A lengthy review but here I go....I debated ever purchasing a vehicle from here. My friend had bought a truck a little while back and within the first 48 hours of having it, a tire had come off while he was making a turn. Someone at the dealership didn't properly install the lug nuts. None the less, I found a decent car with low miles within my price range, so I set that fact aside and purchased my car in the beginning of last August. My second red flag was when I was told what my trade-in value was worth, even after I ran my own numbers. I should have walked when they said they got the numbers from Kelley Blue Book, ironically that's where I got my numbers from too, even underpricing it myself as to not get my hopes up. BUT I felt this was normal for dealerships and only being a grand in negative equity at the end of it, I let that slide too. When I first test drove the car, I noticed it shifted weird, but was told it was because of the type of transmission the car had and upon further explanation, it DID make sense. After having the car for a day though, I just didn't feel right about it and called the service department about the problem. I was reassured that this was normal, but they would check it out anyways. Intuition being right, my car was back in the shop after being home a mere 24 hours with a bad clutch. I asked them to check the brakes and rotors out as well because I could hear howling and slight scuffing of metal, which in my experience has been bad rotors. I was told the rotors and brakes showed a little rust but must have been from sitting so long without being drove daily, again making sense. On December 28, I took my car in for a free oil change, tire rotation, car wash and to be swept out. I was still hearing the metal and howling and asked that be checked out....again. When I showed up to pick my car up, I noticed it was still dirty. The technician apologized, said they forgot to clean it and to bring it back at a later date to do so, which I never did. I was told the howling was from bad tires, but rotors and brakes still looked alright. However, I'm currently changing my rotors and brakes because I can't stand the noise anymore. To no surprise, they are gouged, the kind of damage that would have been seen when I had my car into them in December.
A few little minor imperfections but not sure who is to fully blame, the 12-volt charging port under the radio doesn't work but luckily the other one does. There was a dime in what would be credit-card slots, beside the shifter, that I had to figure out how to remove because the rattle was extremely annoying. This very well may be a manufacturers issue but there are literally multiple size bolts for several different parts between the calipers, the caliper brackets and brake lines, and not just one-part matching another. There were 12, 13, 14 and 18mm and half inch throughout the entire assembly on all 4 tires. For example; 12 mm was used on the back-passenger brake line while 14 mm was used on the rear driver brake line.
I understand this whole situation is a "he said, she said" scenario. I don't expect everyone to believe the story and of course, I'm sure the dealership has their side as well. I know the truth on my side and am simply giving folks things to take into consideration when choosing a dealership to buy from. I wish I would have trusted my first gut instinct when I had the chance. read more
