I told my wife that, and she had 0 interest in trying them. But then she did, and immediately her mind changed. We stop on the way up and back on any trip to Vermont. It's 2 hours from Boston, and about an hour and a half from Middlebury, so it's the perfect spot for an off-highway meal. Any trip to Vermont isn't complete without at least one of these sandwiches - and if we have to skip, it's always with the promise that next time we will make sure to stop. I'm not going to say that these sandwiches are the best in the world. They're not made with impeccable ingredients, locally-sourced from farmers who care. No, what these sandwiches are are middle-of-the-country, happened-up, secret-back-deli sandwiches that will fill you quickly and happily. You're going to order your sandwich from someone who may be slightly annoyed that you're bothering them into making you a sandwich, but don't take that as a negative - they're still going to make you the same delicious sandwich every single time, without variance. This location has a separate facility devoted to "the facilities". Located in the Log Cabin off to the side, there is a Ladies, Men's, and Family room to address your comfort needs. Signs around the cabin say that the Irving Oil brand prides itself on clean restrooms. It's no frills, but super clean and most everything is no-touch. This can often be a Godsend to traveling families & parents of small kids. There's also a bench inside if members of your party need to wait.
