The experience I had with Mandy, Danielle, and Aaliyah was incredible!! The attention to detail, kindness, and knowledgeability meant so much to me. I came in for a color correction and they explained each step carefully and made me feel right at home. The salon is also very clean and organized. read more

What an amazing Salon! I walked into Shear Joy Salon and was immediately greeted by two lovely young ladies. I had a Wishes and Wigs for Cancer appointment with Mia. A customer finished her appointment and walked to the front desk with her stylist. I complimented the stylist on the beautiful haircut and style and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was Mia! Mia patiently walked me through the pictures of wigs and gave great advice. She even prayed for me while trimming my hair. Long story short, I was so impressed with Shear Joy Salon and Mia that I know I have found my new salon. read more

I haven't used Shear Joy for color yet but I'm part of their blow dry bar and it's amazing. This local salon is always beautifully decorated and has such a welcoming vibe. Every stylist is so sweet and professional and they always make you feel taken care of. Booking online is super easy and their blow dry bar club, which gives you 4 blowouts for $99, is such a great deal especially for the holidays when you want to look your best. Joslyn, Danielle and Zoey are my favorites but honestly everyone there is wonderful. If you're looking for a friendly local salon that consistently delivers great blowouts and service, Shear Joy is the place. read more

Cute place well decorated very friendly love the atmosphere. I had Ashley cut my hair and give me a color consultation. Really enjoyed my time with her. She did a great shaggy bob. It was my first time there, but my daughter has also been and saw a different stylist. We both walked away with the same takeaways- very nice salon, but pricey for additional services like color, etc. read more

Service by Devyn excellent. Professional, good listener and she suggested a conditioning treatment that has my highlighted hair feeling healthy and so soft. Hours at this salon amazing. Open to 9 pm, helping we working folks get service during the week. Thank you! Very bright and inviting, friendly upbeat full service salon. TIP: Ask about packages. I joined the Wash and Blow Out Club with a very reasonably priced package of 4 wash and blow outs within 90 days read more

I looked beautiful when I left and I felt pampered during the process . I will go back again

I was so well taken care of. the thoughts and pictures I had for what I thought I wanted were closely related to. Toni was amazing and explained everything so well. what I could expect, how long it would take and how beautiful the color would be. And she was right! The atmosphere was calming and quiet. no loud obnoxious music. I told the owner how much I appreciated the Christian environment and he even prayed with me before I left. I will definitely be going here again when I am back in Clearwater!!!! blessings! read more

I've been seeing my stylist Devyn Wallingford for over 5 months now. I love how she has transformed my hair! I have very fine hair. She has been covering my greys with beautiful tones of color. I love the way she does long layers in my hair where I actually have some bounce to it now. She reviews the plan for my hairstyle and what we can actually achieve. Shes easy to talk to, explains everything so we are on the same page. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a new hair stylist. The salon is clean and has a great vibe. Everyone is friendly. I have always hated my hair, and finally I love how it feels and how easy is to fix. The hair products here are more natural and my hair is so soft. read more

This was my first visit to Sheer Joy Hair Salon. I had the same stylist for 5+ years, but when I moved to FL it was not easy finding someone I felt comfortable with, who was experienced with styling very thick hair. Angela did a great job today on my hair, I finally feel like I found the right place and stylist...it looks gorgeous! The salon is clean and well organized, warm and welcoming. If you are looking for a stylist, call Sheer Joy and ask for Angela...you won't be disappointed! read more

I needed to get my greys covered and an update. I love the time Devyn took to make sure we came up with a good plan to cover the grey and give some life back into my hair. I received a Great Color with low lights, a bonding treatment and a beautiful gloss that made my hair look so shiny. The new layered cut is just what I needed. I love the warm color and the entire experience. The Salon is clean and comfortable. Everyone was really friendly. And I also appreciated that the owner was cutting hair alongside the other stylists.. sharing tips and I feel it was a great environment to be around. read more

Very unprofessional!! I set up a consultation almost a week before, only to get there for my appointment and the front desk girl booked it for the wrong time. I again explained. I would have never booked an appointment that early considering I work until 5 and told the woman Tessa that I had the consultation with told me no one was available... If I wanted, I could come back the next day at 11am after telling her multiple times I WORK!!! MIND YOU I ALMOST WAS ABOUT TO PAY OVER $400. Don't go there!! THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO RESPECT!!!!! ALL I CAN DO IS THANK THE GOOD LORD, I NEVER MADE IT TO THAT CHAIR... I can only imagine the disaster!!! I could continue with the whole conversation... however, it would be a waste of my time... just, a heads up!! read more

This place is an escape from reality full of wonderful ladies that know how to do some serious hair! The staff work together harmoniously and make the atmosphere here very comfortable. The decor is beautiful. Everything is new, clean, and sleek. There are crystal chandeliers, comfy chairs, and you can even kick your feet up with reclining seats at the shampoo bowls! They sell top of the line hair products and educate you on how to appropriately use them. If you follow them on Facebook or Instagram you can really see lots of pics that show the before and after magic that these ladies can work! This place is located in a busy strip plaza so I strongly recommended that you call to make an appointment rather than walk-in unless you're either very lucky or very patient...but the hair you leave with nonetheless is so completely worth the wait! read more

Today I went for corrective coloring. Josie, my stylist, was very professional and knowledgeable. She was also very personable. She transformed my hair from over processed highlights to my original brunette color, only better. It's a beautiful salon and the pricing is very reasonable. I already made another appointment and plan on being a long term customer. read more

I am one of those people who gets into long-term relationships with my stylists. Years and years I am with my people. So, when it's time to move on, it can be sad and nerve wracking. Yelp to the rescue! After scouring the local Yelp hair salons (thanks for the pics of your results y'all!) I thought Shear Joy might be a great spot. I was a little nervous, because I am not a religious person, and their website/social media did have some spiritual leanings. Sometimes that vibe can make me feel unwelcome, but not for one moment did I feel anything of the sort. This place is filled with happy, caring, kind people who all seem to really enjoy what they do and each other. The company chooses a charity every quarter to donate part of the profits towards, and it was wonderful to hear them discuss making a difference in the community. I really felt enveloped in goodness and kindness while I was there. The salon: Located in the Winn-Dixie plaza on McMullen Booth, there is ample parking. Upon entering, the salon is clean, modern and simply but beautifully appointed. There are a variety of beverages for clients to enjoy during their stay, including wine. Right now there is a 'new customer' coupon on their website, so don't forget to sign up to get it in your email. The prices are good, in line with similar salons. My stylist was Alyssa, and I can't say enough about how great she was (everyone was great, but Alyssa had to do my massive mane). I didn't know what cut I wanted and I had some serious need of help with my roots and color. Not only did she give me a wonderful color, she gave me a cut that is flattering, fun and greatly reduced the bulk of my hair (I have a LOT of fine hairs). I feel like a million bucks and like I look like 'myself' if that makes sense. I also had a great time while I was there, chatting with Alyssa and some of the other lovely ladies. So, if you're in need of talented stylists in a warm, friendly environment, you should definitely give Shear Joy a shot. I am thrilled I did and am looking forward to my already-booked next appointment. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. I simply came in for my very first time for a consultation and apparently they had another lady with the same first name. They didn't bother to check last names or what each of us was getting because they started foils on her and said they couldn't accommodate me until later. I just wanted a hair consult that could have taken 5-10 minutes and they couldn't do that?!? I didn't have time to stick around. If they simply would have asked if I wanted someone else to give the consult I might have stayed. Never retuning. A ton more (better) salons in the area. A shame since a coworker referred me there. read more

Angela did an amazing job! It was a super busy and I was a walk-in, but she took her time and gave me exactly what I wanted! The salon is gorgeous and everyone I came in contact with was super friendly! Definitely recommend! read more

Lindsey is amazing! She takes her time, never rushes through, and always listens and advises. Moreover, she is kind and honest. Lindsey knows I don't like red because I naturally pull red therefore, she will explain to me what the colors I choose might actually turn out like (most never like the picture lol). I always leave feeling wonderful and confident~ not to mention beautiful! The stylists here are master color artist and believe me when I tell you this is priceless. I found the prices to be comparable or lower than many places around the area but, the work is better! I have lived in the area my whole life so I can make a true opinion. This salon is very stylish and clean! The owner lives in my neighborhood (I was searching for a new stylist and was referred) and I always love to support local business over chains! Picture to follow this next masterpiece. read more

I went to Courtney based on a recommendation and she sure didn't disappoint. Not only did she make me feel very comfortable and do a very thorough consultation, but she delivered the best haircut I've had in a very long time. I have very thick hair, curly and it does weird things. I really didn't expect her to get it right, because few people do. She knew exactly what to do and she did not rush me. She took her time and went above and beyond to give me the look I asked for. Five stars for this amazing stylist, I already made my next appointment. I will follow her for life. read more
