I'm 99% sure this salon only has good ratings because they make sign paperwork assuring you won't leave a poor review in order to get your money back for services they 100% screw up. First of all a stylist fried my hair off, a friend of mine got a chemical haircut and scabs all over her head from bleach burns, my other close friend got her hair turned bright orange and s can't for the life of me understand how they are still in business other than trying to intimidate customers out of honest reviews. Kara is amazing! Has done my hair twice now, fixing a not so great layered cut from a different salon and then another cut a few months later. My hair looks fantastic and I love the blowout and style she does! I'd come in just for that. She also waxes my eyebrows. I am super picky about my brow and she always makes them look perfect. I'm willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day but I wouldn't feel right not sharing my experience. This was my first time. I booked a deluxe pedicure for 60 minutes. The lady started 30 minutes late and she rushed my pedicure. There wasn't anything deluxe about it. She even asked me to choose due to her cramped time which was more important, the massage or skin removal. What?!?! I get to the register after my 30 minute pedicure and they charge me for the deluxe!!!! I didn't have the strength to even argue. So disappointed.Oh and she got her long fingernail in my polish and didn't take the time to fix it. read more

I have missed Kailah and the entire Salon Solei team over the last several weeks. They are my hometown salon and I'm always popping in to ask random hair questions or pick out supplies so it's been difficult. My hair feels heavy and messy since being in Quaretine and I'm so excited they have reopened safely. Kailah always goes the extra mile to make sure I'm happy and she pushes me to be bolder with my hair. I wanted a new trendy style, beach waves, and Cindy gave me a great cut. When she styled it she explained and showed me how to achieve the look so that I could do it when I went home, along with recommendations on styling products. The girl worked on my hair was very careful because it was my first time there. She studied me and did her best and such attitude satisfied me. I will go back to her next time and try some thing new. I have been going to this salon for over 2 years. Everyone there has been great. Forgive my spelling but Kayla(hope that is right) is amazing. No matter where I go everyone asks me who does my hair. To me a good haircut means that even after 4-6 weeks it keeps its shape even if it is time for another one. Will not let anyone else touch my hair accept the girls at this salon. I booked an appointment days in advance and was called the night before my 10 am appointment to tell me the stylist's schedule was double booked. I suppose the other appointment was more important than mine, so I was told to pick a different stylist or reschedule. The only reason I was given was a "glitch" in their online system, so ultimately it was on me to rearrange my schedule due to their error. I was hoping Salon Solei would offer a little more assistance in fitting me in somewhere with the stylist I scheduled with on the day I booked due to the error not being on my part, or at the bare minimum contacting me to alert me of this issue sooner than the night before the appointment, however that was not the case. I decided to cancel the appointment and book with Salon West, who luckily found an opening and got me in first thing in the morning. read more

I've been going to this salon for about 5 years and its the best in the Tampa bay area in my opinion! I went to several salons around the area, including La Mirage, and every stylist would never do what I asked so I kept bouncing around (La Mirage even made my hair so bleached it was almost blue once!) I have never had anything but great results with my hair coming out of this salon and have used 3 or 4 different stylists. When you say an inch, they actually cut an inch, not 2 or 3 like a lot of stylists! Not sure what thats about. I usually get my hair colored and cut when I go and Ive had blonde and brown hair and it always looks natural (which is what I like). I get my nails done here as well every so often and always get shellac/gel which lasts on me usually a month. I have been to other (Asian) nail salons and it last 2, maybe 3, if i'm really lucky. I also prefer to support family owned businesses rather than chains anyway, so unless I move out of the area, I'll continue to go here! read more
