So given that I work pretty much around the corner and within walking distance from this place, I thought I'd have to go ahead and give this place a review. I've only had one problem with this place, and that's that they seem to close this place down a lot whether it be because the gas man is filling the tanks up or their systems go down a lot there. I dont know what it is. I do have to say though, for those mid-day cravings for Funyns, 99 cent soda (no matter what size) or for that chocolate craving for those womanly days, Verdugo Mobil is always there for me and has never failed. I do wish though that they'd have more of a 7 Eleven selection with sandwiches and slurpees, you know, that kinda stuff. They have very friendly staff too, after a while they get to know you if you come around often and you sort of feel like one of the Mobil family. They're all pretty darn spiffy here, especially the lady manager. They also are pretty competitive with the Shell gas station by my place on Pacific and seem to seesaw with them for best gas price.

Use your Plenti card first before paying and earn points.

Visited 2/12/16 Many gas pumps. They have a food mart. Usual junk food to choose from. You can't wash your car here. Four stars because I had to go inside and get my receipt.

great location! clean bathrooms, friendly cashier. Bur=t i think everything here is overpraised. even the water here is more expensive than other Mobil's gestation

Fat boy working tonight has a bad attitude. He should not be working with people. Took him 10 minutes to use the restroom.

Went in to get a drink. The machine had no carbonation. The clerk couldn't be bothered as there were things in the way. So NOT impressed.

The kind of spot where everything looks a little unpolished, but that's exactly why it works. The marinated meats are the standout trays packed with seasoned cuts that look ready to go straight onto a grill. Same with the prepared fish, which looked fresh and heavily herbed. It's very much a "trust the process" situation here. Inside, you've got shelves of imported cheeses, spreads, and pantry items, plus a surprisingly solid produce section. Not huge, but fresh and well-priced. Service is efficient more functional than friendly but they'll point you in the right direction if you ask.

There is also a deli counter with prepared foods featuring both cold and hot foods. The quality is similar to that of a restaurant, albeit a bit more oily. They also grill meats onsite, making it very convenient for takeout meals and for picnics. The quality of the produce is quite good, too. Staff is friendly and helpful. The parking lot is small but serviceable because customers don't tend to remain in the store for long, so turnover is fairly regular.

The people here are super friendly and helpful. I ordered the real deal brisket pastrami sandwich. Such a delicious sandwich and the size is pretty large. I think it could have lasted me two different meals. Especially if I got a side or two with it. Definitely would love to come back to try some of the other sandwiches. The prices is here are pretty reasonable especially with lots of expensive sandwich shops out there these days.

I saw an Instagram post about a thick-cut wagyu pastrami hoagie. Well, the thick-cut pastrami isn't…read morea thing anymore. The pastrami is cut thin -- thin, but it's still good. What we ordered: 1) a create-your-own pastrami sandwich with mustard, pickles, and Swiss cheese, 2) their new pastrami cheesesteak. 3) a banana pudding (which I haven't tried yet) The standard pastrami hoagie good, but those kinds of pastrami sandwiches are pretty ubiquitous in SoCal-- pastrami, thinly sliced; maybe there's pickles, maybe there's mustard, maybe there's jus for a dip (their's is dry), on a French roll. I can get that kind of pastrami sandwich closer to me. On the other hand, a pastrami cheesesteak is NOT something you'd see around these parts. According to the menu, their cheesesteak has their signature pastrami, Cooper sharp cheddar, and onions on a hoagie roll. We preferred the pastrami cheesesteak over the standard, simply because of the novelty but also for the taste. The cheddar gave the cheesesteak a richness that a regular pastrami sandwich wouldn't have. Also, the melted cheddar had a binding effect on the pastrami; the meat stayed in the sandwich. You didn't end up with a third to half the pastrami ending up escaping the confines of the roll halves. The pastrami cheesesteak also included a 2oz serving cup of chipotle aioli which we really didn't need. The flavor on its own was enough for us. If I had a minor gripe on this cheesesteak, maybe a hit of acid would've been nice, but cheesesteaks usually lean toward rich and gooey so this sandwich's flavors and textures are par for the course. About the place itself: 1) the sandwich shop is on the corner of a major intersection, Lexington and Pacific 2) other than a driveway with a single space, it is ALL street parking. 3) there is NO parking on Pacific 4) the only dine-in option is a small porch with a couple of tables 5) be stage are all canned or bottled; there is no fountain The sandwiches are made to order. My order was given a wait time of 15 minutes but I'm pretty sure it was faster than that. I don't think I would drive all the way from the Rosemead area, but it's clearly a local's favorite. If we were in the area, we'd totally order the pastrami cheesesteak again, maybe with pepperonis. Their pastrami is no Langer's, but it's definitely a cut (no pun intended) over the standard Jim's 1/4 Lb or Rick's type joints. You can taste the care in its preparation. Overall, a really good sandwich place.

Not all 7 Elevens do the 2 for one, and these 7 Elevens are not worth your time. Please, take advantage of this potassium-tastic deal! Other notes: This 7 Eleven does not get that elusive 5th star due to the fact that their chicken fingers never look too good, and sometimes their pizza is quite dry looking. This location is one of the smaller ones, and does not have quite the selection the 7 Eleven further down Broadway has. However, that location does not offer the aforementioned banana deal, so I make a point to always visit this location. This location also has friendly staff and the line is never too long. They are very cool about letting me use my 7 Eleven only parking spot to run next door and grab a croissant after making my purchase in their fine establishment. TLDR: 2 bananas for 1 dollar.
