All the employees here are idiots. I have been using this place forever and there is always a problem. A lot of the card readers at the pumps don't work. They never put up signs. I tried to tell them about a broken card reader. One girl rolled hers eyes and said she was new. Then another guy told me they knew about the broken card readers. I asked why they didn't put up signs. He looked at me like I was the dumb one in the conversation and then blew me off with stupid excuses, rolled his eyes while sipping his drink at the register. Also, be careful after using the car wash. There is a unmarked curb people keep getting their cars stuck on. The owners apparently know about it but think it's funny. The pumps rarely provide a receipt so if you order a car wash, you have to go inside and wait in line to request your receipt with the car wash code on it. Then get in line to get a car wash. Today, there were 5 cars ahead of me and it took over an hour to get the poor quality drive thru car wash because some of the people ahead of me couldn't get their cars straight in the drive thru and had to repeatedly adjust their car. Filled up my tank and went to put air in my tires but it seems like the employees like to park there vehicles in the designated spots for the air and water. First time I got a frozen popsicle and when I got to the Hilton hotel an open it , it was slimy it was late and I didn't want to go back to the store and I had to throw it away. A few days later I come back and get a chocolate the expensive ones and the chocolate looks nasty and taste so old. I went and they said everything is final sale ! So don't buy here they buy old stuff for cheap I guess and that's how they make their money . And I just throw away about $12 to the trash basically just like that. A great location to get your car wash! It's a struggle to find automatic car wash services in Berkeley. This location is a great alternative car wash to the Chevron on Telegraph Ave which is temporarily closed. I like to keep my car shiny, and this gets the job done. A very friendly salesperson told me about the rewards program. If you enter your phone number, you get $1 off every car wash, and the 6th car wash is free. This is a great option for regular customers. FYI that if you want to utilize this rewards program, you likely have to go checkout inside and get a code for the kiosk, since you need to enter your phone number. Bought a car wash, car wash stopped right after my car was completely cover in soap. Waited at least 10min for the manager to come out and just rinsed the soap off my car. Went inside to at least get a voucher for another car wash because my car still had dirt on it. The manager was not only rude from beginning to end of the conversation, but she kept arguing that my car was fine. I even asked her to go check it out right outside the gas station, she came out glanced at it and said it was fine. After searching for a gas station with a car wash where I could fill my tank and then use the drive through car wash, I was excessively disappointed to learn that the car wash was closed. The gas pump where I filled up my tank still asked about purchasing a car wash, and the inside of the car wash that I could see while pumping gas had water on the ground. I drove over to the car wash entrance only to see a small sign stating that it was closed. My first thought was to ask for a refund. Big mistake. The store clerk proceeded to tell others that the car wash was closed, but the car wash prepaid service could be redeemed within 30 days. Within seconds, she revised the expiration date to 60 days, then 90 days. Customers repeated asked if the car wash would be open by that time in light of the shelter-in-place ordinances. When I asked for a refund, I was told that no refund could be offered. Instead, I must come back within 90 days of purchase to redeem the prepaid car wash. I pointed out the absurdity of an expiration date on any cash value paid for a service within California. Both the store clerk and whomever she asked for help in the private office area do not understand how it's illegal to place an expiration date on a prepaid service under California Civil Code 1749.5. I can only wonder how many people have fallen victim to these illegal expiration dates and cannot imagine why a class action suit has never been filed against such an obvious legal violation. In summary, now I can either embark on an unnecessary trip back to this gas station for a refund if I manage to find the station manager or keep calling this location until the car wash opens for what will be an unnecessary trip. My other option is to file a complaint with both the Shell corporate headquarters and the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Again I ask myself how no class action lawsuit has ever been filed against the Shell Corporation and its local gas stations with self-service car washes for these obvious violations of California law when they cite expiration dates on non-perishable prepaid services acquired through a cash transaction. Keep in mind that the receipt printed at the gas pumps when you purchase this service lists no expiration date. read more

Well, I've been using this place for over 10 years and it's my favorite one. But these days many card readers at the pump don't work and you need to pay inside which causes trouble as some cashiers don't know how to deal with loopback or FuelRewards. Today I needed to pay inside: I typed my alternative loyalty number, which is phone number, and the pin pad says "Do you want to join fuel rewards?" for half a second. What who is this talking to? I have fuel rewards Gold for about 10 years and my T-mobile account is linked so I get $0.15 discount Tuesday to Friday. After my credit card went through, which was really fast, I asked the cashier to see if the $0.15 also went through and he said "No discount lol" I said I typed loyalty number. He said "Then maybe. Check at the pump." What? Maybe? Check what at the pump? Ok I didn't want to waste time explaining everything and I walked away. I lost about a dollar or so today. read more

This isn't my usual station to fill up; it was a necessity to stop because I was out of gas on my way to El Cerrito. After reading all of the reviews below, the stars must have been aligned that day, because I was able to easily pull into a pump, park, and go inside to pay in advance. I don't want to risk any card skimmers! I did wait in line for a bit once inside, while a customer chatted with the sole cashier. The woman in front of me was in line for a receipt because she said one hadn't printed out when she had paid for gas and a card wash with a card. The pump worked well. While I was pumping, apparently I caught the eye of the dude at the neighboring pump, who checked me out and then said, "Ehhhllo!" I responded, amused at the bravado : ) This wouldn't happen in The Creek! When I went back inside, the cashier was polite and quick to give me the remaining balance (I NEVER have a balance at my usual gas station!) I did have an issue pulling OUT of the station and I understand the issues that others noted. There ARE only three spaces in front of the store and cars DO pull in from either side and they DON'T check if another car is pulling in or pulling out! Knowing all of these pitfalls, I would cautiously pull in to this station in the future because the gas was a good price and good quality. read more

While driving from Fairfield to San Francisco, I pulled over at this gas station to fill up and use the restroom. I really had to go, lol. After hooking up my car to fill up with 91, I went inside to ask to use the bathroom. I was immediately advised I needed to put a mask on, which I totally went back to my car and got. I really needed to use the restroom and I was asking if they could give me the code, and was met with nothing but absolute rudeness. Especially from Anthony, some little buttwipe who is apparently really miserable with his life and existence and have to pass it on to everyone else. Talk about a horrible experience, he was seriously trying to deny me use of the restroom they have at their gas station, to a completely OVER paying customer. Total asshole!!!!!! Standard selection of gas station food/goods Staff is generally helpful Cons: Small/very little room to navigate and there are commonly mini traffic jams. THE CAR WASH SUCKS.... and it's gone downhill in the last couple years. More than once I've seen it stop working, usually do to some unexplained "user error." (They even had to post additional instructions, likely because it's too easy to mess up) They took away the blow dryer timer, so people exiting the wash don't know how long they have and often drive away with - half dry car. I've had the wash start and just stop working midway (didn't move, none of the lights were flashing, etc), and the solution was to reset the wash and get back in the now 40 minute line with a half washed car. TL;DR - small but standard freeway adjacent gas station. DON'T RISK THE CAR WASH, the odds of it failing far outweigh the time/convenience. read more

The employees at this gas station are incompetent and rude. I went to fill up my truck today and the machines wouldn't read my shell credit l card so after trying 3 different pumps I went inside. There were 3 employees working all of which were terribly rude and completely unhelpful. The "manager" Maria was the worst. They asked me how much gas I wanted and I said I don't know, I just want to fill it up. I told them my gas gauge was broken so I have very little idea of how much gas is in my tank so I really couldn't tell them how much I needed. They kept just saying well we need to know how much before we can ring you up and I was like I already told you I don't know how much I need. I need to use the card like I would at the pump, what is going on here? This went on back and forth for a few more times and Maria the ridiculously unhelpful manager said I don't believe you can't understand what's going on. I left there without being able to get gas which was more than annoying because there wasn't another shell station for miles and I didn't have anything but my shell credit card. Couldn't have they just punched in an amount and then let me fill up the tank with however much I needed then charged me for the amount of gas I actually got? This is a deceptive gas station. First off, it's not a Shell station, it's an off brand gas called Loop. But for some reason they kept the Shell sign up. I only went there because someone gave me a $10 gas card 6 years ago so I figured I could use it for a car wash, right. Wrong! Service is slow & lines are long. i have used this car wash before, I know the pattern of the wash cycle. while it is more expensive than other locations it has been a handy option, until today. NEVER AGAIN! Today, while I paid for the supreme wash I got basic or even less. The brushes didn't spin and wash my car, I just got sprayed, the drier didn't turn on so I left dripping. Okay sometimes things don't work. I went inside to speak to someone. one clerk wasn't helping anyone so I told her something g was wrong, she just looked at me. The other two clerks continued helping other customers. A man came in after me and asked to purchase a car wash which was sold to him. I stated my frustration again when the clerk on the other cash register who had four people in his line said he would help me that I was yelling and screening and he would get to me. while my voice was intense, I was not yelling or screening. I paid for the most expensive option and my car was still dirty: dirt streaks on the front and back windshields, simple dirt stains not removed (not caked on stuff, dirt you can just brush off with a napkin) and soap was left on the back of car. Never ever ever come here for anything ever. It is an absolute nightmare, a complete and total mess every single time. In the dictionary, next to "sh*t show" is a picture of this place... people drive in from every direction, stop anywhere, if you do find a way to pull in, you wont be able to pull out when you're done, there's no room to maneuver, people don't know what to do and double park to go pay.... oh geez, then you get inside! YIKES! I come to this Shell Loop every morning about 4:30 a.m. for coffee and grub for the commute. We all need our coffee at that hour. Apparently, so does the clerk that is there for the purpose of allowing folks to by stuff. After standing there at the register with no one else in the store and the clerk right next to me and after waiting for over a full one-minute, In asked the clerk to if he would help me. His response was "Ya, I'm gonna help you Give me a minute. RELAX" Ill continue to use this station when I must. But will also avoid it when I can. We dont ask for much, but when you're left standing for over minute and wind up having to ask, it is just bad service. But when the clerk tells you to RELAX. It is more than that. TRAPPED! A sign at the car wash entrance is posted advising that it is defective. However, cars appeared at the exit. Upon entering, I found a line of five cars and no way to exit, building on the right and concrete barrier on the left. After literally one half hour I arrived at the car wash. The car was covered with soapy water and rinsed but the brushes contacted only the back half of the car. When finished the car back was still covered with soapy water. This has to be the worst laid out gas station I've ever been to. It has a mini-mart and literally no parking spaces. Literally. There are 3 spots in front of the place: one handicap and the other two are for air and water. I got a car wash today. Because if the layout, I wasn't able to see that there were 4-5 cars in front of me before I trapped myself in. After the wash, because they tried to fit too many pumps in, I had to wait 10 minutes to leave because three cars were taking up the only available exit lanes (because they were inside buying stuff, another byproduct of no parking spots). read more
