She's a teenager, so we hardly need the child-proof lids. Sometimes we'll get the regular lids, sometimes we won't. I picked up three prescriptions one time and two had the child-proof lids and one didn't. I've asked them repeatedly not to give us the child-proof caps. I get a rather snotty answer that it's already noted on our profiles. The automated system drives us nuts. It calls when your prescription is ready, which is fine, but it will call for each and every individual Rx. So, if you're waiting on six, you'll get six automated calls, one after the other. The final straw for me, though, was when I went to pick up the kiddo's Rx today. It was called in to the pharmacy yesterday, but still wasn't ready by 11:30 this morning. When I got the automated call, we left to pick it up. We got to the pharmacy at 1:20 and waited in the drive-thru lane for 10 minutes behind two cars. When we FINALLY got to the window, they closed the curtains and told me they were going to lunch! They seriously would not give me the Rx. I was told to come back later after 2:00. (I did, but the line of cars wrapped around the building, and I had just bought ice cream at the store. If it took ten minutes with two cars, I couldn't sit there with six cars ahead of me, so I left). We'll now be going to a different pharmacy for our meds. Unless it needs to be ordered, I should be able to get necessary meds in less than 24 hours from when the doctor calls it in.

This needs to be a two way street. My recent visit to this location just reinforced the notion that I am lumping them in with Kmart, Burger King, and Sears. Oldies, but not Goodies anymore. In other words, is anyone in management, or corporate, paying attention to the current retail times, or the overall weary condition of your stores, and staff? I was very discouraged by their photo developing system. Nothing appears to have changed with their system since the 1980s. I decided to move on to more modern-looking equipment, and products, at another establishment. During my shopping trip to this location, an announcement was repeated several times that the store was being monitored, and, rest assured, you can shop without fear. Two elderly women near me could not make out what was being said, so I kindly interpreted for them . Basically, you can shop here safely, and, while you are at it, don't think about shoplifting. I honestly do not care for this constant reminder. This location must have a high theft incidences or something. Drug stores are constantly trying to bring your business to them. Thank goodness there are other options in this category.

Able to pick up a quick item and be on my way. I have been taking a detour recently due to construction on 22 and traffic backing up, so Saltsburg Rd. has become old reliable. I needed to grab a few items that I didn't want or need to stop at a grocery store to get on my way to work. After making this trek for a few days and seeing the familiar purple mustang on the sign I decided why not give it a try again. Walking in, this place really hasn't changed much. Still has the same setup. I do see that they pizza offering has changed. I can't remember what pizza company they used prior, but it is a different one right now (however it does look like they aren't serving due to the pandemic). With there being a pizza place inside, that drastically cuts down on what can be offered on the convenience side. Let me tell you that this place could really use and update. It is very dated in here. The coolers definitely need to be replaced or something. There is condensation on the doors which makes it hard to see what is offered inside. It kind of reminds you of the way that 7-11 used to be set up. I grabbed a few drinks from the cooler and made my way to the register. The lady at the register is a delight. She greeted me when I walked in the store and then again when I approached the register. She asked me how my day was going and if I needed anything else...of course I did and she helped me out. Checking out is swift and I was on my way.

I have a running hypothesis here. It is my belief that the Rite Aid corporate office wanted to run…read moresome sort of an experiment to see whether or not they could get away with entirely eliminating any concern whatsoever for basic person-to-person courtesy, and they chose this Rite Aid Pharmacy as their testing grounds. In order to accomplish this goal, they went out and found the most arrogant, standoffish, elitist pharmacy technicians in the world, hired them, and told them to just go nuts. I figure this is the only possible reason that someone could be so unnecessarily rude. Well, Rite Aid, your experiment is working because this place is somehow still in business! At first, I could have sworn I'd done something to offend the lady working there when I went in because she was outwardly rude to me, but I couldn't figure out how saying, "Hi, I'm just here to pick up," could have been perceived as offensive. Then I thought, "maybe there's a long line behind me that she wants to address." Sure enough, nobody was there. So I tried to be understanding by assuming she was just having a rough day - we've all been irritated at work before and maybe not handled it well. Wrong again! My wife said she got the exact same treatment the next day. Mind you, I didn't even tell my wife about my experience the day before. In fact, she was treated so poorly that she thought the pharmacy technician was a racist (she's a minority, I'm not) until I informed her that the lady was equally abrasive to people of all colors. Which, I guess, is better? Just for some context here, I'm not the type to get easily offended. But I'm a firm believer that people should show one another even a modicum of basic respect. Apparently the staff at your local Rite Aid thinks differently though.

Even by selecting different choices such as 'is refill ready', 'speak to pharmacy', 'doctor's office calling',etc I get no response. I realize times are bad with employment but, Rite Aid in Plum is absolutely ridiculous. If they don't have the help, just close the darned pharmacy and send prescriptions to CVS or another pharmacy!

I typically don't like to buy any items outside of medications at Walgreens since they tend to be a good bit higher than many local department stores, however they are very conveniently located, lots of parking, and never too busy. That being said, sometimes I just find myself here out of convenience. I usually wouldn't have thought to review a chain pharmacy, but my last two visits there changed my mind. On a recent change of insurance, it was brought to my attention by the pharmacist VIA telephone that one of my monthly scripts had a co-pay of roughly $100.00! Yikes! I said to put it on hold and I'd be in for the others. Upon my arrival she informed me she located a coupon on my behalf and the co-pay was now $0.00! And for the next year just a quarter of what it would have been without her dedication and assistance! So shout out to Walgreens, they have their customer service and the interests of their customers as their #1 priority...
