Yes it does look a lot like a product ad, which we all know the actual sandwich never looks as good. Some history - I literally have been buying Whoppers since they first came out when they were thirty-nine cents, and back then it truly took two hands to handle a Whopper. This sandwich was by far the best fast food burger anywhere. I have been eating them since then but started tapering off when the price went up, the size went down and the quality was barely fit to feed to a human. Then I stopped buying them entirely. Recently, maybe because of a brilliant marketing program, the Whopper has been in the news almost daily. They say it's the most popular burger in America and that Burger king has made all kinds of promises that it will be perfect or they will do it over again. Due to other commitments I couldn't eat it in the restaurant to take advantage of that offer and while Burger King doesn't say anything about what happens if you buy a Whooper to take home but here's my experience. The person I was with does DoorDash and has one of those containers that's supposed to keep food hot until it's delivered. Of course who needs that in Phoenix in the summer where the temperature averages 110F, but we used It and put it in the back seat. We only had to go a couple of miles to home so it should have still been toasty hot, but when I opened it the top of the bun felt like it had just come out of the refrigerator. I can't prove that to Burger King and don't expect them to make it over for me, so I microwaved it for a few seconds but if you've ever done that you know that doing that instantly wilts the lettuce and makes the bun dry. Other than that, here's the final scoop. Compared to the last Whopper I bought which was an undersized disaster in a wrapper this one looks amazing even after a trip home with it. The arrangement of the condiments was picture perfect. The meat had much more of that flame broiled look (although not up to what the original Whoppers looked, and tasted, like). And, here's the clincher - it took two hands to handle my Whopper, it was back to being impressively big (again, not quite what the original thirty-nine cent ones were, but hey this is 2026. At $6.99 what can I say, that's still a lot for one patty, some veggies and a bun, but compared to the golden arches folks this is a definite winner of a whopper.
