I was looking for somewhere to grab some good breakfast on a solo outing. Yelp helped me locate this establishment that was not too far and I wasn't disappointed. Upon walking in, I felt like I was about to get a New Orleans breakfast plate (IYKYK). There was so much to choose from. I got a few items just to sample. The pancake is huge and yummy. All of the food was good but the customer service was even better. Being allergic to pork, I was skeptical at having a source of meat but grilled chicken is an included breakfast option and they have Patton hot sausage too. The cashier checked out a few ways to ring it up to make sure I had the lowest price and that was amazing! The place is clean and there is good parking and restrooms. I even saw them working a drive-thru. I'll definitely be back.

The best breakfast on this side of heaven! The wait time is long only because sooo many people patronize this establishment! It is a hidden gem! Id advise anybody to try once. So many items to choose from! Good down home cooks! Not sure what lunch is like, will have to try one day.

When we walked in there were 3 bartenders, we took a seat directly in front of red head, she didn't greet offer water or anything, Same with the bartender she was heheing with. They became stoned faced & scurried to the opposite end of the bar. However we did notice her demeanor was different when a certain color approached the bar & she was oh so helpful & full of smiles. We sat for quite awhile & started looking for elsewhere, almost as if they were playing rock paper scissors in their head about who was going to serve us, yea. One finally shows up we decided to get a round of drinks & 2 appetizers & go to Tio Javi's hastily. The drinks were sweet, not like they used to be, boudin balls were good, dip lacked luster. When he saw we were leaving so soon, then he tried to compliment my nails. A tip was the furthest thing from my mind but my sis thought I should, but I most definitely wouldn't have. Honey no need, I will never step foot & spend my money here ever again! At this point post the sign on the door, you know, "that sign".

This is a historic building that was once a bank, and it retains its historic murals as well as other features. It's definitely a place to take someone visiting or whom you would like to impress! The menu likewise is impressive, it's created by serious chefs. It includes everything from a simple burger to some fine steaks. I tend to go for the appetizers and small plates. However, they also have some quality seafood as well as Cajun specialties (including a good gumbo). There are regular specials, and the "Soup of the Moment" is also worth trying. They have particularly good charcuterie boards! The service is also great, the staff are dressed all in black, and there are white tablecloths. It's a near fine dine, but not as stuffy as one might expect. Definitely a place worth trying in Downtown Baton Rouge!

The atmosphere is small, cozy, and inviting, making it just as good for a casual dinner as it is for a special night out. If you get the chance, don't miss their Restaurant Week menu. They always go above and beyond, and this year was no exception. The quail, stuffed with boudin and served over red beans, was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. It was one of the standout dishes I've had in quite a while. If you're in Baton Rouge and can't decide where to eat, City Pork on Jefferson is a place you can count on. Great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere keep me coming back.

For appetizers, we had the cachapas with pork which were delicious. Recommended app for sure! My wife had an Indian curry with cabbage, purple rice, chick peas and spinach-wow!!!!!! Probably the creamiest tasting curry ever! You could add a protein but wifey went with the vegetarian option and it was great! It wasn't perfect bc there were some chick peas that weren't cooked all the way and were crunchy I went with the mussels in a pesto cream sauce with potatoes and it was sooooo delicious!!! Again not perfect as some mussels had that sandy/gritty taste which I didn't like it most of the them were fine. The ambience here is great!
