We had our wedding here July 4, 2009. It was honestly the best day of our lives. And every guest we talked to said it was the best/funnest wedding they had ever been to. First, the setting is breathtaking: gorgeous green pine tree forest surrounding the wedding ceremony site, mountains in the background, perfect weather (mid-80s all day, and no wind) and the beautiful wedding village, Pinegri-La. Pinegri-La has 5 cabins that can sleep from 6 to 12 people, depending on the cabin, as well as a camping area. We had 50 guests stay onsite in cabins and camp. The rest of our guests, stayed at the Dunsmuir Lodge and Railroad Park, which are about a half hour away. We came up Thursday night and spent the weekend with our friends and family. Everyone had a great time walking to nearby swimming holes and alpine lakes. At night, we would barbecue and roast S'mores and talk into the late hours over the campfire. We had our rehearsal dinner/bbq Friday night, and Beth and John pulled if off without a hitch. The food was great, and the setting was perfect. On the wedding day, guests went for hikes while my bridesmaids and I got ready in Pinegri-La's bridal dressing room (very cute room with comfy couches and mirrors). The ceremony was beautiful! I can't say enough about how beautiful this ceremony site is--the most beautiful wedding site I've ever seen -- and I'm not just saying that cause it was my wedding. For the dinner, the food was perfect -- very delicious and on time and fresh and hot! Beth and John (the owners) and their staff do a wonderful job. We had about 140 guests, and they handled it perfectly. They also had someone in the nearby town make the cake, and it was delicious and beautiful too. Then we danced until we wanted (no curfew!) All our guests -- old and young alike -- said it was the funnest wedding they had ever been to. The only downside to this location is that it is a half-hour drive up a winding mountain roud. But, it is paved all the way, and no one seemed to complain about it. All in all, it was the best day of our lives, and we were very sad when it was all over.... read more

The venue that Shasta weddings provides is absolutely breathtaking! It is such a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere, great for people who want to escape into the magical woods with friends & family. However, there were *several* problems which made my experience less than ideal. I would like to frame this review as me helping anyone who might be considering Shasta weddings as a venue, not complaining. I am grateful for our experience but I would have done things completely different had I known the following information: First of all, the most major problem is that there is no service & no wifi. I had no idea about this, as we visited in June & had service at the time. Regardless, the day of the ceremony, we arrived & had no service. This was problematic because several people did not have directions so a lot of people were late or unable to come because they never got directions. Further, Shasta Weddings has a satellite & wifi, but Beth wouldn't share it because it would slow down her service. Several people asked & she ignored them. Then those people were bugging me, which annoyed me on my wedding day. Not only was this bad for directions, but it was bad for our musical selections. Any songs/music not downloaded were unable to be downloaded. So, if you're planning a wedding at Shasta Weddings, you need to definitely have everyone on the same page as far as directions, knowing that there is no service, & the DJ having all the music pre-selected & downloaded. Not too hard, but in my opinion, unfair... even though, admittedly, we were never promised wifi or service. Second of all, I did not realize that check in for EVERYONE was by 5pm. This makes absolutely no sense for a DESTINATION wedding in the middle of nowhere... No one lived close. Everyone had to travel. Why should they be expected to arrive no later than 5pm? With that in mind, the way that check in was done was bizarre. Beth had mentioned to my mother-in-law that she could be "in charge" of people checking in after 5. Several of my friends & family members either didn't end up coming, or left the venue to go get a hotel because it was snowing. Many also got there when my mother-in-law wasn't sitting at the table waiting. Regardless, the payment for those guests was taken out of our deposit. Thus, WE were still responsible for paying for the guests that couldn't stay due to weather, not being able to find the venue, or just didn't end up coming. etc. I had no idea about this, as my last update was sent to her 9/21 for my 9/28 wedding, & on the paper it is written "You are not committed to the placements but we can help if something seems amiss." which is interesting because apparently i had committed to those placements... since i had to pay. With this in mind, i would suggest hiring someone to take care of the names/collect the money, so that you will have some of your deposit left back! Beyond that, she was generous with the rest of the deposit, as we left in a hurry & didn't clean much beyond the basics. she even did not charge us for the "campers" who were supposed to camp but obviously could not since it was freezing. So i am grateful for that! As i said, I would hire someone for that & save yourself a few hundred bucks. Lastly, just so any brides-to-be are wondering about the nearest town, Redding, for beauty treatments... i had some of the worst experiences in my life in that town! It was sad :( I left them all Yelp reviews so feel free to check. For some good news, I choose Sequoua photography for my pictures, & she did an amazing job. She is listed on their vender sites. LASTLY- if you are a vegan or vegetarian, I recommend making your own food instead of eating the food Beth & co make. Apparently the meat sandwiches they made were AMAZING (as was the vegan chili- so so good! ) BUT the sandwiches were.... cucumber & hummus.... Every vegan came up to me CONFUSED & slightly offended lol. But all in all, it's a great venue especially if you are simultaneously on top of your shit & also not really caring how things might end up, & are willing to do the aforementioned suggestions. LASTLY- the curfew for all guests not staying on site is midnight... This is kind of annoying but understandable for the way the road is set up (essentially a paved, one-lane, spooky road) it might be done for safety purposes... however, later than midnight I doubt anyone is coming up that road, so going down should be even less of a hazard at that point. This disappointed a lot of our Airbnb guests who wanted to party all night with us.... but, since it was soooOooo cold, we didn't even end up partying all night, so it wasn't too bad! Beth & John were super nice. The venue is gorgeous. They were also very communicative & asked me if i needed things frequently. So no hard feelings, it was an amazing time. I did not have my wedding there, but had an awful experience with the owner, John. After visiting the site and meeting with both Beth and John we were totally excited to have found our wedding venue. The next day I emailed them about a discrepancy in pricing...the file folder John gave us in person contained a higher price for guest lodging than I had already seen. I assumed prices increased for 2011 but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if they would still honor the current pricing. That's when things got weird. I made the mistake of saying I saw the lower prices on their website (I later realized they were on a 2010 PDF attachment Beth emailed me awhile back). Apparently, John couldn't get past this small detail and got super-defensive about his website. For some reason he thought I was accusing him of false advertising and, in my opinion, totally over-reacted. He thought this wasn't the start of a "trusting relationship", and dismissed us abruptly by wishing us good luck in the future. I apologized for putting him on the defense and tried to explain that it wasn't my intention. I never felt we were being mislead by them in any way. I asked him to please think things over and re-read my initial email. He said he didn't think his feelings would change. In the end, I'm happy this happened before booking the site. After much reflection, there is no way we would want to enter into a contract with such an unreasonable person. He sure does seem nice and laid-back, but obviously has some issues. read more

Trinity Mountain Resorts is idyllic. I just hosted my stepdaughter's wedding there (August 22, 2009). My husband and I visited the venue months ahead of time to see if the bride and groom would like it. We were happy to find that the website depicted the place as expected. After a warm welcome, we toured the grounds, sampled the food and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. Since our daughter and son-in-law love camping and the outdoors, we knew they would love the place. Once the wedding time had come, we arrived Thursday afternoon at the 3:30pm check-in time. As with all places, there are always little things that could be better, such as a beautiful entrance sign. Little things like that are easily forgotten since there are so many things to love about the place. The scenery is majestic. All of our international and local guests were in awe of the natural beauty of the evergreen trees, mountains and natural swimming holes. There are even swimming holes small enough for young children and a separate section deep enough for the twenty-something crowd to enjoy themselves without the squeals of children. Many of the attendees were reminded of the camps they visited as part of their family traditions. Even the eighty-something crowd loved the flowers everywhere which attracted hummingbirds. The cabins are reminiscent of rustic cabins in the Swiss Alps. They are as expected, quaint and rustic. The children above age four loved the loft space beds. Some of the upstairs beds are attic space bedrooms, so it's important to plan accordingly. You wouldn't want grandma to climb the attic ladder. We placed the twenty-something couples and kids over age four with ease. We never felt short of things to do. In addition to the multiple swimming holes, there are hiking and biking trails, horseshoes and nearby national parks. The menu is straightforward home cooking. Initially, we were nervous about having the on-premise food because the bride is a cook and some of the guests are chefs. Thankfully, the food was well-prepared and perfectly timed, even with our flexible schedule. One of the chef guests even commented on how moist the chicken was. The best part of the whole trip was working with the owners, Beth and John. Beth's warmth, professionalism, preparedness, timing and unlimited patience helped bring me a great deal of peace in the midst of divorced families seeing each other for the first time in years. Beth had great relationships with the vendors, took initiative to solve problems and even lit the centerpieces when I forgot to designate someone to do it from our group. I would like to have Beth by my side for any event. Her husband, John, was yet another helpful hand and warm smile when needed. Now that the honeymooners are home, the new couple has told me that they really loved the venue and couldn't have asked for anything better. read more

Hands Down, Best Wedding Site EVER! We got married here back in 2005, and I still remember like it was yesterday. Beth and John were absolutely FANTASTIC. From the welcoming BBQ the first night, to the most awesome BREATHTAKING surroundings you could ask for, and unforgettable night of dancing, bonfires, and of course... drinking games, everything was PERFECT. Attended a fantastic wedding here from late afternoon to 11pm. The ceremony had a view of the mountians and trees which was perfect for the couple. There is a lot of personality in the houses which Joe and Beth (proprietors) served the dinner. And the decorations were tasteful - lanterns spread around the trees and wood carvings of the wedding couple's love story. The walkway leading up to the cermony was perfect for pictures and the placement of the bar area and tables were great. The only thing was that the location was high in the mountains and easy to get lost. Luckily our organized wedding party made it as seamless as possible. The food was perfectly prepared and tasted great!!! We had lasagna, tri-tip, potatoe's, sauteed cucumber and salad all prepared by the venue. Highly recommend! read more

If I could give more stars to Shasta Weddings I would. Not only was my experience there "as good as it gets", it surpassed my every wildest dream about what a wedding and wedding venue could be. So I don't even know where to start with this review, but I'll try. Pinegri La is the most breathtakingly beautiful place. All our guests were so impressed by the view, and all our wedding photos have the most gorgeous background. You can see in pictures that it's pretty there, but pictures honestly don't do it justice. And I guess part of what you can't see in the pictures is also the vibe of the place. When you walk around Pinegri La, or sit in one of the hammocks, or even snuggle up in your cabin, you just FEEL good. The whole place has an energy about it that really feels magical. We also couldn't have been happier with Beth and John. They were so unbelievably helpful and supportive, from the very beginning of our wedding planning right up until they sent us home with left overs the Sunday after our big day. They are warm and fun, yet totally professional. They really paid close attention to our needs and wants, even noticing things that we didn't, ways to make the experience even better. And they both worked so hard the whole time. But even while bustling around making everything perfect, they were able to calm me down (when I got nervous or worried) and make everything feel so relaxing. By the time it was all over, Beth and John felt like family to us. What else? We had a bunch of kids at our wedding (including our two), and this place is like heaven to kids. They could run around and play and explore all they wanted. There wasn't a kid there who didn't ask to come back. Our 7-year-old twins asked when we could get married again, so they could go back there. :) The Honeymoon site is amazing, and so special. A very unique and magical way to spend your wedding night. Then waking up to the most incredible view you can imagine, you couldn't ask for a better first day of the rest of your life together. We loved the food, and Beth and John (and staff) were very accommodating of our dietary restrictions. I'm vegetarian, and my husband is vegan, so they went out of their way to make sure everyone had delicious food that they could eat. We wanted to do a photo booth, and when we arrived, Beth and John had an area all ready for us to set up our equipment. The photo booth was so much fun! Some of our favorite photos from our wedding came from there. Everyone at Shasta Weddings seemed to work so hard to make sure all our guests felt welcome and comfortable. The weekend was filled with special little extra touches that made it whimsically wonderful. We got so many compliments from satisfied guests, and many reported that this was the best wedding they'd ever been too. I think we'll all be talking about it for a long time. I went to Shasta Weddings in April 2014, before they formally opened, to negotiate with the owner, John, about building a big treehouse or an "Einstein's Castle" style honeymoon suite. I brought my 16 year old son. We camped up in the woods and stayed in a little cabin for almost a month, sipping pure mountain spring water and enjoying the quiet and the view and having a great time. John and I never did get that contract negotiated (shucks!) and son and I eventually moseyed on. But all in all t'was a fantastic place to be able to enjoy with a most gracious host. My husband and I were married at this venue last weekend and we are still on cloud nine! Forget the dress (which was absolutely perfect), I have never received so many compliments on a venue! EVERY single solitary guest asked "How did you ever find this incredible place!?". I you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful back-woods setting this is 100% the place for you. To redefine "relaxing", our wedding was still semi-formal, with a photo booth, 5 cakes, make-up artist, MC, DJ, etc... but the timeline was so so so lax. You get the WHOLE WEEKEND to breath and soak up all the little moments. Most venues offer only six hours for the ceremony AND reception... No wonder brides can't remember their big day! Plus, Beth and John (and their staff) go to great lengths to make every step as smooth as possible, so you really can't be in a better position to truly enjoy your wedding weekend. The Big Perks: - Spectacular views... and I am talking breath taking. It will be hard to find a better place to take wedding photos. I have uploaded a few of ours as proof. - Cute and cozy little cabins that can accommodate about 50 guests comfortably. The rest of the guests can stay in a lodge down the hill or camp right there on site. - All of your guests have the whole weekend to hang out and get to know each other! Our guests all went swimming together at the swimming hole while we prepared for the ceremony and every single one had an incredible time. - You get your own little personal village! Have the grandparents leave around 9 to head back to the lodge and let everyone else just hang around the campfire, dance on the dance floor, play cards in their cabins, or sleep under the stars. No curfew, no drunk driving... Everyone wins. Most people under 50 y/o stayed with us on site and everyone (especially our parents) just loved to have no where to go but there. Those that didn't stay on site, truly wished they had. - Fabulous food and plenty of it! Most "all inclusives" skimp on the portions and/or the quality, but not this place. Every meal was set out on time and was top quality. I'm talking organic grass-fed tri-tip, kobe beef burgers, wild salmon, etc, all bursting with flavor. I think i heard about 8-9 comments just on the garlic mashed potatoes alone. The Small (and inconsequential) Drawbacks/Advice: - You do pay a pretty penny for last minute cancellations. Understandably, Beth and John have to plan ahead to prepare breakfasts, lunches, and fancy dinners for 100ish people, so when you tell them a guest will be staying on site, they assume you mean it and they buy enough for that person. When some one cancels last minute, you pick up what they would have paid to stay onsite (which is very affordable for a weekend of meals and lodging, but can add up). So, in short, only invite your reliable friends to stay onsite. ;) - When guests check in they are given meal tickets as proof that they have paid for their lodging and food. Two or three of our guests lost/misplaced their tickets along the way and staff was pretty strict about it, so we would recommend that Beth and John use bracelets in the future, just for convenience sake. Also, if you or your parents want to pay for your offsite guests rehearsal dinner (pretty standard), then make sure to give Beth and John a list of the offsite guests names to avoid confusion (these people wont be staying onsite and wont have a ticket/bracelet). There are no meal tickets for the reception dinner which is paid separately. - Make sure that someone shows you how to get to the SPECTACULAR Honeymoon "suit" (located about a ten minute walk from the little village). It was late, we got a bit lost, and had to wake poor Beth up at like 1am.... we obviously felt terrible. Thankfully, she was very very sweet about the whole thing. Bottom line, this place is incredible. We had an absolutely PERFECT weekend and I rarely think anything is perfect. Beth and John are wonderful, accommodating and experienced! UPDATE. I just read this "Zombie" thing Beth has on her website apparently directed towards me. Beth, you are psychotic woman. I pray for your well being. You are a very disturbed individual. You rip people off and you know it. The Lord knows it as well. I warn husbands and brides to be, pray for the Lord to guide you far away from these people. Go somewhere where you day will be blessed not cursed. Like, I mentioned in my review. the only reason people do not give it the due terrible credit it deserves is because they do not want their special day marred by the awful truth. Its not good. You can pretend it was a glorious day in remembrance, but you guest will secretly be wishing you had held your wedding at a real venue, with nice accommodations. Especially when they learned how much these thieves charged you for their ramshackle sad excuses. For the price these people charge, you can rent out a beautiful place in Tahoe at Sugar Bowl. I wish I had followed my instinct on that one. But, God had a different Idea. I failed to mention....I asked Beth for a Christian Pastor. At the last minute There was not one available. There was an "ordained" spirit woman who spoke of a bear and an Indian in my wedding ceremony. So, that happened as well. The statement, on their site "all inclusive" is a lie. She and John are liars. Be warned people. Please be warned, I do not accept insubordination or liars. I walk in righteousness and goodness. She states below I owe her money...I did not pay her $1200 Because she sprung this cost on me unannounced when I was stranded in the mountains! I paid her fairly and told her lawyer when he called me as well. She said she was going to call the police and I said go right ahead I will sue you for false representation. Lets dance, Beth! Note, She has no prices listed on her website. (because she changes everything as she goes along) This is a RED FLAG. A women called me as I have instructed anyone who wanted to hear first hand of my experience. But unfortunately, she called me too late. She had already shelled out 5k to Beth and John for her daughters wedding. Last I heard, Beth did not refund the money and the wedding ended up at the grandmothers house instead because Beth wanted even more money than what they initially agreed upon. Do not let her bully you around. Do not get involved with serpents and snakes. If you want to deal with ruthless false sincerity and liars be my guest. There are suckers born every minute. If you want to walk in the light, pray that you are not involved with these heathens. Who puts imagery of demons and zombies on a wedding site? BTW one of my first questions to Beth was is Mt Shasta visible from the venue? Her answer was a resounding "YES"! Mt. Shasta is 20 miles away from this venue, this place is in a town called Dunsmuir. It is nowhere near Mt. Shasta. Or that glorious mountain. That is where I wanted to get married and that is why I picked this place. The name fooled me. I was duped. and when I asked to see the venue, I was told I was not allowed to come up. So, I trusted her good word. She tricked me and I spent thousands on these accommodations and my guests and the food and drinks as well as basic essentials like ice and wine and glasses I was told to bring! I am seriously warning you, the flowers and everything you will have to pay for. RUN as far as possible from these people. There are not even working toilets. The "beds" are futons. The showers for the bride are make shift junk...everything is junk. I am warning you all. it is just a mess. A horrible mess. It was one of the hardest days of my life. I woke up the next day and looked out the window with such regret and shame of what I had dragged my family and friends up to. The place was a mess. Their "staff" hadnt cleaned anything. The fire pit was still smoking. The wineglasses and bottles were all out. There were dirty dishes everywhere. I felt a sinking in the pit of my stomach. Like what a horrible mistake I had made. What an expensive mistake. I paid for this wedding by myself. And I regret every minute of it. I just dont want the same fate to befall any other bride. I implore you, Please, do more research pray about it and search your soul. Do not recommend. The owner has/had my email link listed on her site as a "socially misfit bride" I would not mind being contacted by someone thinking about using these people and place for one of the most important days in life. It would be wonderful to warn of the dangers. Lets just say, one of my friends to this day still has an allergic skin reaction he picked up in one of the beds. I was told to bring the ice and the wine glasses.. I was also told the baker would make my cake the day before..hahah the cake was made a week before and was frozen when we cut into it...It was left out all night and Beth asked me if I wanted to take it...What a joke. Open House Memorial Day weekend. Visit and see the gorgeous grounds and village for yourself! I just ran into the owner, Beth, tonight in Mt, Shasta so I thought I'd write a review. If you're going to have a wedding, family reunion or big gathering this is the place I would have it. Not only is the setting in the middle of the wilderness, it's peaceful, tranquil & all around a good feeling. Beth is an amazing, warm person with great energy, not in a wierd way, but you can tell she is genuine & loves what her & her husband are doing. My fiance and I looked at this venue last weekend for our wedding next may. When I contacted the venue to see if our date was available and for an updated cost sheet they never mentioned that date wouldn't work. When we finally got to the venue (it's a a very long drive up a steep road) we were pleased. Owners were very nice, cabins were clean, and it looked like pictured on website. I'm giving it 3 stars just for lack of communication. When we were talking to the owners and mentioned our date she said it wouldn't work, due to them not being open till June. I wouldn't have even looked at that venue if they would have told me when I emailed them about my date wasn't available. I would recommend this venue for weddings and family reunions! My husband and I married up at Pine-gri-la this summer. It was everything we ever dreamed of! The wedding grounds were beautiful; the cabins were quaint; and the food was FANTASTIC. The guests were amazed by the beautiful and relaxing scenery. Beth and John were so helpful and welcoming that we felt like they were family. The rest of the staff was efficient and professional. Having this mini destination wedding made a huge difference. The whole ceremony from setup to take down was done at such an easy pace - there was no scrambling to get out by a certain time. Unlike the authors of most of the other reviews you'll read for Shasta Weddings, I didn't have a wedding at this resort. I worked and lived there for five summers in a row. By the end of my time as an employee there, I knew Beth, John, and the resort inside and out. The two owners quickly became part of my family. I still remain in contact with them today. Even if I didn't love those two people, I would still recommend the resort for a memorable, relaxing, and fun wedding. I've read many of the reviews on here. Some of them give false impressions of Shasta Weddings. To start, Beth and John are open and honest about their business. For those on here who have claimed that the cabins did not live up to their expectations, it is very unlikely that they are being honest. Every one of their clients has the opportunity to see the accommodations before they decide to book the resort. They also have accurate pictures of the cabins on their website for people who cannot see them in person. Beth willingly gives details about the number of beds and how they are arranged in the cabins. She also gives advice about how they might want to assign them (the clients decide who sleeps where). For instance, she reminds them to take into consideration elderly or disabled people who may have trouble going up and down stairs. The atmosphere at the resort is truly one of a kind. The surrounding forest and breathtaking views provide an ideal, private setting for a fun weekend with close friends and family members. During my very first summer working at Shasta Weddings, I lost count of the number of people I heard exclaim over how beautiful the site was. When I visit Beth and John today, I still cannot get over how gorgeous the place is. Clients and their guests also remark about how welcoming the owners and their staff are. I can testify to how important customer service is to the people who work there. It was one of the first things I learned from Beth and John. Working with them was fun and challenging. I don't think there are many jobs that are as rewarding as this one was. It gave me a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the resort. I can testify o how much Beth and John love what they do. They try to find people to work for them with the same passion as they have. The result is a lot of positive energy striving to make each wedding as memorable as possible. read more

I was recently a guest at a wedding that was held here. While the scenery is breathtaking, there were quite a few elements that were lacking on the service side of the venue. First of all, this property has some very rustic attributes to it---porta potties (which get rather stinky by the end of a wedding weekend!) and outdoor showers. Some cabins had private baths and showers, but for a large group of 100+, getting ready for the big day can prove to be challenging. There were lines for the showers when it came time to get ready for the wedding. For all of the brides out there thinking of using this as a wedding site I want to let you know about the 'bridal suite' in which you will be getting ready in. There is little to no lighting in this room. Also, they provide one single hook for your dress. This hook is located at the very top of the ceiling. You cannot reach this hook if you are 7 feet tall. No one at the site offered a step stool or ladder to accommodate this, so dresses were hung on floor lamps. There is no door to this room, just a curtain. So, when you are dressing and undressing, guests and staff are walking right by where you are changing! This room is located in the same building as the kitchen, so there is a lot of traffic going through! Also, as a side note, the walls of this room are unfinished. It looked like particle board. As far as the execution of the event itself, there were some serious flaws with the service. At this particular wedding, the ceremony was to be held at 3pm. Invitations were sent to all guests stating the date and time. The 'managers' of this property had the ceremony time WRONG on their calendar, and told the bride and groom that they had to move their ceremony to 3:30pm. I have never heard of such a thing. It's one thing for the couple to be enraptured with their day and photos and show up late, but for the proprietor to move the time to fit their needs unacceptable. The staff was on site by 1pm. By that time we had set decorations and the mother of the bride was wiping down chairs. Again, unacceptable. When it came time for dinner, it was done in a buffet style. This was a buffet set up like none I've ever seen before. Guests entered the buffet from either end and exited through the middle. Strange. They also serve you at the buffet like a lunch lady, most likely to control food portions. There is no bar service or table service, so if you plan on having a wedding reception there, make sure you plan this out. Guests must get up and serve themselves for all beverages. They have no glass, but what they do have is biodegradable plastic cups which melt when left in the sun. So, when you go to open a new sleeve of cups, half may be melted and un-useable. Basically, what I witnessed at this place was a serious lack of 'a sense of urgency'. I feel that for the amount of money that the bride and groom spent on this, they should have recieved a lot more in return. They acted as if they could care less about someone's special day, which is unfortuneate, since they probably make a pretty penny off of these all summer long. I would reccommend this venue for the scenery, but most definately NOT the service. Future brides and grooms do A LOT of research about this place before you book! I would suggest having your wedding somewhere else that actually gives you the service, time and attention you deserve on your wedding day. read more

It has been exactly 1 year since Brian and I said "I do". We were so happy with our venue choice - Pinegri-la was just perfect for us. We enjoyed the mountain setting, the relaxed atmosphere, the variety of activities available, the friendly and hard working staff, the delicious food, the great weather, the unlimited fun we could have in this private resort! Also, thank you for the suggested vendors, the people we selected from the list did marvelous job as well - you surround yourself with great professionals. The bottom line is that we could not have been more pleased with everything and even one year later ,we are still getting compliments from our friends, some of them stating that this has been the best wedding they have ever been to. This venue is beautiful! My husband and I had our wedding at Shasta Weddings and it was awesome! From the moment we contacted the owners John and Beth, they went above and beyond to make our day an unforgettable day. The cute hand-built, rustic style cabins on the property, were plenty enough to accommodate our large party. We also had the option to park an rv and pitch a couple tents. With several local swimming holes nearby, more than enough room/area to utilize, cooler climate, and the stunning views just can't be beat. Great venue, with a great staff that truly love what they do. Beth and John are awesome people, we will definitely be returning for many more life events and really to just say hi! read more

I definitely recommend this location for a wedding or family reunion. My friend and I recently had a friends' reunion here and it was amazing. There were adequate accomodations in the cabins and everyone loved the outdoor showers. The property is so beautiful with the trees and flowers and of course the mountains. We also enjoyed the fact that we were the only ones at the property and didn't have to share the place with strangers. We went on hikes, relaxed in the swings, and had dessert around the firepit in the evening while stargazing. We've also had two family reunions here in 2001 and 2003 with over 30 people of all ages. This is the place, where time forgot about. Above the clouds of the world. A most peaceful place, where you would change nothing, even if you could. We have stayed here a few times, with nothing but the best service and accommodations for a resort hidden deep in the Shasta Trinity National Forest. The owners are "the best", allowing their guests to just be who they are, and do what they want. They know what they're doing and how to do it. After reading the negative reviews of Pine Gri La, I could not stand by and read this nonsense without giving an unbiased and reasonable review. Of all the places I have visited through out the world, I can not say enough positive things about Pinegri La and the owners of this breathtaking and beautiful venue. I had the privilege of staying the weekend there while attending a very close friends wedding. Not only is the venue magical, the owners and their staff are professional, courteous, eager to accommodate any of their guest needs. We had our wedding here this weekend. It is really a beautiful up there and the owners put a lot of effort in making it look great for your wedding. I read a lot of these reviews and It seems that some people had issues with communication, but that's a two way street. Beth and John answered any questions we had and worked with us, you just need to be honest with what you want. They are very up front about their costs and really try to make sure that the costs are understood before any obligation is made. Obviously it is your own responsibility to read the contract. They were very flexible and generous with us. I would definatley recommend this place to anyone looking for a wedding venue. The only thing I might recommend for the owners is to do a simplified one page price sheet that lays out all of the costs and options to avoid the confusion in trying to figure out how much it is going to cost the couple, especially since it sounds like many of the negative reviews I've read have been about "hidden/extra" costs. The place is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The cabins were clean and neat, and all the staff was helpful and nice. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful. All of our guests loved the venue and had a wonderful time. It was a very fun, relaxing, and stress free wedding. read more
