I recently purchased a new car there, and had the service department apply an undercoat. This was against my better judgement, as I have had issues with their service department before. I was unhappy with some of the work they did on my new car 2 days after I bought it. I contacted my salesperson to let him know what I was unhappy with, and at first he contacted my partner, instead of me directly. Then when I contacted him directly again, he never bothered responding. The only time he contacted me directly was right after I bought my car,to send me a video message asking me to give him a perfect rating on the survey Subaru sent me. This dealership has a terrible service department, and now, I will never buy a car from them again, either. read more

My Subaru had only 3200 miles on it when it started making a strange noise from the rear wheels. I was due for an oil change and while getting that done I asked them about the odd noise. The mechanics did a great job of diagnosing the issue. They used stethoscopes and determined it was an issue with the wheel bearings, very rare but covered by the warranty. I had to wait for parts but took it in the next week and everything is back to normal. So grateful for the excellent service and attention to detail. read more

I took my car in to get the brakes fixed and the brake lines inspected as part of a routine service. I spent over 2000 on repairs. 15 minutes after leaving the shop the brake light came on. My car was leaking brake fluid. I called and left a message and no one responded. When I was finally able to take it back in they told me that it was no fault of theirs they missed the brake leak in the inspection or contributed to the leak while fixing the brakes and said that the fix would cost me another $2,500. I requested to speak to a manager twice and no one ever reached out to me. No longer trusting there work I then left and took it to Bobs Service Center right down the road. They charged me $200 to fix the brake leak. Do yourself a favor and use a local mechanic. This establishment will try and fleece you and then convince you to buy a new car from them. I have purchased 2 cars from this place and I will never do business with them again. read more

All I can say is brace yourself and hold onto your wallet! This dealership service department has no morals. The staff is friendly enough, and getting an appointment was easy BUT we went in expecting a $1400-ish bill for replacing an air conditioning compressor and left after paying ...are you sitting down? $5,600!!!!!!! My local mechanic - who has been fixing cars for 40 years - did a bumper-to-bumper inspection on this 2013 Subaru (that we just bought) and gave it the thumbs-up to drive it across country and fix a few things (non-urgent) once we got to our new home. BUT WRJ Subaru found all sorts of things that 'needed fixing' and 'don't drive across country without fixing this...' I get it, dealerships make lots of money finding problems that need fixing - whether truly necessary or not. But $5,600!? And they told my 22 year old son to bring the car back in a few days (odd?) and they'd check to make sure everything was still OK, and ya know what? Yep, he went back and POOF! There was another problem and another $1,100 bill! Really? Why didn't you catch the problem before? Needless to say we WILL NEVER recommend this dealership service department. And we didn't let them do the $1,100 repair - we're sticking with our local guy. He was SHOCKED to learn that they scammed my son out of $5,600! The only reason we went to the dealership is that most small repair shops don't work on air conditioning. My best advice is find and give your business to the hard-working local, smaller repair shops. White River Subaru will be more than happy to steal as much of your money as they can. We traveled here to purchased a Crosstrek. My girlfriend was pre approved from our credit union. Our salesman Cory was bashing a previous customer and how crappy their credit score was. That customer according to our salesman was wasting everyone's time and that customer was still on show room working with another salesman. Our first red flag should've been that. After we test drove the car, Cory told us we HAD to buy the car today if the numbers worked and HAD to finance through them. We literally walked away and went to purchase at another dealer! read more

Jason DeFelice is the worst person I have had to deal with without exaggeration. He was rude, disrespectful, ignorant and was completely out of line. When first arriving he ignored me after I had began speaking to him to talk to the person I was with. The person I went with wanted to return the car she bought the day before. Jason stated that he would have it looked at. I explained it had sub-frame damage and that he was not listening to me, we did not want it looked at, just retuned. He then said who I was. I said my name. Then repeated the question. I again said my name. Then rudely asked how I know the person that bought the car. I told him it didn't matter, this is what we wanted to do and I was going to be apart of it. He left, came back and said they would reverse the deal. Said it was going to be about an hour. During this time Jason talked to the person returning the car twice only while she was away from everybody else. After over an hour and a half they finally brought the car around. Reason it took so long was apparently the wholesaler had the key. After they pealed a sticker off we asked about putting screws in the front license plate bracket. He tried the incorrect screws and broke the whole bracket. Then allowed the person with there old car to leave with no plates on the vehicle front or rear. They were so frustrated they left without even the sticker glue being cleaned. I went back inside asked a salesman (Todd, very polite gentleman) for the general manager. Jason took it upon himself to disregard that request and come up and ask us what we wanted. I said I wanted to sit in an office and speak with the GM and that I was not having this conversation in the middle of the sales floor. He told me I needed to put my blazer that was part of my suit and tie back on because of there strict rules for open firearms. No problem I said if that is what you need fine. He said yea you will do that. My patient was pretty well gone and being told rudely what I was going to do made it down even more. I handed my side arm to the person with me and asked them to just place in the car. I figured that was a great solution. He said to us both yea you guys will do that. At that time my patient was gone and I did yell at Jason. I understand policies but you do not tell a woman what she is going to do. The woman I was with felt very uncomfortable with these statements. Finally the GM came out after hearing me yell for half a minute. I asked to speak in an office. We spoke. Chris was exceptionally nice and handled everything we needed. I hold him with high respect and in great regard. He agreed to replace the bracket. To be clear the sub-frame damage was hard to spot, I do not hold that against the dealership, It was just one of those things. Jason should never tell anybody what they are going to do or mumble things under his breath. This was a very simple process blown so far out of proportion and a lot of wasted time. read more

This is the best car dealership I have ever worked with. I bought my subaru forester in Virginia, but when I moved to Hanover for school I found this dealership. They helped me transfer my service package, and have always been incredibly prompt, polite, and helpful. I can always get an appointment within a day or two of calling, and my car is always ready in the amount of time they say it will be (or less). I've come here twice with emergency tire issues (once with a puncture and once with a potential flat) without an appointment, and they helped me within 5 minutes and got my tires fixed right away. One time it was -10 degrees in the winter and one of the service men used a hand pump to fill my tire outside in the cold because all of the inside bays were full. That is some serious service! I never thought I'd feel so warm and fuzzy about a car dealership and service center, but these guys really do it for me! read more

Buying my Subaru from White River Subaru was a great experience, but maintenance done here was a nightmare. I bought an extended warranty when I purchased my car, and, when I got an inspection done, was quoted twice from Subaru saying that the warranty would fully cover the repairs. After dropping off the car and not hearing from Subaru for almost two business days, I was told they would not cover any of the repairs that they said they would cover and wanted me to pay around $3.5-$4k. They forced me to call Subaru of America to see if the repairs would be comped, Subaru referred me back to them. The "agreement" that was made was that I would pay for the wheel bearing replacements for $1.4k, but when asked why their quoted price was $250 more per wheel than any of the four service shops I called to get a quote at, they suddenly were able to do the repairs at the rate I received from another shop. A job that was supposed to take two days left me without a car for eight days and I had to pay $1000 for repairs that were twice quoted to me as "free". Do not get maintenance done here. They do not honor their warranties or the quotes they have given. I will not be going back, and I recommend that others do the same. read more

I HATE my current Subaru lease. I swear to you all my car is a lemon. I reached out to talk to someone about getting it looked at and possible switched and the guy was thrilled saying they need used cars. He then told me my payment would go up. when I told him it was to expensive he told me that he couldn't do anything els to help me... really? My car is a Lemon. This is my 2nd or 3rd experience with White River Subaru. Did an oil/oil filter change and other services today (10/23/19). I use AMSOIL motor oil and oil filter instead of the standard dealer-supplied stuff because I believe the AMSOIL products work better. White River Subaru said they'd get the products in, and they did. That alone rates 5 stars from me. The other services were tire rotation, new wiper blades and an outside detailing. This is one of the worst examples of a crooked "bait and switch" that I've ever come across. I mean, I know car dealers are notorious for this kind of garbage behavior, but this is really BEYOND. We were made aware of a special Subaru leasing deal on 2018 cars, good till the end of the month, offered st this dealership. Not offered at any of our more local dealerships. So we got up this morning and called THIS dealership, which assured us that they still had 8 of the vehicles that interested us in stock, and that they were definitely honoring the deal until the end of the month. We then drove TWO hours to THIS Prime Subaru dealership in Norwich, VT, only to be told that not only did they have NO 2018 cars in stock, but they'd never heard of this leasing offfer/deal, still posted plainly on their website for all to see. "Who'd ya speak to on the phone? Didja get a name? Gosh we're sorry! But can we run some other numbers on a 2019 vehicle for ya, maybe?" Avoid this place like the plague. The stink of dishonesty and chicanery rises off them like the poisonous miasma from a toxic swamp. read more

Made an appointment today to test drive one specific vehicle advertised for sale. Told them we were coming from pretty far away. Drove an hour and 20 minutes, got there right on time, only to learn the salesperson was out and it would be awhile. So we wait. And wait. And THEN we are told "we have good news and bad news: someone else is writing a check right now for the car you wanted, but we have others to show you..." I speak to one of the managers who then offers to "make things right" with some slick alternatives. Including: for only $2500 more we can get you a new vehicle. We walked. read more

This Dealership really went above and beyond to help us. We were traveling through Vt heading to a wedding on Sat 8/19 and somewhere in Ct our dashboard brake warning light lit up. We stopped in a Suburu off the Merritt highway in Ct. and the service dept said it would be a minimum 2 hr wait. No advice, no sympathy, no service. So we took our chances and kept heading North. But as we entered Vt it started flashing. We called Norwich Suburu and Erica told us to stop in and they would take a look. Unbelievable service! Erica greeted us warmly, had us bring the car right in and one of the mechanics came out of his lunch break and took a look. He said give him an hour and he'll let us know what he finds. Erica suggested visiting King Arthur Flour (RIGhT next door! What a great place!) and within 1 hr we had a diagnosis and sound advice to safely head on our way. We made it to the wedding safely and on time! We can't thank enough this awesome group of people at Norwich Suburu! Wish we lived closer! read more

This has been by far the worst customer services experiences of my life. I have or had a 2017 WRX which I bought from this dealership. I have had a lot of problems with this car. Within the first 1,000 miles, I needed to take the car back because of a faulty part that was in the transmission that should be not been there because it was a 2017, not a 2016. They installed the new part but they kept telling me it would be done by the next day but it never was. Eventually, I got the car back and the problems kept on coming. 4th gear would just violently vibrate at random sometimes, which I had to record and show them because they could not recreate it during there test drives. They replaced the shifter but that did not fix the problem. Then the car started to make a knocking sound which they can't seem to figure out what is going on. I also ordered touch up paint that never came, which I asked twice for and was ignored. I also e-mailed them questions about why my car was not heating up during those super cold days during the winter which was also ignored. Then comes the main reason I am writing this review. My car again started to have transmission problems at the beginning of July. (It would not shift into some of the gears) gain so they would believe me and I was also moving to Texas on the 30th. I tell Prime that I am moving and they said to me they could rebuild a car by then and this would not be an issue. They took my car and did not give me a rental or a loaner so I had to go and find a car my self for the week I thought. It is around the 16th of July at this point, I keep having to call them this entire week to get updates on my car because they are not calling me or returning my calls. After a few phone calls, I finally get an update and that my car will be fixed and its the 23rd. So the 23rd comes and goes and still no car. So I call them to see what's the hold up at the end of the day on the 23rd. They said something about the parts being late and it will be done tomorrow, I said ok...The 24th comes and its the same story. So on Thursday, I call Subaru of America to get them involved to see what they can do for me. From Subaru of America I get a guarantee that will be done on Saturday the 28th of July at 12 PM. Saturday comes and no call from the dealership...I call and my calls go unanswered. So eventually I get ahold of someone and they tell me my car does not even have its transmission installed...I have a mental breakdown because I have to be out of my apt by 9 am on the 30th of July and I have pets that cannot stay behind anywhere and wait for my car to be done. Subaru or Prime is not offering any solutions to this problem, so I have to demand for a rental car to drive to Texas in, they did not want to do this at first but after being forceful they agree. So I get a rental car and drive to Texas and just after I leave, I get sick from all this stress from this situation and am up for 36 hrs straight throwing up. I get to Texas and have to return the rental car. Now I have to figure out how to get my car. Subaru offers to fly me back and to do the whole drive again. I can't because the only good news I got during this whole trip is I got a job down in Texas, so I can't just fly back and spend another 4 days driving down, I have to start work. I go back and forth with Subaru and they agree a few days later to send my car down. Just to keep track I have been without my car since the 13th of July, it's now Aug 6th. They get some cheap car hauler to come and get my car and take it down to Texas. The car hauler picks it up a day late which at this point I am not surprised Subaru, Prime and the car hauler can't stick to a schedule. They pick up the car on the 16th and tell me I will get my car on the 24th. The 24th comes and no car, I get a call and am told the truck broke down but I will get my car on the 28th. The 28th comes and I still do not have my car, the car hauler does not know where my car is so now I do not have a car....I have spent a lot of money on buses and Lyfts to get around Austin Texas this month which was not an expense I was expecting. Subaru has not offered any help for a rental car during this time and does not care that I am without a car now. The moral of the story is do not buy from Prime or Subaru and do not go cheap on shipping. read more
