Hands down one of the best Chicken Gyros I've had in a long time! The taste was absolutely spot-on - perfectly seasoned, juicy chicken with that authentic grilled flavor, fresh tomatoes, onions, and a generous amount of creamy tzatziki that tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was packed with flavor, not too heavy, not too light, just perfect. The quantity was seriously impressive too - a really hearty portion that left me full and satisfied without feeling stuffed. Great value for the price! One small tip for anyone ordering: definitely ask for it without lettuce. Skip it, and you'll enjoy the gyro at its absolute best - trust me, it's way better that way. Highly recommend this place! Well, you can't live on Indian food alone on the long drive from Portland to Yakima and so I stopped in The Dalles at the food cart pod on the west end of town and tried this place. TL/DR: Great food, generous portions, good variety. Worth the stop along the freeway! The owner is a friend from Amayah's in Bigg's Junction and I'm all about supporting good people. He just took over this cart and is closely examining the recipes and tweaking them. Thus far, the results have been very good, a touch more garlic here, a little less oregano there. It's attention to detail and i appreciate it not just being food-service pre-prepared food. Starting with Gyros, the owner's wife ad he joked that it took several tries before she could actually make the whole thing wrap together. The portions are generous, the sauces make the process slippery, and it needs to be approachable so you can actually eat it without deconstructing the whole thing. I loved the laughter between them which bespoke the desire to get things right as a higher priority than perfection out of the gate. I like people who appreciate the process. I've tried the Loaded Fries, the Falafel Plate, and the Lamb Gyro thus far, returning to the Lamb Gyro several times. The loaded fried are LOADED, generous portion covered in (in this case) spiced chicken (still juicy) and drizzled with sauces. Very messy to eat, but wonderful! The falafel, formed by hand before frying, was crispy and had that variation in textures, smooth and chunky, and just the right spices. It was also easier to eat than the fries in the car. I make this drive several times a week and I now stop here and at the Amayah's with about equal frequency, and that is some high praise! Check this place out. The service was amazing. Super nice people and it made the experience pleasant. The price of the food was reasonable. The one thing that really turned me off was the amount of sauce in my chicken wrap. Everything was soaked in this white sauce. The sauce didn't taste bad either, it was just sooooo much. As im eating the wrap the sauce is dripping from the bottom. I ordered a wrap because i wanted to keep things clean but this was a mess. A lot less sauce and this thing would've been great. As you can see in the picture the sauce was just dripping out the more I squeezed. read more
