This review is for Victor, the Russian Mercedes mechanic at this gas station. I am an owner of several vintage Mercedes cars. I have gone through four different mechanics in the last 15 years who specialize in Mercedes. My last mechanic was Jorge, from Mr. MB Motors in Tarzana, the legendary Master Guild Mercedes mechanic. When he retired, I decided to go local I chose Jack from Jack's Tri-Start Motors in Glendale, on San Fernando. Jack is a good guy, who absolutely knows his shit, even and especially on older Mercedes cars, and can diagnose problems instantaneously. However Jack is too expensive at $125 / hour. Case in point, for one of my newer Mercedes cars, the intake manifold developed a crack The entire manifold needed to be replaced with a new one. Jack diagnosed the problem, no joke, in less than one minute. His cost of labor was $500. So I happened to walk-in on Victor doing the same job on one of his customers' cars one day at Shell. He charged me $300 plus I supplied the parts. This is how I got introduced to Victor as a mechanic. Victor owns two vintage Mercedes diesel cars, as do I. I brought him my old 300d turbo diesel, and had him do a valve adjustment Right price, and service from a guy who owns the same car as you do and knows his shit, and is local, is the trifecta you need for your car. So now Victor does all my old Mercedes. The only thing about Victor's place is, he has only two stalls. One stall is dedicated for smog checks, which can come in at any time, thereby shifting his focus. And the other is for repairs. Almost all car repairs he does, have to be one-day jobs max. Because he can't be occupying his work stall for more than a full day with a repair. When I brought him my Mercedes c230 for the intake manifold, he stayed until 8pm that night just to finish the job, because he had another scheduled repair the next day Jobs that Victor has done for my Mercedes cars: -intake manifold swap -fuel filter/accumulator swap -coolant flush/exchange -brake fluid flush/exchange -valve adjustment -window regulator repair -oil changes, gasket replacements -brake jobs -suspension work: shocks, struts, springs Recommend you try him out for the little things that you don't want to take to your Mercedes Indy mech who will charge you $125 per hour on labor. You will get good quality, attention-to-detail work from a Mercedes pro. Payment: You don't pay him directly. He gives you an invoice, and you take it to the Shell counter (where you pay for gas). Thus, if you wanted to pay with credit card, you can do so, unlike indy shops which charge you More to pay with A card. What I do is, I go to Ralphs (which has a partnership with Shell gas station) and buy Shell gift cards with my credit card (earning points on my card) in the amount of the repair price. I pay for my car repair with Shell gift cards, thereby earning both points and discounts of 20 to 40 cents off per gallon (!) on my gas. After you pay for your repair, the gas station will also give you a free drive-through car wash as well. Bottom line: Victor is a good, experienced mechanic, who knows his way around 70's, 80's and 90's (and newer) Mercedes cars. I've seen him doing w116 300sd's, and 2016 E-class cars. He prefers to work on Mercedes, but will take and repair other cars as well. He is essentially a mini-indy shop, without the overhead shop owners pay. My previous guy, Jack, has to pay rent at his shop in Glendale, and passes on his costs to you in his hourly rate. Victor doesn't pay rent (not that I know), so his prices are much more reasonable at $75 per hour, but sometimes he will cut you a break on his prices as well. read more

Payed $10 for the Super car wash and it didn't even do the things it said. No wax No polish... my car had soap and water marks on it when it was done. Which means it only did water soap and scrubbed. And all marks and dirt on it. I already told them one time but unfortunately nothing was done. Please check what's really wrong because our cars still dirty . read more

Shell Gas Station - My car after wash - Gas Stations Near Me - La Cañada Flintridge, California

FYI don't try to buy an adventure pass here, they don't have them. I learned this fact today after walking in and watching the 'employee' watch a video on his phone for close to a minute while he ignored me. I'm so sorry to have offended him. I'll be sure to never come here again, for any reason, and to tell everyone who asks never to come here. read more

I fill up two cars here and get car washes for both every two weeks. One day the car wash did not appear to be working. The soap light did not come on and there was no water coming out. The car was left dirty. I went in and the first guy said he didn't know anything. He was right. I went back for my next wash and went inside to explain what had happened, assuming it would be a no brainer to give me a free wash. The man was so rude, very defensive and said that's how it works. So the wash does not clean the car? He could have handled this so differently. But now I see this bad attitude is standard for this station and the reason for the 1 star reviews Taking my business elsewhere. read more

Payed $10 for the best car wash and it didn't even do the things it said. No wax No polish... my car had soap marks on it when it was done. Which means it only did water soap and scrubbed. Scam car wash might as well do the cheapest option read more

Everybody that works here is rude. Not helpful, attitude having meanies. Especially the older guy that might even be the manager. For La Canada Flintridge, where every employee at every place of business is 5 star- friendly, thats very unusual and unappreciated. Plus, the carwash seems to have some type of malfunction every other time I go to use it. read more

I always stop by here after work on my way home to put gas daily on one of my sisters car's since we carpool. But NEVER HAVE I EVER been WRONGLY CHARGED by an employee. Today i decided to go in my car since we took two cars. Usually there is a cool younger guy that is very professional and kind. But this time it was a older man and I was in a rush I grabbed a coke can and a bag of chips usually it's about $3 something but this guy charged me $11.10!!! Best believe I'm fighting this and never going there again. It's a bummer because I like this place and we always stop to put gas since we drive far and we get snacks daily. But this has ruined my experience. Very disappointed. BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT OVERCHARGES BY THE OLDER EMOLOYEE read more

I just called to get basic information and the guy was super rude on the phone. I understand their low ratings now!

No service. Unpleasant experience. Regret, do not recommend. Nothing works but they don't care, and they certainly don't care about the customers. No stars. read more

Holy cow this was the worst car wash ever. I went through twice and it somehow got worse each time! There was a residue left on my car and my car came out sopping wet and has the worst water spots ever even with the "spot free rinse." There is a Shell by my house in Santa Monica that has an amazing car wash! I go through all of the time. Their dryers actually work and even if there is water left, it truly dries spot free. I thought I'd have the same experience at this Shell but boy was I wrong. I ended up having to clean my side mirrors and windows with glass cleaner just to see through them and now I have to go to another car wash to get the water spots off. What a waste of $20 and my time. Very disappointing. read more

The man at the counter was very rude. He gave short answers to everyone and when I first came in was watching a video on his phone, ignored me until I said hello and then grunted. When I left he said thank you, and I didn't respond because I felt he had been quite rude, and then said thank you again three times at increasing volume as I walked out the door, more angrily each time. Another customer before me complained about the car wash prepaid code not being accepted and he was quite short and rude with her also. I absolutely will never come back here. read more

What I like best about this place is that you can get a car wash. I hate it though when the vacuum isn't working. I also would like it better if there were more suds. Make sure to use your Ralphs points! The gas is cheaper!! read more

Shell Gas Station - Air and water - Gas Stations Near Me - La Cañada Flintridge, California

I'm surprised this gas station has such a low rating. I don't see much wrong with it at all. I come here typically on Wednesdays to maximize on low prices midweek. They have a serviceable car wash, and a little mart with all the typical gas station goodies. Ho hos, Twinkies, M&Ms, Chips, Energy Drinks. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. Also like car freshener in case you drive in a sewage facility. I suppose my main gripe is that it can tend to be busy, especially since it is right off the highway, and close to the La Canada Plaza that has every millenial's food dream: Panera, Blaze, Chipotle, and Luna! Shell. Come for the gas, Leave cause you can. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I was regular customer. After today....not any more. Customer service is non existent! Both attendant, Sabir, and mechanic, Victor, were rude. I live in the community and will share this experience! You were rude to the wrong person, sweeties! read more

This review also pertains to Viktor, the Mercedes specialist mechanic at this gas station. Viktor is simply outstanding. He is delightfully honest, does the work perfectly and responsibly and is very fair priced. He has serviced our 2 Mercedes E series wagons for years, and it is a pleasure to deal with him. If you're in trouble, he's always there for you!! read more

Super rude and insulting douche bag behind the counter. I came in to tell him that the pump wasn't working. No "thank you for telling me" but he threw his hands up in the air and said "what you want me to do? Is not working, it happens". And refused to reimburse me for the car wash it already charged me. I live here in LCF and it's always the same with this guy, no matter how polite you try to be with him. What is his problem? Because this is such a hub gas station, the business keeps coming, SO it can afford to hire someone more willing to do a better job. Why don't I go elsewhere, you might ask? Because it has the car wash and the day passes you need to buy for the park on ACH, which he demands CASH for sometimes. Please get rid of this man...you can do much better than him. read more

This review is for Viktor, the Mercedes mechanic. I have a Mercedes E-Class. I only take my Mercedes to him. You should only take your Mercedes to him. Mercedes trained. Friendly. Honest. Hard-working. Fair. Viktor knows Mercedes inside and out. You can always count on him for truthful advice on your car. I highly recommend him to anyone. read more

The only good thing I can report is that gas usually flows from the pump. I wouldn't vouch for the accuracy of the pumps, however, as the tamper seals are always broken or newly replaced. The credit card readers on at least 2 of the pumps are always down. It's a minor miracle if the receipt works. Half the time the car wash code is not printed on the receipt, so you get to park and go inside, wait in line, and ask for it to be reprinted by a surly attendant who makes you feel like you're the idiot. On the weekends it's crammed with 100 crotch-rockets. Good luck finding an open pump. read more

Called the guy for info about the permit about the switzer falls parking permit and he was very rude for no reason and he immediately said that he had to hang up. read more

Attendant was on a personal call while the store filled up with people. He started to charge my item and gas while on the phone. I wanted to use my rewards card but he had already started to ring me up. When I brought this to his attention he became very irritated as if it were my fault for not speaking up. UN-professional. This type of service is not acceptable. read more

This location is so dirty. And the employees have absolutely no personality. There is a Chevron just down the street with nice employees and they wash the pump handles several times a day. Also cheaper gas at Chevron. read more

The car wash was horrible. You could see streaks where neither the brushes nor soap even touched my car. They gave me another car wash and guess what... same issue. I asked for a refund and was told I expected too much. I'm never going back. read more

Super Rude Armenian guy!!! My bf came for a patch on his tire and the guy didn't want to do it when he specifically called to see if they do that kind of work there and said they do. Not only did they say it was a $15-20 job, the guy wanted to hustle him for $25. After so much arguing with him, my bf decided to walk away and not waist his time. the guy threw his hands in the air like saying fuck Off. read more

Horrible service. Rude staff. Refused me a$7 refund when the car wash broke right before I drove in.

Worst car wash ever. Horrible job drying the car. Water spots everywhere. Missed spots. Paid $10 for the "supreme wash". Don't waste your money. Also, the employee there is very rude. read more

So I always went to get gas here before going on a drive Angeles Crest. Today same as always, but I noticed a bunch of fire trucks and ambulances further up the road, I walked to the sidewalk its see what was going on. As I was heading back to my car, one of the attendants was yelling at me to move my car, as I wasn't getting gas in his opinion, I told him I was and to calm down, it was 530am and no other cars were at the gas station. He cursed at me and threatened to call the cops, I got into my car, and heading across the street. What a terrible attitude at this shell! read more

the Arabian guy that worked the night of 01/01/17 should not be working there. some buddies and i stopped there for some gas that night between 9:30pm and 10:30pm. the cashier hides in the back to avoid dealing with transactions with customers and when he gets caught and does have to deal with customers, he is very rude. the first thing he says is "what do you need?" when my friend asked for chapstick, he turned around, grabbed a box, took a stick and rang it up. didn't even ask her what flavor she wanted. and when I asked for a Swisher, he did the same exact thing. when he gives you back your change, he throws it into the little door tray like hes showing you disrespect. I've seen other customers trying to pay for gas but couldn't because he was masturbating or sleeping in the back. read more

DENA at this Shell station very very RUDE!! Very bad costumer service someone please get her a cup of coffee or she needs to find a job she likes. read more

This review is just for the car wash. Worst ever. The dryer at the end is an absolute joke. The price is low ($7-10) but still not worth your car being completely soaked after the dryer (a single pass). I had to dry the entire car with my own towel and the spots I missed had very visible water spots. It was a hot summer day and if I didn't have a towel with me, the entire car would have been worse off with extremely visible water marks than the dirt/dust I had before the wash! read more

This place is horrible. I was there this morning for a car wash and because I forgot to use my (grocery store) phone number for points, the clerk Dena, totally lost his temper. He was abusively yelling at me for mixing him up. I felt afraid of him and looked to the woman behind me for help. I was ready to report him to the police but will first report the station to the Shell corporation. It's never pleasant there. If there was a rating of less than one star I would use it. read more

Have been coming to this station for two years, always on my motorcycle. It is the unofficial starting and meetup point for riding ACH, usually to Newcombs Ranch. Sometimes 20 or 30 motorcycles have congregated. The owners and management are always accommodating, considering how much space we can occupy, and we delay motorist in cars from the pumps. Maybe it helps that we purchase a little more than average from the convenience store. Thanks for hosting all the two-wheeled motorists over the years. read more

BEWARE!! DON'T BUY YOUR ADVENTURE PASS FROM THIS STATION! The attendant demanded $35 cash for annual adventure pass, which only costs $30. The attendant was very rude, and obnoxious. read more

I've grown up in la Canada and tend to regularly come here for the Carwash and vacuum. The power was out today and the employee was extremely rude when I told him nothing was working (not knowing the power was out). He told me oh well the power is out and there's nothing he can do after knowing he took my cash. I kindly asked him if he could write a note or something so I could come back and he simply repeated, no there's nothing he can do. I told him that's bad customer service and not right he's not going to even write a simple note after taking cash. Disappointed in the lack of customer service. read more

I purchased a touchless car wash at this location (the Shell Gas Station on Merivale) thinking that it could at least clean off a bit of the dirt on my car. I had even purchased the premium package. However, after I had taken my vehicle through the car wash, it was just as filthy as before (even the handprints from my 2 year old were still clearly visible. When I went inside to ask for a refund, the gentleman working the cash said he woudl like to see my vehicle first to ensure that I wasn't lying, which was completely reasonable. After looking at my vehicle out front he agreed that the cash wash had done literally nothign and that my vehicle was still as filthy as before. This is where the outrageous part occurs. He refused to give me a refund, telling me that there was no way for him to do that and that the best he could do is provide me with anoth car wash for free. Considering how it went the first time, this is completely useless to me, even having purchased the most expensive carwash available for twice the regular rate. The gentleman then went on to tell me that my best solution was to take it down the road to another car wash, take my car through there and then come back and take it through the touchless car wash afterwards. I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. I pay for a car wash, which doesnt work and then they suggest I pay for another one somewhere else so that my car can actually be cleaned, and then afterwards bring my vehicle back to be "cleaned" again. I was extremely disappointmed and frustrated with this kind of customer service. Not only did I waste my time and money on a car wash that doesnt even work, but the only solution provided was to not refund me my money and to go to another gas station with a working car wash. I will certainly not be purchasing gas from this location ever again, and I will be adamently warning future customers to stay away because of the poor quality of service provided. read more

The location is great, but some employees are terrible like Sabir, (cashier Armenian man), is a real jerk. He's sooo rude and disrespectful.

The most expensive gas in La Canada. The ridiculous thing is that when you earn your 20 cent off gas reward from Ralphs and use it at this Shell you end up saving about 4 cents off compared to what other stations charge. I bought a snack today, same snack I bought 4 days ago, and it was almost twice as much. When I ask the guy about it all I got was a grunt. Too many other good choices for me to patronize this station. read more

I would give zero stars if I could . Rudest person I have ever met. This guy is unacceptable. He yelled at us for asking if we could pay with cash. We are giving him or money and he was mad at us. Just filled up with $61.00 worth of gas. within minutes with my wallet app on my iPhone, my Amex charge came in at $85. I went in to complain with the attendant David Chang, who first told me it was impossible. When I showed him my receipt and the charge on my phone, he said to come back tomorrow for a refund. Bottom line, I can challenge the charge on my CC, but being a resident of La Canada, I find it disgusting that someone can scam people under their nose. I definitely recommend for every resident in the town to boycott this station. Who knows how many have been scammed like this without even knowing. read more
