I went on a busy Friday night and was sat right at my reservation time. Our server was personable and friendly. They had a small mocktail selection with creative options. I went with the "worth a chai", which was spicy, sweet, and tangy. The tasting menu was $75 each for two people and we got a total of 9 dishes and left full and with leftovers. Not one dish wasn't delicious and I enjoyed how each dish had an unexpected flavor or textural element to keep things interesting. All the ingredients felt fresh and the dishes were bright in color and taste. Despite the larger quantity of food, the meal overall felt well- balanced, healthy, and not too heavy or decadent. I keep thinking about the hamachi crudo that came with this amazing smoky eggplant that complemented the vinaigrette on the fish perfectly. The radicchio salad was addictingly good with the fruity burst of sweetness from the cherries. The hummus is insanely rich and pairs well with the thick, fluffy pita. I could keep going on about each dish, but these were my absolute standouts. I especially appreciated the timing of the dishes. New dishes came out right as we were finishing the last. I will be coming back here to try more of the menu.

The labneh was more like Greek yogurt than cheese, which isn't a bad thing, but I would have liked a little more saltiness. The Harissa Spice Shrimp, on the other hand, was fantastic. Definitely the standout item we actually ordered. The Baked Eggplant was good too, although it didn't quite wow me. I think there was some mix up, as we were first served the Roasted Eggplant Dip. We flagged the server down to say it wasn't what we ordered, but they let us keep it. Boy were we happy about this! It was the best dish of the night (and a must reorder). i had the most amazing experience here! the place is fully decorated in jordanian style interior…read more it's very interesting to see how they mix different colors and textures while still maintaining a balanced look. the place feels very homey and comforting. when we first walked in they let us pick between tradition seating and regular seating. i opted for traditional seating since i wanted to get the full experience. while deciding on what to order, i asked the staff what he recommended, and he became very excited. he was so happy to share his culture and explain the dishes to us. we shared the maqluba because it is a dish i have been interested in trying for a very long time. he did a handwash for us before the food came out. he also gave us some complimentary hot tea and even refilled it without us asking for it. his service was truly above and beyond. the maqluba was so delicious. the meat was super tender and fell apart so easily. the flavors were so deep and rich, i can tell they put a lot of care into the process of cooking. the sauce was slightly spicy which only added to the diversity of flavors. i can't put into words how good it was. we also got katayef for dessert, which had a crispy crust and came with vanilla ice cream. that was unlike anything i've had before. the contrast between the warmth of the pastry and the vanilla ice cream made such a good combination. our server even mentioned that he makes the dough himself! our server truly made this experience very special and heartwarming. i'm so happy he was able to share a part of his story with us.

To be as fair as possible in my evaluation of the two carts, I decided to order the exact same thing to eat - except for the sauce. The giant falafel suj was super tasty and the spicy garlic sauce was the perfect complement to all the falafels that were wrapped up in a gigantic flour tortilla. Also filled with lettuce, tomatoes, tzatziki, onions and that oh-so-delicious spicy garlic sauce, the falafel suj hit the spot. Very filling! I just can't believe all that goodness stuffed into that huge tortilla. Oregon City Brewing offers indoor seating with public restrooms and a nice adjacent parking lot as well as a covered outdoor seating area. A full range of beers and ciders are also available. I've been to other Mediterranean food carts but Alani's two locations were top notch with freshly fried falafels and fresh veggies, making Alani my new go-to for Mediterranean food. Next time, I'll be ordering something different, especially after reading the reviews of other things on their menu.
