I come home down Cedar Hills to this intersection for my drive, home almost nightly. Many times I have glanced over thinking, wow, that gas price seems really low! I remember several times getting gas on the other side of town, then seeing their sign saying its cheaper. I have this scenario happen all the time. I realize my gaslight just started blinking as I'm almost home and it's usually late enough that most spots are closed. I then forget and am running late the next night. Tonight, I decided to stay in but realized Fred Meyer would be closing within the hour and I wanted to just run out, take the ten minutes to drive over and fill up. I was heading there and saw the 777 price... which was 20 cents lower than Fred Meyer! Then I realized they were open! I discovered they are open until midnight!!! The lights are just very low at the gas station and the attendant is there but sitting down and almost hidden. Thank goodness, they just leave you alone to get your gas... seriously just let me pump it myself, quick and efficient. To get the cheapest price, use your debit card - this is one of those places that gives you cash price with your debit card. Looks like you should enter the amount yourself instead of just fill. A previous reviewer said it holds an excessive charge which can take a few days to straighten out... most cheap gas places do this so I learned long ago to enter an amount. I have a tiny gas tank so even when gas is really expensive, $30 we'll fill me so I just put in $30.

Even when we were the most tragic as far as the gas prices go, I was still way less at the pump than most cars since I have had 7 gallon tanks. I still tried to go back and forth between gas points pricing at Fred Meyer and my Costco membership... I refuse to negotiate getting cash to try to save money going to Arco since you then have to deal with going to (AND INTO SINCE CASH WHICH ADDS TO THE FUCK NO) and also dealing with the folks who angrily work and Arco and discover why they are so mad since you also get to deal with the other customers. I then started doing delivery driving so I am not just filling my tank a whole lot more BUT I need to watch my money more and am EVERYWHERE. Of course there are many main streets which I am often on. But I see A LOT of gas stations and notice the price differences which are pretty sizeable. There are certain gas stops which just have better prices. I filled up at what I thought was the lowest (Astro) and five minutes later I drive past Space Age which was nearly ten cents cheaper! SHOCKING... but instead of plugging in Astro first I go for Space Age. I did exactly that this time and then discovered this gas station was so close for so long that I genuinely just found the other day. Even better is that people in Oregon are not used to self serve so they all sit in line waiting for someone to do it for them. Take advantage while you can, like I did and roll right up to a self service pump and then out. Unlike Astro, they have a snack station too. I cannot report on that as I just grabbed some gas.

They got the best candy in the world here, nothing better than a Joyride. Note: Oregon law says pumping your own gas is not illegal anymore so please make time to do. I still like the idea of others pumping your gas but gone are those days. It was what made Oregon different from others.

My boyfriend needed an energy drink fix before continuing our trek out to Lincoln City after not having one all day. Seeing that this was a 7-Eleven, I also decided that on top of an energy drink, I also wanted a slurpee (no trip to 7-Eleven is complete without a slurpee!). My favorite energy drink brand is Ghost, but they had so many energy drink selections! My boyfriend just started drinking the Monster strawberry flavored energy drink, according to him it's his new favorite, and he was stoked to see that they had them in stock. I got myself the Ghost blue raspberry energy drink. The slurpee machine was tucked away in the back corner of the store, where I chose cherry, one of my favorite slurpee flavors. The service here was pretty decent. The guy behind the counter rang us up quickly and we were on our way. The store was clean as well.

(You see, there are many Chevron gas stations in the greater Hillsboro/Beaverton areas and I wanted to make sure I was referring to the exact right one. And I don't know if they are brand new or not but I could not find them on Yelp listings yet. So I added them in. I believe their official address is 11015 SW Canyon Rd SW Canyon Dr, Beaverton, but I could be wrong. Just short and sweet - there is another Chevron station about half a mile back near the Fred Meyer's, but this is a different one. When I walked in - not only was I pleasantly greeted by the shop keep, (there were two of them, a guy and a girl and both delightful) - but they even rushed over to open the door for me. ??!?! What the-? Who does that at a gas station food shop? Anyway - that was only the beginning. The place was bright and immaculate and beautifully stocked. Not one but BOTH of the sales clerks walked right up to offer their help. And I wasn't even there with a car! It was just such a nice surprise to be greeted so pleasantly and then to have such amazing customer service the entire time I was there - I was floored. They treated me like the Queen of England instead of some sweating, over-heated blonde chick who wandered in to look for a cold drink and a can of tuna! LOL. I wish I had caught the names of the two workers who helped me but if their boss sees this - you should give those two a big, fat raise! (Not to sound marginalizing but since I don't know their names, all I can do is describe them. The female land male both appeared to be Hispanic or Latino (perhaps American Indian/Asian, too, not sure). The woman was probably in her 40-50s and the guy was just a kid, but very very sweet and helpful. They were SO much fun and unbelievable. And right about now it kinda restored my faith in humanity a bit. Great job you guys! Thank you! I will be back! (Whether on foot or in an actual vehicle, lol.
