Yep... broken water pump and overheating... Mind you, this GMC 2018 Sierra (fully paid off)... has gotten me completely cross country back in October, 2024... with no issues, not even a scratch... Vehicle is towed to Bob's Service Center at 10 am that day... Not Bob, but Josh... "Let's see, water pump, coolant and belt tensioner assembly need replacing... it'll be ready by two..." Josh was right on schedule... Professional, thorough, and kind... Picked up the vehicle... warranted work for 2 years/24,000 miles... back on the freeway I went... only a few hours delay... but no matter... the vehicle must be reliable... It was... Coldest day in White River Junction... This driver and owner will seek these gentlemen out for future auto repairs... they are simply the best... And kind... They explained everything... I do appreciate the thoughtful and thorough approach... A cold day driving with a vehicle failure... could have been made much more difficult... but it was not... it was a beautiful day... This location has a separate facility devoted to "the facilities". Located in the Log Cabin off to the side, there is a Ladies, Men's, and Family room to address your comfort needs. Signs around the cabin say that the Irving Oil brand prides itself on clean restrooms. It's no frills, but super clean and most everything is no-touch. This can often be a Godsend to traveling families & parents of small kids. There's also a bench inside if members of your party need to wait.

I stopped here this summer enroute from Montreal to Boston. The kids and I were hungry for lunch so I ventured inside the station (oops, sorry, the "market"), to ask if there was a restaurant or diner nearby they'd recommend. What the guy behind the counter said to me just astounded me. He said "I have no idea. I never eat out". Like, what? I repeated, well, has he heard of any decent places from anyone (thinking, surely, in this small town, even if it's true that this guy never ever ever had a meal outside of his White River Junction home, surely he's HEARD of a restaurant that was good, right?). Nope! He said perhaps the restaurant down the street was good but he doesn't know, he 's never been there, he's "an eat-in kind of guy". I am quoting him verbatim. Meanwhile, he never looked up at me, as he was sorting money in the cash register. Not once did he look up, or make any sort of eye contact. This whole exchange was out of a Jerry Seinfeld episode (for those of you who get the reference!). Who out there lives in a small town (let alone, perhaps, a large city) who can't recommend a place for a passer-through to get lunch? Worst customer service ever.
