Their new logo should be a big middle finger. They have deliberately understaffed their support department. One of the hold messages was voiced by a recent ESL student. They leave you on hold for 45 min to well over an hour. I am presently on hold for 1:04:25, and still waiting. While in Italy, 8 days into my trip, my Shaw e-mail stopped working, as did my wife's. This crippled my financial planning business and all of our other communications. We depend on Shaw e-mail for so much, but they don't give a crap. The Shaw customer service has really gone downhill since taken over by Rogers . A week ago I waited 45 minutes on hold to talk to an agent . I was quite anxious b/c. I had clicked on a spam like and wanted to talk to a ""real person" . When I asked agent if they were short staffed . She saiid "No but didn't seem to know what the problem was ??? The second time I called a few days ago for technical support b/c my emails were not showing up in my inbox. The wait time was an hour and agent could not resolve my problem. He told me he would do a restart that would take a few hours and he would call me next day between 4 and 5 PM. G guess what he never called. I have been a Shaw customer for 45 years . Shaw/Rogers is a horrible company. I have had problems with my internet for years, always slow and have always had problems streaming. I have been paying for internet 600 which should be able to provide 600mbps with the modem hardwired to the computer. best I've ever seen is around 100mbps. I even went out and bought a more powerful modem thinking that was the problem. I recently decided that if they can't provide faster internet that I would down grade to a slower and cheaper option. now I get a bill that's higher than I was paying previously? try to contact them about it, GOOD LUCK!! sit on hold and get disconnected. customer service is a zero. What a terrible company. My bill randomly increased last month. Contacted them to ask, and the answer was: they only allow 1 free cable box instead of 2 now as of a recent change. Thanks for the heads up?? just increasing bills without notifying their customers hoping they will just pay it? What a joke. Praying on people with autopayment enabled. 25 year with being shaw customers, internet , TV and home telephone, current 2 year agree expiring soon and the best that they can do is increase my monthly rate with all tax in from 231.00 per month to 287.00 per month. this is yet another experience like most of those reported. None of us should be surprised after the CRTC allowed this (do whatever you want Rogers/Telus) merger. I have now been on hold for 2 hours to advise someone who cares (good luck) that the "transaction fees" for unreturned equipment need to be removed. Canada Post tracking says this equipment was delivered on Oct 9/24 with signature confirming receipt. They just increased the rental cost of my TV portal box because that is not included on my contract - the contract only covers services... so looks like I can expect more increases on my 4K TV Player and my Internet modem! The person I called to inquire about the increase said that they were not aware until just before the increase that it was going up, but then she went on to assure me that there are no other increases coming... how would she know if they were not aware of this increase? This company is a total joke. My family has been their loyal customer for phone,TV and internet and we had ongoing problem with Shaw Open Wifi. First of all, why call it open Wifi when I cannot login and Telus wifi is easier to use at least. I just need my email or login just to use wherever I go (Telus). My dad phoned Shaw last week and then auto dialer called us back. My dad (account holder) was away and I got connected to agent Amanda who was new and clueless. She did not verify information to find who I was, and she rather refused to do it. She spent 20 minutes of time in serious gong show. I even requested to be phoned back and told her she still had to talk to me due to language barrier (My dad isn't good in English). She asked what language he speaks which is Korean. According to Amanda, no Korean agents, but Japanese. I mean, I already repeated and explained it all about it. Shaw wifi never works and the commercial is often falsely advertised. I remember one agent way back she helped us set up our account for wifi. Amanda did nothing, but typing comments or maybe even whine about how stupid customers are. That was very unprofessional of her. She said the company doesn't do call back in and hour, and lied that she would transfer me to another agent. I was once a call center agent once, and previously learned about warm/cold transfer and the agent said she was off in an hour. I also want to add that companies often monitor calls if the customer had a great service, and nothing happened during this call. Tl;dr agent Amanda was unprofessional and not knowledgeable. Even though Shaw takes $100 of our bill every month their call center service is quite shitty. I might get connected to knowledgeable and kind agent one day and Amanda definetely needs some coaching to be taught. Very Very poor Service ‼ when you call Shaw customer service you get somebody out in India or some foreign country that can't speak English. They keep you on the phone for like 55 minutes and then they have to go and they say they'll call you back. They have to go talk to their supervisor about this issue, cause they don't want to be scored low on helping customers out then they call you. I talk to you for another 10 minutes and then they say we'll have to get takeout my fifth call my fourth call to these guys. I specifically said I don't wanna be on the phone for another 55 minutes. I want you guys to send me a take out to fix this issue and then the person in India keeps trying to talk over your voice. They won't listen to what you're saying, I will never ever sign up for sure again these guys are absolutely brutal. I signed for Shaw Internet and was installed 21st of December. However it wasn't activated and every time I called Tech Support and get different explanation and nobody give me any timeline on when it can be fixed. I ended up without internet for weeks and literally spoiled our holidays. I decided to have my order cancelled and talk to one of your customer rep and he told me that he submitted the cancellation and even gave me a ticket number. I made a couple of follow up call to confirm the cancellation and I was told that it will take longer time due to holiday. Finally, I called January 12 and talk to Patrick (from Alberta) to make follow up. He was charging me $300+ for early cancellation and was very rude and even denying that I requested cancellation previously. He sounded more like a scammer rather than a Customer Service Representative. I ask him to transfer me to his supervisor, but after few minutes he talk to me again with the same tone and rudeness. I felt that I was being disrespected, so I decided to end our conversation. What is interesting is, right after I hanged up, he called me and left message on my voice that he is confirming the cancellation without any fee. And at the same time emailed me shipping label for equipment return together with cancellation confirmation. Terrible service. I used them for 3 years and had 4 or 5 techs come to fix my service issues. Always during working hours, so I would have to take time off of work. I constantly had issues with connectivity dropping and having to reset the modem. Each tech gave me a different response. I've since learned that their outdated coaxial system causes the same issue for many users, but they would rather blame the customer than admit they're lying about offering a "Fibre" connection. I saw pamphlets come in the mail for the same level I had for $50 less per month. They wouldn't match the price but put me on a contract for $25 over their advertised price. I was a Shaw customer for 13 years. I phoned and tried to cancel my cable back in October 2019 and was placed on hold for 3.5 hours then when finally I got through to an agent she told me the cancellation was successfully processed. In November 2019 I was billed again for cable, and I called back, once again waiting 3.5 hours to get through to an agent, who had the audacity to tell me that the Cancellation Department was now closed and I had to call back the next day. The third time I called in December 2019, I got through to an agent almost immediately. This matches what has been said about your company in online forums that there is a mandatory 3-call mechanism to screen calls where the intent is cable cancellation. Finally when I asked what can be done for me to retain me as a customer as I was moving and was strongly considering defecting to Telus, the agent I spoke with quoted me a higher monthly quote than what I was paying currently, totally oblivious that I did not need the highest package and that Telus had already quoted a lower rate for a package that better suited my needs. I asked if I could think about it and call or email the agent back, he said that he could not provide such information, and that he could phone me back the next day to follow up. He never did call back so I signed up with Telus. Absolutely brutal customer service, charged me for 3 extra months for cable using a system to deliberately exhaust customers in their attempt to cancel, and the cherry on the cake was my $198 final settlement invoice to pay the "return equipment fee" for a modem and router you hardwired into my unit 6 years ago that obviously has zero salvage value. Shame on your company for running such a sham and you've lost a loyal customer. And of course I am now actively telling everyone about my experience at Shaw and will absolutely discourage anyone from ever signing up with your services unless they want to be ripped off like I was. Update: I received a threatening letter from their collection agency dated March 12 demanding payment for the "unreturned equipment". Not only did I pay them already on March 10, but my move-out date was January 31. Is it even legal to send someone's account to collections this quickly? Is it common practice in other industries to send accounts to collections agencies 42 days after the termination of services? What a disgusting way to run a company, especially given the times. i have internet 500, that took them 2 WHOLE WEEKS, to set me up. When I TOLD THEM AT THE START OF THE ORDER, that i would need a technician to setup the shaw service through my unit. They instead told me I would not need it, and refused to book me one until my router arrived via the shit postal service, and I tried setting it up myself. I work from home. I had to take a week off work waiting for router to arrive, and then I did NOT even have any fucking service, So i had to call them up and request a fucking technician like i had assumed i would, and there was a week wait for him to be free. Booked for 8 am, didnt show up til 10 am. Now that it is actually setup, half the time my internet speed through a wired ethernet cable is actually about 50 mbps (instead of the 500 mbps). I have been a loyal customer to Shaw for almost 10 years. I previously had Shaw Direct when I lived in a rural county, but now have internet and Gateway television. There are 3 gaming computers in our house so I purchased a package that included the highest internet speed. I now see Shaw advertising a 600mgb internet speed to NEW customers for $65.00 per month on a two year contract. It totally infuriated me when I was told I had been able to take advantage of a discount when I first became a customer.
