It's not hard to put into words how horrific Dr. Lang's care for patients is. I was a patient of his for over twenty years. Saw him many times, but probably a lot less than most as I'm in the nutrition business and have a passion for health and fitness. In fall of 2017 I developed an irregular heartbeat that persisted. I visited him. He gave me some serious medication to help but suggested I go to the emergency room. I did. DEC. 2017. They checked me in. I was interviewed by multiple doctors on all supplements and medicine I was taking. I didn't recall what Dr Lang gave me. So I called his office, said I'm in the ER. I was told by head nurse he would call me back very soon. HE DID NOT. I was hurt, frustrated, and angry. I stayed in hospital for 4 days as they gave me medications and such to fix the issue. He never called as he said he would. Long story short, this experience soured me on him 100%. The facade of caring about your patients. Fast forward 4 years. I needed a prescription filled. I was going out of town. I figured I would hopefully talk to him and get an explanation for his behavior 4 years prior and clear the air. Well his office said he said hello, long time, and he would call me to review my needs for refill. Well ge never called. His office didn't give any help. Come in to see him first, since it has been a long time, nothing. I called daily for 10 days. The office said he received my message but will call. No call. He's a fake. If you go to his office you may wait 2 hours beyond your appt time, as other people here stated. He wants to hob nob with you instead of cutting to the chase and taking care of your issue. So don't be fooled. Perhaps he's gotten careless or could care less as he aged. I suggest you choose a better personal GP. read more

Nice man. Spends time and listens during appointments. However follow through from his office is terrible - can't get prescriptions refilled, can't get orders easily... pretty much no response to email communications and the phone line often requires a 15-30 minute wait for human to answer. Forget about getting specialty appointments - there's a several month backup. If you need care urgently, you are better off going to an Urgent Care. read more

I went to Dr. Lang by accident as I fell off a stool and thought I busted my knee. I am so glad I went to him! He is very kind, light hearted and funny! He is a no nonsense Dr. and seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. He went out of his way to get me crutches and have someone teach me how to use them even though I fell backwards on the cement after leaving his office... I would go back to him and I would recommend him. I feel so lucky to have a great group of doctors right now in my life from Cedars Sinai. Hats off to Dr. Lang ! Dr Lang, although caring and kind has the worst office staff and nurses. From wrong referrals, miscommunication, zero follow up on abnormal lab tests, no call-backs re: concerns etc, I think there are better offices out there. I would avoid this practice if you want decent communication with your medical care, we found another Dr. for my geriatric parents. read more

Dr William Lang is one of the best doctors I've ever had. The unfortunate part is his staff. I have been attempting to get the correct referral sent over to another doctors for 3+ months now. They made no effort to try and figure out what the other doctor needed. I literally had to make over 15 calls just to try and get the correct referral information because they wouldn't do it. They had zero urgency and sent over the wrong referral multiple times. Very unprofessional and a lack of organization. 90+ days later I'm still attempting to get them to send over the correct referral. read more

I must say Dr Lang is great! He's been my doctor for over 10 years. He takes time to explain things to make sure you understand and offers options. He's also a great listener. He wants to hear from you and seem genuinely concerned. HOWEVER.... I my dealing with his staff that's a whole different story. I saw him last December and have been waiting for a referral.to see a orthopedic specialist for my knee. Today I called his office and the lady that I talked to was so RUDE, that I wanted to drive their to let my Doctor know how his staff talks to his patients. She told me Miss you obvious don't understand so I'm go to try to explain to you again. She was the one that did not understand. She was not listen to my request and just ran with whatever she thought I was said. She kept telling my what I need to do. I had to let her know again that I can't go to see the doctor on the referral that I have because they will not accept it. Back and forth , and back in forth I finally asked her what do I do at this point. She told me she's looking at the referral and that I should call that doctors office. I asked her for what? They've already told me they will not accept that one. I can't create the referral needed it has to come from Dr Lang. I asked her can't you and get this straight? t's only been since December and I'm in pain. I give up!!! Dr. Lang gave me a prescription and he told me to try it and call him to let him know if it works and if not he'll prescribe what I was taking before.It didn't work. I called his office maybe 7 times and each time I was told they will let him know. One guy even hung up in my face. I called again and got someone and they said for sure they would take care of it. Well that person called the wrong pharmacy. I had t call them again!!! I was really in pain and upset. I had to fix their error by calling my medical group, I finally got it. I called and left a message for Dr. Lang and I have not heard from him yet 3 months later. I usually don't take the time to do anything like this but I hope Dr. Lang this because his staff sucks egg....... read more

While I read and use Yelp all the time, this is my first review (I can be a little selfish) ;). However, I just had to write one for Dr. Lang...having a doctor that you can trust and listens means everything. After many unsuccessful attempts at finding a worthy general doctor, a friend referred me to Dr. Lang awhile back - and I owe her BIG TIME! :). He is absolutely the best internal med doctor...incredibly knowledgable, experienced, highly intelligent, very connected and respected. However, what makes him different is that he has a heart of gold (truly). He honestly cares about his patients and will explain all our options, and if needed, will refer you to a specialist that will impress you. I could continue writing endlessly about the wonders of Dr. Lang... Examples? He LISTENED (oh yeah...you read that correctly)and PROPERLY diagnosed me. I had another situation with a specialist (that I seeked out on my own) and didn't feel comfortable about the diagnosis and treatment...so I desperately called Dr. Lang. He immediately jumped in and referred me to another top specialist, and I was in surgery two days later. On the flip side...I can also trust him when he tells me that I don't have tetnus from a splinter and my lymphnode IS from a cold. ;) Any drawbacks...? Well, if you consider catching up on emails, texting friends, or reading a magazine a drawback - then yes...because you will spend some time in the waiting room. BUT - he's so worth it!!! read more

There are not enough stars for the love I have of this man and his staff. Dr. Lang has walked me through the death of my mother, rallied for me when I needed surgeons, helped me when I needed new prosthetic legs... Just when I think I can't love him more, he lets me bawl in his arms as he helped prepare me for the death of my father. I have not, nor will I ever love a doctor as much as I do Dr. Lang. And Falcia??? Don't get me started on his assistant... She's my soul sister and helps me every single time help is needed. I recommend them to anyone needing a caring doctor. read more

This has been an awful experience. I started seeing Dr. Lang about a year ago, at which point I found out that I had an issue resulting in me needing to take some medication. He told me the prescription was filed and that I could go pick it up. After attempting to get the medicine, the pharmacy informed me that nothing was ever filed. Fast Forward 6 months of back and forths on the phone and I finally got it. Once I received it, I found out they actually gave me the wrong prescription. It's incredibly frustrating to find out that something is wrong with you and then to be given such a major run around. Finally, I went in today to get this all sorted and the doctor made me wait almost 2 hours from my scheduled appointment. I probably would have waited longer, but I just walked out. I would recommend that anyone seeking a doctor chooses a different path. TLDR: If you value your time and you actually want to receive any medical attention, go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Lang is great. He's very thorough and has great bedside manner; however, he has the worst receptionist ever. She puts people (me) on hold and apparently forgets. After holding for 20 minutes, I finally gave up and called back, only to have her answer the phone and be miraculously available. And, this wasn't the first time. I've also left the office after waiting 15 minutes for her to finish "scheduling" (or whatever the hell she was doing) with the person in front of me. It never takes ME that long to schedule a follow up before I leave. She also does not give messages to his nurse (very competent/she's great) or the woman that fits referrals. I don't know if they are enemies or not, but they sure have issues communicating with one another. That brunette is clearly sporting the wrong color hair. I do not look forward to dealing with Mrs. Door Nail at all. Woosah. read more

Lang is one of the better doctors I've been to. He's thorough, very knowledgeable, and friendly. However, I arrive on time but I always wait at least an hour before he sees me. One time I waited 2 hours 15 minutes. He came in and apologized, said something about a computer malfunction, but I wasn't interested. Also, his front desk staff is unfriendly and seem unhappy. I really liked Dr Lang for his great bedside manner. I could even overlook the ridiculously long waits because I appreciate that he takes his time to care about his patients....well at least when they're in front of him. 3-4 calls to his office in the last month to set up a much needed appointment and not ONE PHONE CALL BACK. He makes you feel comfortable and he sits down and talks to you like a friend about whatever is going on with you. He never makes you feel like he is rushing in and out. Dr Lang is a ROCKSTAR! I have had colds, the flu, allergies, knee and back issues, and other things that pop up as we age and he has dealt with everything masterfully and/or referred me to top notch specialist!!! I understand the experiences of the other two reviews here, but for me those types of situations were early on (and many years ago), but all in all, if you want a smart doctor who is skilled, experienced, has great bedside manner and you're willing to wait, this is the doctor for you. Yes he is awesome and what comes with that is the fact that many others think so too and he is only ONE MAN! So yes, there is typically always a wait, maybe an hour or less after your appt time, so I come prepared, read a book, bring my laptop and wifi, book appts first thing in the day or last thing and don't plan things after, etc. To me, he's worth it. Nothing like a great all round MD. And his staff are all sweehearts, nothing but smiles. Remember they are BUSY too and their whole day could change if you simply stopped and asked THEM how THEY are doing. Smh, people, really? read more

Sad to say I've given up on Dr Lang. I made an appointment for 1/9/14 back in December and was told, the day before the appointment, that even though they take my insurance, my insurance provider wasn't allowing them to see me. I called my insurance company to see what the problem was and it turned out that Dr. Lang stopped taking my version of 'Health Net' when he moved to Marina Del Rey. I kept going to Dr. Lang even though it takes 2 hours after you arrive to actually see him. I even "donated" the extra $100 they requested, because the the reason they gave for the long wait time was because insurance co's don't pay enough. But to be lied to about why they can't take my insurance was the last straw. read more

Dr. Lang is wonderful, but his receptionists are absolutely horrible. I've waited up to 2 hours before even being seen, and then another hour for him to get into the room. Today, I had an appointment with the female doctor on staff at 2:45, at 3:45 I was called in, and informed me that she was NOT EVEN IN, because "she didn't think she had work today." She said I would have to wait until she got in, and saw the patients before me. Bullshit. read more

Dr. Lang, has been my doctor and our families doctor for 20 years. He is one of a kind. They don't make Doctors like him any more. He is knowledgeable, dependable, patient and kind. His staff is very professional. We do not mind waiting at times to see him because we know he is taking the best care of each of his patients personally and effectively. Our family has needed specific specialists through the years Dr. Lang has also been very helpful and thorough when referring us to a specialist who can hand specific needs outside of his internal medicine practice. Dr. Lang has been my internist for over 15 years. He takes time to answer all your questions (and I bring a list with me) and to review tests. The only drawback--he takes time to answer other patients' questions so the wait can be long. So take a book. He is able to fit you in for urgent matters. read more

You may need to wait a bit to see him but he's worth every minute of it. He's thorough and doesn't push you out the door the minute you walk in like some doctors do. I've been with him several years. He actually listens to you. I care about having a doctor who is both knowledgable as well as thorough. If you prefer to rush in as well as out, see another doctor. The worst of the worst. Dr.Lang is competent, but the way he runs his office is horrendous. You have to jump through hoops just to make an appointment, as no one ever answers the phone in his office, and I mean NEVER. You have to hope that they will call you back, and many times, they don't. If you are lucky enough to reach them, you have to wait up until two months or more to see the doctor. If you are very ill, they tell you to go to urgent care or an ER, which makes the point of having this doctor ridiculous in the extreme. When you show up for an appointment, they make you wait an average of 1 1/2 hours, even if you show up on time. I think the motive for this awful practice is that Lang has his assistants call you and offer "concierge" medical treatment, where you pay out of insurance for the "privilege" of being able to see Lang much sooner. In my mind, the way he runs his medical practice is nothing short of medical malpractice, since one can only imagine how many patients have died while waiting to see Lang. This is by far, the worst medical practice I've ever had the misfortune to deal with, and if you are ill, either chronically or acute, don't expect any help from Lang. The worst! read more
