whole lot more BUT I need to watch my money more and am EVERYWHERE. Of course there are many main streets which I am often on. But I see A LOT of gas stations and notice the price differences which are pretty sizeable. There are certain gas stops which just have better prices. I filled up at what I thought was the lowest (Astro) and five minutes later I drive past Space Age which was nearly ten cents cheaper! SHOCKING... but instead of plugging in Astro first I go for Space Age. I did exactly that this time and then discovered this gas station was so close for so long that I genuinely just found the other day. Even better is that people in Oregon are not used to self serve so they all sit in line waiting for someone to do it for them. Take advantage while you can, like I did and roll right up to a self service pump and then out. Unlike Astro, they have a snack station too. I cannot report on that as I just grabbed some gas.

I had a freebie f'real shake coupon which is this weird little machine which makes you a milkshake. I did not realize how great of a snack station this little gas station has until I went in and I will say that it is a pretty great alternative to 7-11 or Plaid Pantry since both can feel fairly overrun a bit at night if you need some snack action. This place seemed to have a pretty crazy selection of options for all your snacking needs. Good luck with service though. I was at the counter with the two people who work there standing around trying to fix their vacuum when suddenly one of them says to the other one that they should probably ring me up....seriously? He greeted me with a big smile and was eager to help from the moment I walked in. When he noticed I didn't have an AMPM rewards card, he even scanned his own card so I could get discounts, completely unprompted. That kind of generosity from an employee is rare and really touched me. He went so far above and beyond what was expected of him. I left feeling really uplifted, and honestly, that's not something you expect from a quick convenience store stop. This employee is a true asset to this location. I hope management recognizes how special he is. People like him make a real difference in customers' days! Highly recommend stopping in.

I usually park a little ways out to avoid the congestion. On this particular day, I left home 15 minutes earlier to meet friends at a restaurant on Walker Rd. After lunch, I was planning on joining a friend at the gym. I had lost my lock, so I wanted to pick one up on the way to the restaurant. I didn't have a lot of leeway, but I thought this would be a quick in and out. When I entered the side entrance, I saw a cashier, and I thought that would be perfect for checking out on the way out. I was having a hard time locating the Hardware section. I didn't see anyone to ask..so I just wandered in a direction I thought it would be. I finally found the Hardware section, but didn't see anything saying locks. Again, no one to ask, so I wandered the aisles. I finally found the combination locks. I made a beeline for the cashier I saw when entering the store. There weren't any customers in her area, she was having a conversation with a fellow employee. I walked over to the counter and the other employee left. I saw a closed sign on the counter, so I asked if she was closed, and she said yes. So I started to walk away to search for an open cashier. As I started to walk away, I looked back and there wasn't a closed sign on the register on the other side. So I asked her if this side was open and she said yes. So I said, OK. And she asked me "what was that?" And I said, "OKAY!" Why didn't she let me know that she could help me on the other side?? And the way she asked me, "What was that?" Was said with an attitude. So I said "OKAY" with an attitude back!
