Hate to downgrade anyone. I should have waited after I washed my hair to post anything. That is a litmus test of a good or a bad haircut. I didn't realize how very short my hair was cut. How many layers were added where layers had never been. I could only wear hats because my hair was too short to manage. I put on my big girl pants and texted Chantelle; told her I was just going to go somewhere else i'm not say anything, but realized I should give her something constructive to work on. She told me to come in, and she was a bit defensive when I explained to her calmly and without attitude my objections. She really didn't seem to get it, kept talking about my curls. My boyfriend was present so I wasn't imagining her comments. The color also was already coming out by the roots less than two weeks later, so she said she would redo the color and put in Charitan to relax it. Scheduled something for the following week but I had an emergency and had to cancel. Then I was going out of town and the day I gave her to do it instead she was not available. I decided to just forget it after that and move on. The bottom line: I guess it is your hair! If you have a good experience, and that is fantastic. I unfortunately did not. Hair still extremely difficult for me to manage five weeks later. Need to let it grow out before it gets cut again.. read more

I just received a fantastic cut and color from Chantelle. My hair has been peacock blue for ages and I had to get it back to "normal" for a job. After stripping the blue out twice it had finally faded to a pale green. It was pretty fried. Chantelle did some highlights and then did a rinse that turned the green to a silvery blonde. It was not quite what I expected but I love it!! She solved my color problem effortlessly and then gave me a super haircut. My hair looks shiny and healthy again! Her prices are reasonable and her place is so comfy and cute. And the most important thing is, SHE LISTENS!! Today was my first visit to Chantelle Hair Studio, but it certainly won't be my last. I'm in town visiting family and wasn't sure where to go. After a surgery and long recovery process, my hair was WAY overdo for a cut and color. I sometimes feel nervous when trialing a new salon, but how fortunate I feel to have found Chantelle online. Both the salon and Chantelle herself were just plain lovely. I have long blonde hair and I prefer a more natural look with my highlights. Chantelle took my hair from black hair to a beautiful blonde/caramel summer look! I was on a search for someone to work on my hair the way I want it for this season. I wanted a changed and I contacted many stylists charging double and almost triple what Chantelle would charge. I love how she uses vegan products and there's no smell/no bleach smell. The hair shampoo/conditioner is a nice light smell. It was definitely tough to explain what kind of look I was going for and Chantelle is super talented and was able to do something that will work with my skin tone.
