Never thought I wouldn't say there's too much meat on a steak and cheese sub, but there's so much meat that the whole thing is dry! Where's the cheese? Mayo is squirted across the top. Vegetables aren't cooked if you can find them, the rolls was supposed to be toasted and it's not. Since when do you have to use a fork to eat a sub? Make sure you grab 4/5 packages of mayo or mustard so it not as dry. I was surprised they actually had white American cheese to put on it. read more

I've never posted a review that was bad. But after posting a review on Facebook of the Sharon Trading Post and then having had an employee respond, defending themself and shaming me, I'm going to write one here as well. Last night my husband went in after to work to get two salads for us. He asked the lady working what time they closed because he didn't want to be that guy keeping them late. The woman said six thirty and it was just a couple minutes before six thirty. She said it was fine though and my husband thanked her and ordered a chef salad. She went in the back and he called me to make sure I wanted the same. We were on the phone twenty seconds when she came back out with a guy who was talking loudly about soup (wanting my husband to order that instead). My husband asked what kind of cheese and then the guy said "no we're not making the salads, we're closed." It was six thirty one at this point. When my husband, confused, asked calmly why the man gave him some rude response about how "he could get on him all he wants but this is when the close now." Both my husband and I would have been fine being told no right from the get go. I've worked in the service industry a long time and I get the annoyance of someone coming in late. But never would I ever tell someone it was fine and then take it back. The other thing is that it is fine. Six thirty is six thirty. If I had a table come in at 8:28 and we close at 8:30, I wouldn't kick them out at 8:31 because their food wasn't ready again. We would have never made the mistake of cutting it so close again. However, after I posted this review, an employee responded by defending their choice and shaming us for not choosing something out of the display counter. After that treatment- why would he choose a sandwich or soup he didn't want to begin with? We would have been fine being told no and trying another time, which I said and he said. Absolutely horrible customer service. We will not be back and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I stopped in early on a Sunday afternoon (7/25) to buy a few energy drinks and snacks. The person running the counter told me I bad to use the self-scan checkout. While I was doing that, he personally scanned the items for the next two customers. I felt so slighted. I will never go back. read more

Five stars because this is a great pit stop. On what can be a very long drive to and from the slopes (depending on where you're traveling from), this is the place to stop. Gas station and very large convenience store. Not limited to what one may think of what envisioning a convenience store. They have snacks, sandwich counter, coffee and gift items. I lived in and traveled through the Quechee and Sharon areas of Vermont since 1986. Many times have I stopped at the Trading Post for fuel, snacks, and a few staple items for the kitchen. What prompted me to do a review on my most recent pass through my beloved green mountain state? DONUTS!!! Yes, I was caught eyeballing the plate of cinnamon/apple donuts, and was encouraged to try. "They're the best," I was humbly told. Sure, I've heard that before. I bought one. I went out to my car, and while preparing to leave, I took a bite. And booked it right back into the store. "Sell me another!" I pleaded. Another was sold. What makes these donuts the best ever is not merely their taste, but the most perfect cinnamon crunch to that first bite on the outside, followed by sweet softness on the inside. Donut heaven, discovered roadside in the foothills. 5-stars for the donuts and friendliness, and 5-stars for having a deli and just about everything else one could hope for in a country store/trading post. read more

The Sharon Trading Post is a great little store right off I-89 in Sharon, VT. They are an official Vermont Liquor Store, and they also have a decent selection of local micro-brews. They have a great selection of goods to tide you over until you need to do your next big grocery trip to a larger store. There is a deli where you can get a delicious sandwich made, or buy cuts of meat from local suppliers (far superior to what you will get at your standard mega-mart). They also sell a lot of local Vermont products (disclaimer: they sell my family's maple syrup). The owners, Rob & Kathy, are some of the nicest people you'll meet. There is an ATM outside if you are low on cash. The store is also a gas station. Check this place out the next time you are in the area! read more

Fairly large convenience store with a bathroom and GREAT beer selection! I picked up some local beer from Burlington. They also have stuff from Vermont like honey and maple syrup. Didn't get any food so can't comment on that. read more

I'm sadly disappointed in my recent food order from the newly renovated Sharon Trading Post. I ordered a large pizza with sausage, onions and mushrooms. Firstly the sausage was breakfast sausage, not Italian sausage! Secondly they added green peppers, no where in my phone order did I mention green peppers, what toppings that were on my pizza were scant at best. The bottom (crust) was black/burnt and the top was very underdone. i would not recommend ordering pizza from this place nor will I in the future. read more

Ahhh the Sharon Trading Post. I love this store. Great location and the parking situation improved when they added more gas pumps and paved the lot. Their subs are top notch and they have a great selection of items, including some tasty Vermont products. They have some of the best homemade mac n' cheese! There's an ATM right outside and they also happen to be a VT State liquor location *Bonus*!! Also, the employees are very personable, polite and quick to help. read more

I love this store. Huge pillars greet you as you walk by a community message board and pull open the screen door. Inside you've got a nice selection of Vermont products, groceries, meat and sandwich (grinder) counter, a great beer and wine selection as well as a Vermont Liquor section. DO NOT order subs from the kitchen in the back. Pathetic excuse for a submarine sandwich. Ordered the "buffalo chicken" sub. The "buffalo chicken" was chunks of precooked grilled chicken served COLD smothered in a mystery orange sauce with zero flavor. The sub roll was extremely stale and disgusting. Flys were swarming the kitchen making for an unfavorable experience. They had the nerve to charge 9 dollars for this poor excuse for a sub. Grabbed a candy bar up by the register and it was coated in a layer or dust. Will not return. read more

This is one of the nicest country stores that I've been to. It has a huge selection of home made food and deli products. The beer selection is great. It has a lot of tourist items too like shirts and maple syrup. The prices are really good, especially on the deli items. I'm always tempted to stock up on their potato salad when I'm in the area. Great location just off of the highway so you can pick up some interesting munchies for that long trip home. Very friendly staff. read more

I stopped in real quick and after a quick glance around i asked the girl at the counter if they sold breakfast sandwiches. she said she had one bacon egg and cheese left and asked if i wanted it, and came back a few seconds later with it wrapped up hot in foil. i know its a simple item but holy cow the bacon was so good! read more

I grew up two houses down from the Sharon trading post and i can assure you that this is one of the best stores to go if you need anything. gas, groceries, and more. I am a personal friend of the owners rob and kathy and they are great people. You can rent tubes in the summer and buy fresh maple syrup in the winter. they also have a deli where you can get some amazing sandwiches along with homemade baked goods ranging from doughnuts to tarts. You can find most things there, from movies to carved wood statues. right off the interstate, it's a great place to stop, with an amazing view of natural VT looking down the road. read more
