I like a gas station that is clean and where there aren't constant crowds. I usually can get in quickly with little wait. I remember the pumps ran quickly and receipts printed. It has a mini-mart, air station, and a fairly spacious area. The station is usually clean, and I have never had a problem with the employees. I work in essential services, and I don't get upset if someone doesn't wear a mask properly. This gas station has a great location. It has a bank and popular hamburger place nearby. So you can get gas, money, and fast food. How are the prices? The posted prices are about 10-25 cents lower than the average price per gallon in town, depending on where you go. I tend to make this my normal fueling stop as it is close to my work, prices are cheaper and they have 18 fueling spots to get gas. I really enjoy the process of putting in my wifes phone number and watching the pump lower the price for gas. Hell, sometimes you hit the jackpot and receive $1 off per gallon... Safeway gas station is always clean and also pretty easy to navigate. In one side and out the other makes for a simple and fast fueling experience. California has lost its mind with gas tax. As a consumer we must look for every break we can get. Safeway's reward program offers such a break. Since Albertson's owns Safeway, we also build points when we shop at Albertson's in Oregon and Southern California while visiting the kids. The only downside is not having one near my home in Walnut Creek. For now that is not a problem. I just plan my fueling to happen when going into work. One of the first things you'll notice about this gas station, unlike just about every other station in Alameda.....space. Lots of space. I love it. It has so much space, and so many pumps, I rarely have difficulty getting a pump, or even waiting longer than 1 car. Very clean area. It's noticeably clean and free of rubbish. I actually put air in my tires at the other Safeway Gas Station, a few days ago, and I ha to wait for a while, two cars were ahead of me, and it's very acqward, to get into the space. Something mentioned no discount for "debit cards." I believe credit cards charge $.10 more per gallon, but my "debit card" without the Mastercard or Visa logo, gets the Cash price. So check that to make sure you pay cash or use a card that gets a debit cash price. No reason to pay more for gas these days. I actually have NEVER gone into the little store to pay or buy stuff. For a Safeway gas station, I've never seen the lines get very long, 5 cars or less max, if that. This Safeway is awful when it comes to customer service. It is always busy and they NEVER have enough registers open. Today, Sunday at 4:45pm, there is only 2 registers open + the self checkout which that alone has about 25 people in line. The other 2 registers have an average of 15 people in line, yet they do not open more registers. Keep in mind that the people that are waiting in line for the 2 open registers, have their carts completely full! I could understand if this is a one off because maybe they had people call out sick, but the fact that is like this ALL THE TIME, is ridiculous and clearly a management issue. Alameda Landing is the home to Alameda's newest Safeway and gas station opened. The station is located at the edge of the shopping center on Willie Stargell Ave next to the new In-N-Out. The pumps have the extra-long hoses so you can fill up whether you enter the pump island whether your gas fill is located on the left or right side of your car. You need your Safeway Card and pay by either credit or debit at the pump. Otherwise cash payers need to pay inside. Debit and cash payers get a 10 cent a gallon discount. The new station is large, clean and spacious. With three pump stations on each island, there's a total of 18 pumps. Nice choice for your gas needs. read more

We're in the middle of a pandemic that has gone on for sooo long. I haven't gotten my hair cut professionally since early last year. Haven't had a restaurant meal for the same length of time. Go to the South Shore location instead!! Stopped off to fill up my Prius and paid for my gas. The tank said to make your selection and when I chose regular nothing came out. I walked in and the cashier had her mask off of her face and rudely said, "What pump?" I told her the issue I was having and she told me to grab one of the guys outside? I asked these two younger guys if they could help me and neither one of them looked like they wanted to be bothered. One of the kids told me to pull up to the next and tell the cashier to reset the pump. I walked back in and the cashier was getting into an argument with another customer. She reset the pump and when I went to use it found out that it wasnt working either. Frustrated, I walked back in and asked for my money back. The cashier threw the money back at me. This is regards to the lady who experienced problems with her card at the pump . I know for a fact that you can only use gift cards inside the kiosk and not at the pump because I am an employee there. Are you sure it was a gift card ? I deeply apologize on behalf of my coworkers and I for you experiencing complications we would NEVER steal from our valued customers. My suggestion would have been to come back and show proof and we would have been glad to give the money back. Our pumps hold a certain amount of money when using at the pump then releases it . Just like I tell all customers it's always BEST to come inside , I know it can be a walk being that our station is huge lol but to avoid any problems at the pumps it's definitely better to pay inside . Our pumps are spanking brand new only 7 months old so there are definitely a lot of kinks jams and the inability to read cards sometimes so no it's not your cards it's the pumps ! we have no control over why it doesn't read cards sometimes, we clean the card readers daily , just come inside it's a smoother ride !
