Yesterday I got my first Deva Cut by Marisol at Curl Power@ My Salon in Largo, Fl, level 2. I have…read morebeen doing the CGM since 11/18 and wish I saw her much sooner. I felt like I wasted so much time and money on products that didn't quite work. And failed techniques. I felt my curls definately improved from the start of my process but I was stuck. Like dieting, lol. Okay let's get to my visit! I went to the salon with 2 day old hair. Marisol took her time to find out the history of my hair and my process. She shared her CG journey with me as well. I was doing many things right but I needed to tweak my routine. She started by clipping my hair and trimming from the back working her way up and around...curl by curl. When she washed my hair she used Buildup Buster twice. It's a "clarifier". She said I had a lot of build up and proved it to me. That surprised me because I clarified two weeks ago and I use a CG shampoo twice a week. She washed my hair and conditioned my hair. I told her my hair gets so knotty at the nap of my hair. She said I need to use MORE water. (I'm low porosity). She finger detangled my hair....amazing! And fast too! Not 20 minutes like when I do it, lol. She was very gentle and only used a small amount of conditioner. When your hair frizzes it needs more water. I felt I knew all this but I didn't "apply" everything correctly. She used the Ultra Defining Gel and a tad bit of Styling Cream. Not too much product. She showed me how to refresh without frizz too. This is a big issue for me. She gave me samples and a booklet and of course if I had any questions to contact her again. She was amazing. If you're in the Tampa Bay Area and are in need of help please don't hesitate and go see her.

Thankfully I discovered Marisol, who is a Diva Curl Certified Advanced Stylist and Product Expert. I had a wonderful time while Marisol cut and styled my hair. She patiently taught me the correct way to wash and style curly hair and she took the time to make sure I completely understood each step. I had been doing it all wrong! I am thrilled to now have "wash and go" hair, that I can easily "refresh" the next day. The shine is returning and I am so excited to see the curls emerging. I am delighted with how much more curly my hair is now. I even had a compliment my first time out in public! I am truly grateful to have discovered Marisol and I look forward to my next appointment with her!

I personally come to Rocio because she's one the best, she's not only kind to her customers but also very affordable. I've been coming to here for 3 years now and I wouldn't change her for anything. She is from Mexico and she speaks both English and Spanish, it's mainly her doing the cutting so I wouldn't recommend going on a Saturday or Friday night, those are her busy days and you might have to wait.

In each of my appts and both haircuts for for my tween children he was treating us how to care for our hair, style hair and the best products to achieve the look. Trust me, book with Josh, he's a star!

Since then I have had a host of hair nightmares; just like I did during my last stay in Florida (Miami). Not sure what is going on with the stylist in FL; in Miami I had to resort to flying my stylist in every 3 months. Backstory St. Pete: My first stylist was late and did an so-so keratin treatment. I was in need of color so I went back...he was late again so I left. Found someone to dye my hair (a very well known salon) - that lady did the color wrong so they had to redo and do it darker since it was such a mess. Then I needed a partial sew-in...found a salon (well if you want to call it that)...I walked out looking beyond HOT MESS. I wanted to cry but I was so upset I could not. I came home and found Versatile Styling here on Yelp! I was able to be seen immediately (even though they were closing) and the stylist was patient (remember I was frazzled) and did a pretty good partial sew in and an awesome blow-out. She has a good selection of products and a wide range of talents. Please try this place.

I thought he may have figured out how to compensate for it but he obviously hasn't. He tried to free hand the flat top and it just didn't work.
