I was referred to a different orthopedist for my knee replacement. He walked in looked at my x ray and said we will schedule your surgery for September, all in 10 minutes. I have multiple health issues and none were considered. I then was referred to Dr. Chandran, my first visit was for 30 minutes with discussion of my health issues and talking about the surgery. I left the office feeling very confidence, that I was in good hands. I had the surgery on October 16 and was walking without a walker or cane with in two weeks. I was able to return to work on January 3, able to climb stairs and walk around the unit without pain. As a nurse, this was a great relief. I have recommended Dr. Chandran to all my friends and neighbor that need and orthopedist. When my other knee needs to be replaced I will return to him. Our insurance referred us to this office because my daughter had a "buckle fracture." Was told these heal fast and usually a cast is not needed. When we were called back, the doc did not even come in yet, they just sent someone in to give her a cast. I said I wanted her to be looked at first and we were going for a brace instead. The doctor came in, seeming somewhat annoyed that I had questioned the cast. He still did not ask my 8 year old daughter one question about how it was feeling, did not even touch her arm. He still suggested a cast for conservative reasons, which I understand, but I still requested a brace. He explained he would order for her. As we were checking out I was handed a paper telling me when we needed to come in next (I wasn't asked if I was available). I said I couldn't make that appointment and was kind of insinuated that's all they had?? The doc said we could just have our x-rays sent there (which was nice) and his father would look at them. We never got approval for another xray in that time frame. I called her pediatrician and they got her an x-ray appointment next day and an appointment with children's hospital La in Torrance. At this point she is still wearing her same split from urgent care she got two weeks ago. We brought her x-rays to CHLA and omg night and day difference. The staff and doc were so nice and caring with her. She asked her how she was feeling, touched her arm in different spots and moved it asking how it felt. No pain. Then looked at x-ray and said "oh ya she definitely doesn't need a cast, a brace will do great. Asked her what color she wanted and offered a brace she could also wear in the pool since it's summer and she has had to miss some pool time. So accommodating and nice. I was amazed on how professional and timely Dr . Chandran was in providing treatment for my urgent medical condition. I ruptrued my right knee meniscus and thereby needed an urgent work-up and eventual repair. I can't believe it was so quick for the whole ordeal. So I had the injury Friday, and was on the operating table by Wednesday week after. Amazing. Mind you, I didn't have the best insurance but still his office staff worked on it promptly. I have a broken radius and ulna and it needs surgery. My PCP and insurance company referred me here. When I called to schedule my appointment, which is somewhat urgent as you'll see from the attached photo, the office assistant Jasmine stated the billing code my insurance sent for referral was incorrect. I asked if I could at least book the appointment and I could get the code corrected in the meantime. She stated it is office policy to wait for the correct code and would not. The only difference between the billing code is the amount they could bill my insurance. Instead of $110 they can bill $210. Talk about petty. Dr Shaun Chandran was ok he was not so friendly and has no personality but overall a good doctor. The office staff on the other hand is rude and not very professional they don't care about you only what they can get out of your insurance. They charged me 60 dollars copay when they should have charged 10 because he is contracted with my insurance. They never called to apologize at all they also don't even do state disabilities forms online I had to drop the form off then pick the forms back up and then they want even mail them for you. I had to drive 13 miles just to pick the form back up just to mail them myself and yes!! I have a torn meniscus tear and on a crutch. My mom had an appointment with his office in February of this year. She has PPO insurance. She had to pay out of pocket for the visit because they stated "we don't want to chase patients if insurance doesn't pay" she paid in full. Blue cross blue shield reimbursed dr chandran in March. First the biller was on vacation, then in an accident, then it's third party, every time I call there is a different excuse. He has my moms money and her insurance companies money. Absolute criminal. Dr. Chandran performed a knee replacement surgery on my mom about 2 months ago. He is a wonderful caring doctor. It has been one of the best experiences we've had with a doctor. Dr. Chandran has amazing bedside manners and is incredibly caring towards his patients making sure they have everything they need for a full and proper recovery. On top of being a wonderful surgeon he makes himself available after hours to reach him directly if you have any questions. My mom had an issue a couple days after surgery after business hours and I was able to reach him immediately and find out it was normal and we had nothing to worry about. The receptionists have made numerous mistakes that have caused me to delay recovery as well as come in for appointments that are completely unnecessary and a waste of time . Omg It took me 6 weeks to get someone to answer the phone . Every time I called I was put on hold for over an hour and then disconnected! I finally get a person on the phone (by the way they answered the phone with "hello") and make an appt for 3 weeks later. I didn't receive a confirmation phone call the day before my appt so I decided to call and confirm the day of, knowing their track record and guess what ... they didn't have me scheduled for any appt . I visited Dr Chandra's office back in October, my overall experience was okay. My complaint and 2 star rating falls on the receptionist whom name I don't know female receptionist and the daley of my owed money. Back in October when I visited the office I was charged $100 although I have 100% medical coverage. I was told that when the bill was closed and the insurance paid if owed they would reimburse me. Here I am 4 months later. I needed a copy of my visit so I called and the receptionist was helpful until I mention the $100....she cut me off and told me someone was going to check on it and call me back. I went to the office to get my paper and again when I mentioned the money she bacame upset and cuts me off by saying: "I told you already she was going to call you!" I was shocked and told her to let me finish speaking because I was not done talking. Dr Chandra Sr came out of his office and I complained to him. He asked me to cone in to talk to him. I was very upset so I left. Literally 2 minutes later someone from his office calls me back to hand me my reimbursement. My 96-year-old mother broke her hip and had to have surgery, Dr Chandran was the assigned doctor. We will never use him again, or refer him. He probably was fine as the surgeon, but completely lacks any form of bedside manners whatsoever. In the follow up appointment, he was completely uninterested in her or how she was doing or recovering. He didn't even look at her face, all he wanted to see was the incision. He listens to your issue and maps out a plan for you to get better. I walked in there with pain in my elbow and he was 15 minutes late for my appointment (not bad for a doctors office). When he came in he apologized up and down for being late and explained the whole deal about their phones being down and he was so worried that his patients would be upset. After that he gave me a cortisone shot in my elbow that relieved my pain immediately. Every time I've been to see him he always give me the game plan and gives me a cortisone shot if I request it. Not sure if I have much confidence in the doctor or his staff. The doctor seems very knowledgeable and was able to quickly determine what the problem with my knee was, but he spent all of 2 seconds with me. Also I just reviewed my medical record from my first visit in which they entered vital signs...they didn't take my vitals while I was there. The information entered for my height and weight is completely incorrect. They indicated that I'm 56 inches...which converts to 4 foot 8 inches...I'm 5 foot 6. They also gave me 10 extra lbs and stated that my blood pressure was 130/70 (it's never been that high in my entire life). Not exactly how you instill confidence in a new patient. read more

Just went to that office had the worst experience of my life ,had an appointment schedule for 10:15 am set by their answering service, got there Secretary was basically calling me a liar ! that I'm not on schedule and can't be seen today and further went on to say I had no insurance got answering service and Ins to verify that I do have insurance and was covered and did have an appointment scheduled then they acted like oh it's late Dr has to go knowing that they fucked up with the schedule all the while acting very racist . Dr Chandrin is a fantastic Dr but your front desk will make him loose patients and business with their unprofessional service especially the Secretary with the salt and pepper hair you suck and you're racist no-one needs to be treated like shit at the time of injury if you don't like your job just quit!
