The haircut I got from Carlos was quick and great!! The one downside is that they took me about 15 minutes late, but hopefully that was just a one-off. We brought a paper with several photos of how my son wanted his hair for Max to use as a guide. I made sure to use photos of people with his same hair length and texture as my sons so the results would be attainable. The haircut came out much shorter than the pictures we brought. It Looked much different. I personally loved how it came out better than how my son wanted it. I was nervous as we left thinking my son hated it. My son was a bit disappointed because he wanted the hair longer in the back. It took him a few days but he ended up being very happy with his haircut and said it was the best style he's ever had! It was much less maintenance than how it would have been if it were like the style in our photo we brought. My sons self esteem improved each day he had time to adjust to the haircut. A week after his haircut....i saw him checking himself out in mirrors every time he passed one. he was very happy with Max's work. It was a pricey cut but the shop was very nice and clean and Max was very professional and welcoming. Worth every penny. Although it wasn't what we asked for it was definitely better when it came to ease of styling and matched my sons head shape and hair pattern. Max knew better than we did! i tipped him 50% of the cost of the cut and would highly recommend him to all.

At the end of my appointment, I pointed out that four of my nails were rough on the corners and asked if she could file them, which she did. I also mentioned that my nails did not look like a jelly manicure. Jelly nails should have a translucent, glossy, almost Jell-O-like appearance, while mine looked matte. Another technician told me the matte appearance was because I had lotion on my hands. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when I got home, I thoroughly washed my hands and my nails were still matte. I also noticed that my middle nail was unusually thick and uneven at the tip. I returned the following day to give the salon an opportunity to address my concerns. They buffed them with a cloth that gave it more shine but it was still not a jelly manicure. Unfortunately, I was given several different explanations--first that it was because two coats had been applied, and then that my "nail beds must be dark." I honestly had no idea what that was supposed to mean, and by that point, I felt insulted and frustrated by the excuses rather than feeling that my concerns were being heard. They did offer to redo my nails if I was willing to wait, but at that point, I was simply done with the experience. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, which is disappointing because I genuinely wanted to like this salon.

I also appreciate that they never reuse nail files or buffers, which makes the salon feel very clean and hygienic. Another thing I love is that they never make you feel rushed, even when they're busy. If you know, you know! One of the worst salon experiences is when there's a line of people waiting, the technicians rush through your appointment, and the quality of the work suffers. I've gotten a 'clean up cut' here from Frank (who happened to be on his first day at the shop when I had came in for my first time back in August), and I've been impressed with the level of his professionalism and attention to detail. Had cuts every two weeks here since the place opened. Everything you want in a shop, and none of the nonsense. Call ahead for sure. When the barber pole is spinning in front, they accept walk-ins. I think they have an online or text type reservation system also. Genuinely friendly people, staff and clients. Good networking in here too, never know who is going to walk in the front door. I've been getting cut by Sheldon for almost 5 years now. He's always kept me looking right, and getting me back on track when I've had to travel and miss haircuts for long periods of time.
