On this occasion, we got the gyro sandwich and the beef shawarma sandwich. Decent amount of gyro but definitely looks commercially made and reheated. Flavor is good. Toppings were fresh and sauces/hummus were tasty. Beef shawarma was a bit on the dry side but stil decently good flavor. The shawarma are okay sized, not super filled but decently filled. I do feel like it would take 1.5 sandwiches to satisfy me for lunch. Price: Pretty cheap if you buy 2 or 3 so bring someone to share with you!

Had a family run vibe. There are lots of reviews with high marks so it seems like a sure bet... we tried the chicken and beef shwarma plates. The overall portion was good but there wasn't enough of the beef or chicken. Didn't look the the majority of pictures where there is more meat. Have a look at my pics vs the other pics on the yelp page. The flavors on the meat might have been tuned for a western audience and seemed muted. The chicken was better than the beef. Neither was cut from the vertical rotisserie and were sitting in the bins... seemed dry. I would have thought if it's at the end of the day and the quality isn't as good as at the beginning of the day you would like on the meat... instead if trying to stretch it out lowering the quality of the meal even more. Sadly I won't be going back.

It was just a regular old Wednesday hump day so I thought I'd be in and out quickly but this place was busy! There was a line when we got there, one when we left, and frequent visits by food delivery drivers (Uber, Skip The Dishes). The service was a little bit slow because they were interweaving a lot of orders together so it might not be the best idea if you're in a rush. One kind of funny moment was when we asked for no onions which the employee acknowledged, then proceeded to throw them on, but then quickly rectified their mistake. They told us it's the muscle memory kicking in. They are also cash and debit card payment only. The prices are actually very good for the quantity of food that you get. Their number 6 combo is two shawarmas for $10.99 and they are massive...the size of a golden retriever's head. Yes, an odd comparison but I noticed the similarity in size when my dog was begging me for a bite. You can get chicken, beef, or mixed as a choice for any shawarma order. They were very generous with the meat and with the sauce which is key and very tasty, especially the garlic sauce. The best bites were really the ones that had a bit of everything - sauce, veggies, and meat. One of the combos that we got came with a side of fries. These were fresh out of the fryer and managed to survive a ~15 minute drive home and were still very crispy. Amazing indeed!

Their menu is simple, offering chicken, beef, or vegetables in your choice of pita, laffa, or in a bowl with rice or salad. We opted for the Chicken Shawarma Laffa and the Falafel Rice Bowl. Both dishes were prepared for takeout, reflecting the casual atmosphere of this place. Disposable cutlery and napkins were readily available. Laffa, if you're unfamiliar is like an Iraqi flatbread. The chicken shawarma was wrapped tightly in it, along with a generous amount of vegetables, with more vegetables on the side. This was very flavourful. The Falafel Rice Bowl, a vegetarian dish, was served with rice and vegetables. It was very colourful and delicious! Overall, the food was very flavourful and we enjoyed it a lot.

I ordered the following items: - Shish taouk and kefta (BOGO) - Baklava I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my order to be ready. I took me a bit longer to arrive at this location after running a couple of errands. It was easy finding this location. It's on the main floor of an office building. Parking is paid. However, if you're a customer of Shawarma Box Plus, you get 45 minutes for free parking. I parked and headed inside the eatery. Staff had just mopped the floor. There was a sign to be careful. I stood at the counter. There were a few customers placing orders. A nice man came over to help me. I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. He found it and handed me my food. I thanked him and happily left. There were plenty of spots to sit down and eat at this eatery. I headed home to have dinner. I had one order for dinner that evening and the other the following night. I loved the shish taouk and kefta. The proteins were grilled to perfection, and were juicy and flavourful. So good! I got each order with rice, tabouli, pickles, pickled turnips, garlic potatoes, tahini, and pomegranate and signature sauces. They were excellent, except for the pickles. They were extremely salty. I couldn't handle eating them, so I didn't. The pickled turnips weren't salty, so it helped that I had something pickled. The garlic potatoes were awesome. I wish I got more. I may need to get a side order of them next time. They had the perfect garlic-to-potato ratio. What surprised me the most was the baklava. It was divine. It was pure perfection and is probably the best that I have ever had. It was flaky with a lot of chopped pistachios and a touch of honey that didn't make this dessert super sweet. I am salivating. I want more baklava. I need to get some for my dad. He's the baklava lover in the family. This place was a gem of an awesome find. I will be back to try more items off the menu and get more baklava. I simply remember a post that said that a new location was about to open in Scarborough. It serves Middle Eastern fare. My habit continues when it comes to looking at food apps to decide where I want to fetch takeout. I found Lonzo's Kitchen on Uber Eats and gave it a shot. There were a bunch of buy-one-get-another-free offers that I couldn't refuse. After having completed my grocery shopping in Whitchurch-Stouffville, I placed my order through the app, which consisted of these items: - Snack-sized wings in mild sauce (5) - BOGO - Snack-sized chicken plate with salad - BOGO It would take me 25 minutes to drive down to northern Scarborough. My food was ready in 20 minutes, so it all worked out. This eatery is on Nashdene Road. I have a vague recollection of hanging around this area when I was in my late teens until my undergraduate years. My mom worked in this area. When I had my dad's car, I'd pick her up from work and we'd run a bunch of errands, from getting tofu cubes packed in water, to fetching a ton of samosas, all within this area. Lonzo's sticks out like a sore thumb in an industrial-business area. Folks get hungry. Boom! There's Lonzo's. It's a smart move. I oddly did not have any problems finding the place. It faces Nashdene. I parked off to the side next to a fence and parallel-parked. You can also go around each unit and park there. I walked in. There were two male guys there. A chair propped the door open. Its position made me wonder whether I actually do enter or if I stand there. I did the former. I said my name. My order was in a paper bag on the counter. The men didn't seem all that friendly. The one man simply said, "It's here." I said thanks and took it. I also took photos. The other man just looked at me as if I were nuts. I didn't really care. I wished them both a nice day. I got nothing back. It wasn't the warmest interaction. I'm not sure if it was due to a language barrier or if that's who they are. Anyway, I happily put my dinner in my car and drove home. I then chowed down. I had the snack-sized chicken plate. I liked the size. It was perfect. The description on Uber Eats was a bit confusing. It said that this plate didn't include salad, but I was able to select salad as my base. The other base options were fries and rice. The chicken morsels looked good underneath the red and white sauces. I was excited to try this meal. It was delicious. The spicy red sauce wasn't excessively hot, but there was some heat. The white sauce tamed it. I just wish that the white sauce had garlic in it. The chicken was nicely seasoned and juicy. The salad has sliced cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. It was crisp and fresh. I would order this dish again. Luckily, I have another one that I plan to have for lunch on Thursday. I love wings. I could not pass up the BOGO wings deal. I got the wings in mild sauce. The wings tasted more like a marinara sauce. There was breading, but they weren't crispy. I did love the flavour. The chicken was tender and done nicely. I chose ranch sauce. This place was generous with the sauce. Other than the lack of warmth that I got from staff, I enjoyed my food. I'd come back and try more. There's falafel, beef, and sweet chili chicken that all intrigued me. (144)
