Every stylist is so sweet and professional and they always make you feel taken care of. Booking online is super easy and their blow dry bar club, which gives you 4 blowouts for $99, is such a great deal especially for the holidays when you want to look your best. Joslyn, Danielle and Zoey are my favorites but honestly everyone there is wonderful. I was so well taken care of. the thoughts and pictures I had for what I thought I wanted were closely related to. Toni was amazing and explained everything so well. what I could expect, how long it would take and how beautiful the color would be. And she was right! The atmosphere was calming and quiet. no loud obnoxious music. I told the owner how much I appreciated the Christian environment and he even prayed with me before I left. Very unprofessional!! I set up a consultation almost a week before, only to get there for my appointment and the front desk girl booked it for the wrong time. I again explained. I would have never booked an appointment that early considering I work until 5 and told the woman Tessa that I had the consultation with told me no one was available... If I wanted, I could come back the next day at 11am after telling her multiple times I WORK!!! MIND YOU I ALMOST WAS ABOUT TO PAY OVER $400. Don't go there!! This place is an escape from reality full of wonderful ladies that know how to do some serious hair! The staff work together harmoniously and make the atmosphere here very comfortable. The decor is beautiful. Everything is new, clean, and sleek. There are crystal chandeliers, comfy chairs, and you can even kick your feet up with reclining seats at the shampoo bowls! They sell top of the line hair products and educate you on how to appropriately use them. If you follow them on Facebook or Instagram you can really see lots of pics that show the before and after magic that these ladies can work! This place is located in a busy strip plaza so I strongly recommended that you call to make an appointment rather than walk-in unless you're either very lucky or very patient...but the hair you leave with nonetheless is so completely worth the wait! read more

I am one of those people who gets into long-term relationships with my stylists. Years and years I am with my people. So, when it's time to move on, it can be sad and nerve wracking. Yelp to the rescue! After scouring the local Yelp hair salons (thanks for the pics of your results y'all!) I thought Shear Joy might be a great spot. I was a little nervous, because I am not a religious person, and their website/social media did have some spiritual leanings. Sometimes that vibe can make me feel unwelcome, but not for one moment did I feel anything of the sort. This place is filled with happy, caring, kind people who all seem to really enjoy what they do and each other. The company chooses a charity every quarter to donate part of the profits towards, and it was wonderful to hear them discuss making a difference in the community. I really felt enveloped in goodness and kindness while I was there. The salon: Located in the Winn-Dixie plaza on McMullen Booth, there is ample parking. Upon entering, the salon is clean, modern and simply but beautifully appointed. There are a variety of beverages for clients to enjoy during their stay, including wine. Right now there is a 'new customer' coupon on their website, so don't forget to sign up to get it in your email. The prices are good, in line with similar salons. My stylist was Alyssa, and I can't say enough about how great she was (everyone was great, but Alyssa had to do my massive mane). I didn't know what cut I wanted and I had some serious need of help with my roots and color. Not only did she give me a wonderful color, she gave me a cut that is flattering, fun and greatly reduced the bulk of my hair (I have a LOT of fine hairs). I feel like a million bucks and like I look like 'myself' if that makes sense. I also had a great time while I was there, chatting with Alyssa and some of the other lovely ladies. So, if you're in need of talented stylists in a warm, friendly environment, you should definitely give Shear Joy a shot. If I could give this place a zero I would. I simply came in for my very first time for a consultation and apparently they had another lady with the same first name. They didn't bother to check last names or what each of us was getting because they started foils on her and said they couldn't accommodate me until later. I just wanted a hair consult that could have taken 5-10 minutes and they couldn't do that?!? I didn't have time to stick around. If they simply would have asked if I wanted someone else to give the consult I might have stayed. Never retuning. A ton more (better) salons in the area. Lindsey is amazing! She takes her time, never rushes through, and always listens and advises. Moreover, she is kind and honest. Lindsey knows I don't like red because I naturally pull red therefore, she will explain to me what the colors I choose might actually turn out like (most never like the picture lol). I always leave feeling wonderful and confident~ not to mention beautiful! The stylists here are master color artist and believe me when I tell you this is priceless. I found the prices to be comparable or lower than many places around the area but, the work is better! I have lived in the area my whole life so I can make a true opinion.
