Come here to get a .20 cent per gallon discount on your fill-up with your Ralph's card. This Shell is conveniently located on Angeles Crest Hwy just north of Foothill Boulevard. On the weekends it is the favorite fill-up for all the motorcyclists who like to go on their weekend ride up the Crest. If you one of these riders please be careful and watch the rocks because I constantly hear the helicopters going up to retrieve people that have accidents. This is also a great place to pick up your Adventure Pass if you are heading up to enjoy the camp sites or hiking up in the Angeles National Forest. I believe it is $5.00 for a day pass. It's also very close to many eateries like Sakura, The Habit Burger Grill, Panera, Chipotle, Taylor's Steak House and Sport Chalet for last minute dining or shopping before you jump on the freeway or head up to the snow. *Misc. info for other Yelp check-ins: I don't know about you, but I get really annoyed when I try to check into a place and there are multiple Yelp listings for the same place. Ugggghhhhh!!! Obviously, I checked into the wrong one because I saw my friend Ken M. who wrote a first time review on it, only to find out later that my friend Jeff B. wrote a review on the other one. Sorry Ken, but I am going with Jeff because Jay's Shell Station is just easier to remember than Rabadi Jalal Jay S Shell and I couldn't determine the real name after doing research online. Also, I am really sorry Ken, but I think you did a duplicate set-up that I have to report, so I don't have to remember this little tidbit each time I fill-up my tank. If the name had changed then the original listing should just be updated instead of a new business being added. Yes, I'm a little OCD with this stuff , so sue me. (Pumped 6/22/12 F @ 7:30am): The gouge is over; competition is a bitch! I passed Jay's Shell Gas Station everyday to and from work, and under by breath, I would curse them for their astronomical gas prices. Drive about a mile in either direction along Foothill Blvd. and you would find other gas stations usually $0.20/gallon cheaper. But after 2+ years of no competition at the corner of Foothill Blvd. and Angeles Crest Highway, a new sheriff came into town who posted "affordable" prices on its illuminated price marquee display. The night before the giant-slayer arrived, the lowest price gas at Jay's was $3.99/gallon. On this particular morning...$3.75/gallon! Take that mother effer! Now, if I didn't need gas so badly and wasn't running late for work, I would have certainly gone to the new Chevron station across the street. But frankly, it wasn't convenient for me as the Shell station was on the same side of the street of the 210 West freeway onramp towards Santa Clarita for work (it is literally right before the 210 East freeway onramp towards Pasadena). So with a hug grin on my face, I pulled into the station up to an available pump, went through the motion, attached the "G-Tube", and let 'er rip! The station was big with plenty of room and pump stations, and at this time there were four to five cars. It also had a mini-mart and car wash attached, so the full amenities were nice features. My tank was soon filled up (a bit slow for my taste)...with over 10 gallons of gas and $39.50 charged to the credit card. There was no service to speak of. I mean, it was all self-serve...unless you went inside to buy some snacks, etc. The pay station accepted my Ralphs Rewards and credit card, the gas hosed flowed adequately, there were squeegees and paper towels, and I got a receipt. And there was an air and water station. Parking wasn't/shouldn't be any issue - it's a gas station! If you need to park, then something is wrong! However, there was some room along both ends of the station should you need to park for any reason. Since it's at the base of the Angeles Crest Highway, you would see many motorcyclists usually on the weekend hanging out. Overall, Jay's Shell Gas Station was of the full-serve kind, which was a plus should you need to do other things. However, their gouging days have cemented their reputation in my eyes. Although their gas prices was finally comparable with other surrounding stations, history precedes them and I found no value as noted by the prices I quoted above (total bill was around $39.50; no tip required). I only hope they learned their lesson and continue to keep their prices down. The atmosphere was clean, simplistic, spacious, and the location was excellent. The attire was pure casual, so put on the t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip flops. And they take my credit card of choice...AMEX! read more

This gas station is located near the corner of Foothill and Angeles Crest. It is probably the most convenient gas station right off the freeway and this is why they charge more than the 76 / 7Eleven across the street. They also have a car wash, smog check and sell propane exchanges. read more

Worst car wash. Half the time it doesn't have all the cleaners you pay for or the air dryer is not functioning properly. It does not clean the back of your car at all. Today the card reader and the cash slot both did not work. So I sat behind 2 cars then found out I could not get my car washed. Hate this place, I'm finished with it. read more

I've stopped here countless times over the years on rides into, and out of, Angeles National Forest. The gas prices aren't ridiculous, and the ingress/egress is fine. The food store isn't huge, but there is a service bay (never needed that, though). It's a gas station where one is needed, especially since the 76 station down the road is under some sort of rehab. read more

We live in the area and stopped to cash in our lottery tickets and by some more. The cashier was beyond rude to not only me but to everyone that came in to buy something. I see by the comments on Yelp that others have had a very bad expierience here too. The attendant had me wait for every one to go in front of me, which I politely let them as I wasn't in a hurry, when it was my turn he said he didn't have time to help me and got really mad and started to yell at me and then threw my tickets at me. The customer behind me couldn't believe how this person would treat a customer. DO NOT !!!! Support this business. I am surprised they are part of the Shell Company. read more

Been customers here a long time so when my husband shared that the "cashier" refused to give him a refund for a car wash that didn't work, then proceeded to refuse to give him the name of the manager or owner, then cussed him out, then actually came out of the store to flip him off, cuss him out some more, calling him an idiot and screaming that he was actually the owner - all of this in front of other customers - well I just had to spread the word that obviously the "owner" doesn't give a damn about customer service. Bad service is one thing, but to demonstrate such disrespect to a paying customer is unforgivable. We will be taking our dirty cars, empty gas tanks, and U.S. dollars elsewhere. read more

The customer service at this gas station is a nightmare. I filled up my tank and purchased an automated car wash. When I pulled around to the car wash machine the car in front of me was just pulling out. However, the dryer fan never shut off and the 'back up' indicator was on and stayed on. After waiting for a few minutes I decided to give up and get a refund. When I went inside to ask for my money back I was very flatly and rudely told no. I was completely stunned. I repeated that their car wash was broken and I wanted a refund. I was told that it's not their fault that I don't know how to operate the machine. Really? I don't know how to pull into a tunnel? I am still completely blown away by how rudely I was treated over an $8 refund. Clearly I will never go back to this gas station and I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. read more
