I almost never write Yelp reviews. But if anyone deserves one it's Jimmy. He is literally everything you want in a barber: great, consistent cuts from a talented and passionate person, very affordable (especially considering quality!), and great conversation every time. For most of my life I've just kinda gone to whomever is open or close, but I'm super happy to have finally found someone that I got to for every cut I get. He knows exactly what I like and he's great at it. Jimmy's a guy who's curious about people and life and clearly puts a lot of effort into everything he does. To quote Omar from the Wire, "A man's got to have a code." This man most certainly does and we are all better for it. read more

James has been cutting my hair for more than 7 years now. He's the only barber I trust that can give me a quality consistent cut every time I step out of that chair. He takes the time to pay attention to the details and can hold great conversations within the process. He's a seasoned veteran and easily gets 5 stars. My only complaint is that there's too many of y'all taking my time slots because he's just that good! Lol all jokes aside this man deserves it. He's a great honest barber that will tell you like it is and on top of that he's just a solid dude to get to know. So if you're looking for a quality barber at a reasonable rate, James is that man. read more

Been coming to Jimmy for almost a year. He is very fast, very good, and very personable. I normally don't like interacting with people and have never really had any sort of lasting conversation with a hair stylist, but I like that I can go chat with him, get a super consistent super clean cut, and be out the door without a massive price tag. I should specify that I have a fairly basic haircut, but he consistently delivers every single time. I've yet to had any detail of it ever be different or sub-par. I don't require shampoo'ing or all the stuff salons offer and I'm glad that I don't have to pay for it either. read more

Pretty awesome... they made my hair look sweet! Awesome crew in a fantastic place! read more

James Sanchez - Outside! - Barbers Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

My grandson and had a favorite barber that he grew up with. She recently moved away and we have been looking for someone to match his taste in haircuts. He is very particular and we found this place on Yelp (thank you for the great reviews). We were welcomed warmly by several staff and customers. The ambiance is nice , reminding us of the "old school" barber shops. Quality first. The sitting area / waiting area was comfortable and roomy. My daughter myself and my grandson enjoyed our time there, as the barber took special care of his request of a mohawk haircut. The young barber spent quite a bit of time crafting the haircut. Before he finished the master barber came over to check his work and gave him some advice to create an even better cleaner look. We appreciated the beautiful job he did. We will definitely come back again. My grandson said, " this is the place!" read more

James Sanchez - This was not an easy haircut to give. But thebarber and staff took a lot of time meticulously making sure it was just right - Barbers Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

First time I've actually enjoyed going to get a haircut. Jimmy is a great person and a gifted barber. I'm actually less pessimistic about the human race because of this haircut. Do yourself a favor and keep them lines sharp with On Point barbershop. I fully endorse this establishment. Thanks for keeping the hope alive! read more

I've recently moved in the area and been looking for a great place to get my hair cut. I've been to super cuts and I'll say after coming here I'll never ever go back to super cuts again. They messed me up, not once. But twice. Don't ask why I went again. I guess because it was a good price. Anyways, so when I went here after reading the reviews and knew I'd get the hair I wanted that super cuts couldn't achieve. Pierre did a great job! Definitely coming here again. read more

Been going to James for almost a year now, hands down the best barber I've ever been to in the Bay Area. Honestly there's only one other barber I had who came close and he was in Hawaii. Between the super clean cuts, attention to detail, and good conversation he does an ace job. If you can get an appointment with him you will not be disappointed. Never had a bad cut, always left happy. read more

James' cuts are always on point. I send all my friends to him and he never lets us down. Lake Merritt's freshest fadez

As a guy who has dated his share of hairstylists in his life, most of my haircuts have come from salons and very few from barbershops. Either my girlfriends' were cutting my hair themselves or sending me to an overpriced, chick place to have it done to me. It was this brainwashing that put me under the (wrong) impression that barbershops were for "old guys" with no specific style. On Point changed all that. Jimmy is a great guy with a good eye for what looks good. He loves to talk and will offer you a beer while he gets the deed done. He's located in a great up and coming neighborhood so go check him out!! read more

I noticed this new shop while walking through the east Lake Merritt neighborhood and decided to give it a try. Jimmy gave me an excellent haircut at a great price. He has a very pleasant manner with customers. This neighborhood is turning a corner and Jimmy is one of the reasons. Give him a try! read more

Recent Oakland resident, moved from Michigan. Wouldn't trust just anyone with my hair, last barber had for years. After extensively comparing around the bay...theirs no better place to go! Best fade I've seen from another barber..took his time very nice guy. May have to wait a bit...(go on a day off) without a doubt it's deff worth the time! :D read more

Jimmy is the ONLY barber in the Bay that gives me fades like I used to get on the East Coast. And he's quick. Highly recommend... professional, courteous, quick and accepts credit cards. read more

Jimmy does great work. The man is a young and skilled, versatile barber. Not only is he seemingly in tune with current mens cuts, styles, tapers, etc. ... he undoubtedly does exceptional work with various classic looks as well --just look at the photos on Yelp. He's a very amicable & chill guy, easy to talk to/with, and he's confident in his work as a barber. The price for a regular mens cut is reasonable too! I should mention that he's now at a different location than the address listed here (131 E 16th St), so be sure to text him via phone to get the address of where he is currently posted at-- now along Grand Ave, still adjacent to Lake Merritt. So for fellas looking for a fresh, sharp, clean look in whatever way you generally prefer to have your hair cut, definitely hit up Jimmy! read more
