Cold and snowy day... January 22, 2025... Southbound on the 91outside of White River Junction, VT... sensed a strong odor of antifreeze... pulled into a gas station... Yep... broken water pump and overheating... Mind you, this GMC 2018 Sierra (fully paid off)... has gotten me completely cross country back in October, 2024... with no issues, not even a scratch... Vehicle is towed to Bob's Service Center at 10 am that day... Not Bob, but Josh... "Let's see, water pump, coolant and belt tensioner assembly need replacing... it'll be ready by two..." Josh was right on schedule... Professional, thorough, and kind... Picked up the vehicle... warranted work for 2 years/24,000 miles... back on the freeway I went... only a few hours delay... but no matter... the vehicle must be reliable... It was... Coldest day in White River Junction... This driver and owner will seek these gentlemen out for future auto repairs... they are simply the best... And kind... They explained everything... I do appreciate the thoughtful and thorough approach... A cold day driving with a vehicle failure... could have been made much more difficult... but it was not... it was a beautiful day... Don't go anywhere else! After 5yrs of searching I found my shop. The team treats my ratty old Ford diesel like it's a historic gem. Even taught me a few tips no one else knows. This team keeps both my 1990 Fussy ole Ford and my Subaru in the finest of mechanical condition for a price that is affordable. I had urgent car trouble while traveling the interstate with my children and not yet to my destination. I stopped at an auto part store and the employee recommended I go to Bob's in the morning. I tried calling a towing company, who also recommended going to Bob's in the morning. I asked a police officer at a gas station if anyone was open at that hour of night (9pm) and he said no, but I should go to Bob's in the morning. Of all the places in the area, 3 separate locals recommended Bob's. I was blown away by the exceptional service from Dan. I called first thing in the morning, he said bring it right in. He immediately had an idea of the problem. I Test drove it a little bit and confirmed the problem, he fixed it, and then confirmed it was fixed. Dan wanted to make sure my car was 100% before I drove my kids another 120 miles so he had me come back before I left the area to triple check it that it was in good working condition. We had a flat tire on our road trip and Bob's was the closest car service center. We ended up there by circumstance and they were truly unbelievable. I had a new tire on my car within 2 hours (a team member personally ran out to get a tire from a supplier that matched my vehicle), and the pricing was quite literally beyond belief- half of what I expected. They could have charged me anything and I would have had to pay it, and they chose to be kind. They were so friendly and wonderful and saved us from being trapped out of town beyond our planned stay. Had a great experience with Bob's Service. I was driving to Dartmouth College to visit my son. The last hour of the drive, my tire indicator showed the right rear tire was losing air. I stopped and put air in, then 15 miles later, it happened again. So I got air about every 15 minutes to make it to the hotel. Called Bob's in the morning, explained my situation. A truck was sent to my hotel to add air to my tire so I could drive over. Less than 15 minutes, they fixed the tire. It was a nail. Only charged me $20! read more

The pumps weren't taking credit cards and though I tried to pay inside the attendant walked out in the middle of the conversation to do a full serve that pulled up and expected us to wait. If you need gas I suggest you do what I did and use one of the other gas stations read more

Since then I've found them indispensable - both in providing quality economical service and (more important) in diagnosing problems in my car *without* recommending needless repairs. Everyone, employees and customers, is mourning the loss of Roger, who was the backbone of the place until he left a few weeks ago but the guys I dealt with when I took my car in were doing everything possible to take up the slack and keep things ticking. I dealt mostly with Jason who was manning the desk, phone, garage interface with a great attitude and efficiency. I thought I might have to look for another place when Roger left but this visit has encouraged me to stick around and see how it goes. They went to great lengths to check out my car, provided a little extra service without charge (cleaning mud out of my tire wells, yuck!) and were careful to let me know about the increased cost of one part. As usual, everyone was friendly, and as an older (ancient?) woman I never feel sidelined or condescended to there. read more

I had a warning light coming on when I started my car that I had not noticed before and wasn't sure whether it was a problem. They could not schedule an appointment for several weeks, but said that I could bring it in anytime and they would check the computer codes to see if there really was anything wrong. I dropped in and they checked it right away. Very courteous and helpful and thankfully nothing was wrong with my car! read more

Kind of pricey but in & out, free coffee, good service & local. Plus a nice picnic table outside while you wait (6 months of the year this makes sense). About $250 for an oil change & to change my winter tires to my summer tires, plus replaced air filter. So expensive but hey that's Vermont living! Two lives: summer life & winter life. Two wardrobes, two tires, two of everything. I swallow the pill like we all do, there's a reason we stay. I'll be back I'm sure. In December to do the tire switch again. read more

After another rental truck company that starts with a "B" and rhymes with "fudge it" (that's all they could do for us) didn't have the truck we reserved when we arrived to pick it up, we turned to U-Haul for help. The U-Haul reservation line and employee at Bob's came through wonderfully and gave us excellent customer service. They gave us a brand new (500 miles on the odometer!) 20' truck for near the same price as the absent 17' truck we reserved from the other guys. Bravo, U-Haul and Bob's! I was stranded on interstate 91 just outside Hanover, NH and they with AAA got out to me in record time. They were very personable and didn't give me attitude when I wanted my car towed to my normal mechanic in Lebanon. In a pinch near white river junction with your car, use these guys. read more

My car's hood wasn't closing and I thought my latch seemed busted. They were quick to confirm my diagnosis and didn't try to push anything else on me. I brought in the car a couple of days later and didn't realize that they had scheduled my service for later in the morning. They expected me to drop off my car even though I intended to wait there (which I did not initially make clear to them). They bumped up my service and saw me out in time so I could get to work. Brought my car here for the first time for an inspection. They said that I needed new breaks in order to pass. I just had the breaks and rotors replaced 6 months ago. Went to another garage for a second opinion. Did not disclosed what Bob's had told me. They completed an inspection and did not find anything wrong with my car. Bob (owner) has a great reputation, but I would not trust the employees that serviced my car and would not go to Bobs again. read more

Worst "garage" ever. I spent $2,000 there a year ago getting my car fixed and had to bring it back three times because they failed to properly attach a hose. They also put the wrong oil filter in my car causing my oil pump to fail so now because of that I need to replace it because "there's nothing they can do". Save yourself many headaches and take your car somewhere else for service. read more
