Currently under renovation and temporarily closed. Was surprised to hear of the renovations - didn't remember it looking like it needed anything back when I was last there in the recent past. Good gas prices and convenient to Safeway and In N Out. I like to go to Safeway or Whole Foods usually and the other Safeway in the south shore shopping center seems to be a hassle as Park St moves at a snails pace with multiple red lights. I like a gas station that is clean and where there aren't constant crowds. I usually can get in quickly with little wait. I remember the pumps ran quickly and receipts printed. I'm usually not the kind of guy to get gas at a grocery store but the convenience thing and lack of popularity keeps me returning. read more

Although this Safeway gas station is located about a block away from the store, it sits near an In n Out. There are plenty of gas pumps, including a mini store. It's kept pretty clean, has squeegees with soapy water and paper towels, air hoses, and you can use your Safeway club card to take advantage of any earned points. The employees provide good customer service. Yes, this place does get busy. read more

Tonight I learned that you do not save a penny by buying gas at Safeway. Even after applying my 30 cent per gallon discount, the price was still way too high even by Alameda standards. All one need do is drive to the other side of Alameda and the gas is about 10% cheaper. read more

Safeway Gas Station - Overpriced even by Alameda standards - Gas Stations Near Me - Alameda, California

This is the Safeway gas station you see as you exit the Webster Tube (from Oakland to Alameda) on the rightside. It has 3 islands, with 3 pumps each. It has a mini-mart, air station, and a fairly spacious area. The station is usually clean, and I have never had a problem with the employees. I work in essential services, and I don't get upset if someone doesn't wear a mask properly. This gas station has a great location. It has a bank and popular hamburger place nearby. So you can get gas, money, and fast food. How are the prices? The posted prices are about 10-25 cents lower than the average price per gallon in town, depending on where you go. Not including Safeway Rewards discount. read more

I tend to make this my normal fueling stop as it is close to my work, prices are cheaper and they have 18 fueling spots to get gas. I really enjoy the process of putting in my wifes phone number and watching the pump lower the price for gas. Hell, sometimes you hit the jackpot and receive $1 off per gallon... Safeway gas station is always clean and also pretty easy to navigate. In one side and out the other makes for a simple and fast fueling experience. California has lost its mind with gas tax. As a consumer we must look for every break we can get. Safeway's reward program offers such a break. Since Albertson's owns Safeway, we also build points when we shop at Albertson's in Oregon and Southern California while visiting the kids. The only downside is not having one near my home in Walnut Creek. For now that is not a problem. I just plan my fueling to happen when going into work. Gas is too expensive, why pay more when you can receive a discount at Safeway Gas? That is the question you should ask yourself. I know my answer. What is yours? read more

The gas station is typically clean. The prices are typically great with the bonus of being able to get a special Safeway card discount depending on how much you spend at any Safeway within a month's time. The location is also fairly convenient being at a busy intersection and right by the tunnel that leads to and from the Alameda island. read more

One of the first things you'll notice about this gas station, unlike just about every other station in Alameda.....space. Lots of space. I love it. It has so much space, and so many pumps, I rarely have difficulty getting a pump, or even waiting longer than 1 car. Very clean area. It's noticeably clean and free of rubbish. I actually put air in my tires at the other Safeway Gas Station, a few days ago, and I ha to wait for a while, two cars were ahead of me, and it's very acqward, to get into the space. Not true at the Safeway Gas Station on Alameda Landing. I laughed as I drove away today, seeing about 3 spaces specifically for Air and Water. Why didn't I just go here? Something mentioned no discount for "debit cards." I believe credit cards charge $.10 more per gallon, but my "debit card" without the Mastercard or Visa logo, gets the Cash price. So check that to make sure you pay cash or use a card that gets a debit cash price. No reason to pay more for gas these days. I actually have NEVER gone into the little store to pay or buy stuff. All in good time. RECOMMENDED!!!! read more

Safeway Gas Station - Gas Stations Near Me - Alameda, California

"rack it up, rack it up".... me while grocery shopping so I can rack up my gas points and save heavily at the pump. LOL. I will go to the nearest bank before I pay the extra fee for using my card. That defeats the purposes of getting points. Gotta maximize all my deductions. The staff here is hilarious. They never think the low amount I give will fill up my car and when I go back inside to get my change we just share a laugh and then I reevaluate the smart decision of getting such a small car. I like how this location has several pumps, and I mean several pumps. With one way in and one way out to eliminate congestion. You have to pay attention to the In-N-Out drive through line because some drivers are too busy shoving fries in their mouths and making sure they have what they need while driving that they may hit you as you approach the way out. read more

Safeway Gas Station - Prices are 10 cents more when using a debit/credit card - Gas Stations Near Me - Alameda, California

The location of this gas station allows me to "kill two birds with one stone" since In N Out is in the same plaza and it only makes sense to stop and get gas here, because WHY NOT. For a Safeway gas station, I've never seen the lines get very long, 5 cars or less max, if that. The customers putting gas in the tank have been good about wearing their mask properly, at least the times that I've been there. Another plus would be the open space between gas pumps, you don't have to pull up right next to someone, so it's spacious and cuts contact/exposure with others. read more

While I was at Safeway about 2-1/2 weeks ago for its soft opening, one of the employees told me that the gas station would be opened on or about January 30, 2015. My husband and I stopped at this gas station earlier in the day, as we were somewhat running on fumes - gas needle in car was almost on the "E" line. Time: 4:20 PM Weather: 61 degrees, showers. Regular gas at this station is $2.29 a gallon. Location: on the corner of Mariner Square Loop and Willie Stargell Avenue, directly across the street from the backside of the College of Alameda roadway leading to the campus parking lot, not the location as indicated (the red Yelp logo) on the Google map. Entrance to the gas station is on Mariner Square Loop and the exit is on Willie Stargell Avenue. Gas station can be seen once exiting the Webster Tube from Oakland to Alameda. Ambiance: Very spacious gas station, 3 gasoline pumps on each island. Each pump has 2 gasoline hoses. Eighteen paying customers can pump gas at a time. Across the way, there will be an In & Out Burger coming soon. Husband could have gotten the gas for $1.89 a gallon (4 gas rewards on my Safeway card), but our daughter uses the gas rewards for her vehicle. No long lines here compared to the Safeway Gas Station on Otis Drive. Easy access in and out of this gas station. read more

Safeway Gas Station - Gas Stations Near Me - Alameda, California

Nice clean station on Alameda Island. Gas is $2.87 here (6/20/20) and the cheapest I've seen in Oakland or San Francusco is $3.67 cash plus it's right next door to In n Out read more

Cashier Johnnie started yelling at me the second I walked in to let him know my card wasn't working. The interaction literally made me cry because I wasn't sure what was going on or why he was attacking me. He yelled at me the WHOLE TIME I front of other people so embarrassing, and at the end said "have a nice day" in the rudest way. read more

This Safeway is awful when it comes to customer service. It is always busy and they NEVER have enough registers open. Today, Sunday at 4:45pm, there is only 2 registers open + the self checkout which that alone has about 25 people in line. The other 2 registers have an average of 15 people in line, yet they do not open more registers. Keep in mind that the people that are waiting in line for the 2 open registers, have their carts completely full! I could understand if this is a one off because maybe they had people call out sick, but the fact that is like this ALL THE TIME, is ridiculous and clearly a management issue. They either do not know how to write a schedule to staff correctly or do not care about their customers, or maybe both! read more

It's late at night and the guy ahead of me has a bag of coins. He wants to buy $4.80 worth of gas. A kind customer gives the guy a $5 bill. Yet, the cashier decides to count out the coins. There is now a line waiting for this coin counting transaction to be completed. I'm sorry, but banks won't even accept your loose change unless it's rolled. All I wanted was a bottle of water. I just left. read more

Alameda Landing is the home to Alameda's newest Safeway and gas station opened. The station is located at the edge of the shopping center on Willie Stargell Ave next to the new In-N-Out. The pumps have the extra-long hoses so you can fill up whether you enter the pump island whether your gas fill is located on the left or right side of your car. You need your Safeway Card and pay by either credit or debit at the pump. Otherwise cash payers need to pay inside. Debit and cash payers get a 10 cent a gallon discount. The new station is large, clean and spacious. With three pump stations on each island, there's a total of 18 pumps. Nice choice for your gas needs. read more

Always well lit and super clean with plenty of pumps so the wait is never that long. Not to mention the convenience of pulling straight into line at in and out once you fill your tank. read more

Attendant and manager very condescending and unclear when I asked about the discounts since I just finished grocery shopping at Safeway. Not going to return. Advise others to go somewhere else. read more

We're in the middle of a pandemic that has gone on for sooo long. I haven't gotten my hair cut professionally since early last year. Haven't had a restaurant meal for the same length of time. Wearing my mask when I go to the gas station. On Saturday December 27th the young male employee cleaning the station didn't have his mask on properly. Just covered the mouth. Usually I walk away from people not wearing a mask, but this time I was fueling my car and couldn't. He walked to the front of my car and then behind it. HAVE A TALK WITH THIS EMPLOYEE! read more

Most all the Safeway's my family and I enter always provide superb customer service! However this particular location and it being 4th of July yesterday, I forgot my phone in the deli! Ashley, Not only retrieved my phone to a safe place but I was behind someone who was ordering and Ashley's co worker was a bit slow serving the customer ahead of me. ( not intentionally ) A line started to form behind me and Ashley came to assist and worked quickly and efficiently to accommodate the waiting customers causing the line to quickly disappear! Kudos to Ashley in Deli! Thank you , I appreciate you very much!! Also thank you Cassandra for taking my call when I realized I left my phone. read more

Go to the South Shore location instead!! Stopped off to fill up my Prius and paid for my gas. The tank said to make your selection and when I chose regular nothing came out. I walked in and the cashier had her mask off of her face and rudely said, "What pump?" I told her the issue I was having and she told me to grab one of the guys outside? I asked these two younger guys if they could help me and neither one of them looked like they wanted to be bothered. One of the kids told me to pull up to the next and tell the cashier to reset the pump. I walked back in and the cashier was getting into an argument with another customer. She reset the pump and when I went to use it found out that it wasnt working either. Frustrated, I walked back in and asked for my money back. The cashier threw the money back at me. I used to work for Safeway and if I acted like that I would have been terminated on the spot. Horrible customer service. read more

Best price in the whole bay area, you just won't know it until you slide in your Safeway card.

This is regards to the lady who experienced problems with her card at the pump . I know for a fact that you can only use gift cards inside the kiosk and not at the pump because I am an employee there. Are you sure it was a gift card ? I deeply apologize on behalf of my coworkers and I for you experiencing complications we would NEVER steal from our valued customers. My suggestion would have been to come back and show proof and we would have been glad to give the money back. Our pumps hold a certain amount of money when using at the pump then releases it . Just like I tell all customers it's always BEST to come inside , I know it can be a walk being that our station is huge lol but to avoid any problems at the pumps it's definitely better to pay inside . Our pumps are spanking brand new only 7 months old so there are definitely a lot of kinks jams and the inability to read cards sometimes so no it's not your cards it's the pumps ! we have no control over why it doesn't read cards sometimes, we clean the card readers daily , just come inside it's a smoother ride ! Love the 5 stars makes me feel good that my and so as my coworkers work ethics are greatly recognized ! read more
