Really frustrating experience with one of the workers here. I come in regularly and she sees me all the time, yet every single visit she still makes a huge deal about ID for cigarettes. I understand carding people, but then she acts like she absolutely cannot type in the birthday and has to physically scan the ID every time. Definitely not the worst and definitely not the best place to get gas. In fact, that's definitely one of the more expensive gas options in the area, which is why when I stop by there was nobody pumping their vehicle. I didn't interact with any staff, nor really have anything to complain about other than just stating that this place is imperfect. Unless you really really need to fill up your car, I would encourage others to get no more than a gallon and Feng one of the cheaper options nearby. This Chevron station looks fairly new, wasn't on Yelp! until I added this gas station. This spot is on the corner of Ashby and Telegraph Ave., don't get it confused with the older Chevron station on the corner of Ashby and Shattuck because that station doesn't offer E85 but this spot does. I usually go all the way to the Chevron station in Concord, CA for E85 but after using an app to find the cheapest E85, this is the place. This spot was .70 cents cheaper than my usual spot. I usually stop in this store to get my drinks for the day but after my last visit never again. This place is going to shit. There are always homeless guarding the entrance at this location and it doesn't feel safe. I saw a couple of men smoking Meth right in front of this gas station! What makes matters worst is ,this is a prime location where kids visit after school.The last thing I want is to worry about my child or friends child coming to this unsafe location with the poor management that it has.Changes need to be made at this location fast! The manager was told about the problem and she absolutely does nothing about it, not to mention how she responded to the issue! Store is supose to be open at 6am but the girls just sit inside with the door locked. Laughing at people. Or they put up a note saying there on break. This is every morning from 6am to 7am. There is a pan handler that hangs out at the pumps. When I refused him money he kept hanging around my car. With the pandemic I stayed in my car. The pan handler proceeded to remove the hose and put back in the cradle. I was not able to do myself or get my receipt. Next day I noticed on my credit card bill $84 had been charged. My charge was for $39. I contacted the gas station and reported to Ivy. She reported it to Paula. They now tell me since I didn't replace the nozzle myself they will not reimburse me for the difference. They even were able to see the whole incident on their video feed. Told me I should have call the police. I'm still waiting back from a call from their supervisor. Chevron on Telegraph offering same dollar amount on gas. I don't know how these guys do it but they've managed to keep their prices low for quite awhile. I suspect that the cheap gas station right across the street impacts the price but whatever it is I'm grateful. Occasionally, they've had a pump not working or slacked on general upkeep. Why am I rating this Chevron when people usually only care about gas prices? (myself included). Well, they're the cheapest in the area that I've tried, including other Arcos and Chevrons that advertise lower prices. How do they do this? Pretty simple: they don't tamper with their meters. Logic says when I spend $40 at a cheaper gas station, then I should get more gas in my tank. Not so with at least three other stations (1. Arco on Telegraph/Alcatraz 2. Chevron on Telegraph/55th 3. Arco on Shattuck 51st). At first, I swear I thought I couldn't do math when these 3 stations had lower prices on gas, yet then I noticed that I was filling up with 15+ gallons at times when I only have a 15 gallon tank. So I hop over to this Chevron, throw $40 of gas in my car, and it almost fills the whole tank. I'd call the BBB or the po po on the other stations to teach the owners a lesson, but it ain't worth my time. read more

This is the only chevron in the entire bay area (including San Francisco, concord, Marin and Sunnyvale) where if you share a gas card with your family (each with individual cards), you cannot purchase a small amount of snacks, let alone a bottle of water from their store, even with proper identification. If you are on your way out back home, out for trip or just looking for a quick snack, try the other chevron by shattuck (Near enterprise rental) or even the chevron(w/ store and car wash) by 55th and telegraph ave. My car signalled that I had low tire pressure so I pulled into Chevron, the nearest gas station. Ava was EXCEPTIONAL in service, helping not once, but 3 times as I struggled to get correct pressure into my tires. I even drove around the block to make sure my tires had enough pressure and came back for more air, and Ava still gave me exceptional service never ever making me feel like I was a nuisance for my requests but only giving friendly, helpful service EVERYTIME. She is one amazing employee! I hope management reads this and sees how valuable she is! read more

This is a nice Chevron gas station. It has many pumps and they are nice and spread out. It is veery coveniently located. If you are heading up Ashby to get onto 13 it is easy to hop in and out. The only reason why I don't give it 5 starts is that it is consistently about 5 - 10 cents per gallon more expensive than the Chevron just a few blocks down the road on Shattuck and Ashby. Just plan your route a little more carefull and you can ejoy a much better deal on gas. Still, this is a good place to get cheap gas. read more

I went in the other day trying to cash in a lotto ticket and he refused to scratch it to find the barcode. My girlfriend went in because she knew where it was located but after seeing her ID he insisted that both her ID and the ticket were fake. He was going to just take both from her and insisted that he speak to me instead of my girlfriend. He then told my girlfriend that he doesn't do cash back for lotto tickets and then told me that he didn't sell me this fake ticket so he doesn't have to cash it. I then asked him why he sells them if he doesn't cash them to which he replied go to a different gas station.
