    Mild Sauce and Coleslaw

We wanted some fresh Catfish today, Saturday, August 17, 2024. Called our order in to Sharks Fish and Tony's Restaurant, 4741 Butterfield Rd, Hillside, IL. The cashier was nice and friendly over the phone, he told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When we arrived there was a small line of people waiting inside to place orders. We stood in line and waited our turn. When the cashier got to us we told him our number/order; paid and waited a few minutes for our orders. The cashier was nice in person too. Everything was fresh and hot. When we got home we didn't waste any time digging in. The fish, fries, and coleslaw were good. We were almost done with our meals when I remembered that I hadn't taken a picture of the orders. We will definitely return!

The cheeseburger was okay, but the patty was smaller than expected and could have used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. It wasn't bad, just a little underwhelming compared to other spots. The loaded fries were a highlight--topped with cheese, Italian beef, and fresh jalapeños. They were flavorful and absolutely massive, easily a meal on their own. We also had the breaded steak sandwich, which was decent but could have used some jalapeños for extra flavor. Portion-wise, it was very generous and easily enough for two people to share. The chicken fingers were just okay--good size, but again, a bit more seasoning would have helped. The mushrooms were solid, and the onion rings were better than most--big and crispy--but there were quite a few broken pieces. We also tried the famous cannoli shake, which tasted exactly like you'd expect--a cannoli in liquid form. If you like cannolis, you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, not a bad spot with generous portions and friendly service, but some items--especially the burgers--could use a bit more flavor and a larger patty to really stand out.

Perfectly crispy cod with tartar sauce and that classic, no-frills flavor that just hits right. It's only around Fridays during Lent, which makes it even more of a must-have this time of year.

This was obviously a Burger King recently as well. Finally,  there is a chain called Coco Bakery in the southwest United States and Coco's Famous Hamburgers in the Pacific Northwest (Portland,  OR) but all seem to have no relationship to this restaurant. The Hillside staff were friendly and helpful. They explained they have been there for about 6 months and walked me through the menu. There was a special running for their signature Classic Burger with fries and a small drink for $7. I also got the 3-piece Krunch Box with Jumbo Chicken Tenders for $8.49. The burger was on brioche bun (Thank you for buttering and grilling the bun! Many other places use the bun straight out of the bag.) They used leaf lettuce, tomato, two white raw onion rings, and their special sauce. It was tasty and substantial burger. The chicken strips were huge, white breast meat and met up to their Krunchy namesake. The decor was corporate Burger King as I do not think they made any changes to the interior dining area. Coco Burger also has a drive thru. We will be adding Coco Burger and Krispy Krunchy Chicken to our list for quick inexpensive bites

The chicken was cooked well and the batter was crunchy, but it was too salty for my taste and we did not like the krunch sauce. But overall, it was good chicken. The customer service was great; everyone was friendly and helpful as this was our first time there.

Found this place on the way back home from Oak Park after my first stop for an Italian beef (Poor…read moreBoy) had closed early for the night and I'm glad I did. Ariston makes a decent beef sandwich with soft bread, a nice serving of sliced beef, excellent tasting au jus and good giardineira. The medium fries and beef combo that comes with a canned drink was just under $15 which is a bit pricey but still not bad for the quality. Their crinkle cut fries are delicious and we're served crispy and piping hot. I luckily got in a little after 12:15am and was able to beat out the last minute rush as a good 5-6 cars pulled into the lot after I ordered. I don't think there would have been much of a wait even I had been a little later though as my order was ready in less than 5 mins. This made me a little worried but like I mentioned the food ended up being good. The staff were not necessarily friendly but I wouldn't characterize them as rude either. They just seemed to be really dialed in to get through all the orders which I appreciated. The interior is pretty lived in but it's not overly dirty or anything. They have an almost ridiculously extensive menu so I can't say much for the rest of the food but if a good beef and fries late at night is what you're looking for Ariston is a good option.

nice staff and food always good! fast service, fair prices. I have been a fan for over a decaderead more

The RC cola sign immediately took me back to my childhood and made me smile. We were greeted really warmly and had our questions answered about the menu. And when I tell you that jumbo polish sausage was worth every single calorie, I mean it. I had mine with everything except onions and relish. The hot peppers are spicy! In a great way! The sausage had a great snap when I bit into it and the classic polish sausage flavor was so good and perfectly spiced/seasoned. The bun was soft but didn't fall apart when I ate. The man who took our order was extremely nice and gave me a sample of the sloppy Joe to try as well. I felt like I was part of the neighborhood. The basket of fries was enormous and they were hot and fresh. RC tastes exactly like it did when I was a kid in Buffalo. The no-frills walk up counter/drive in style old-time atmosphere is retro-cool . We ate at one of the three standing tables . If I lived in Chicago, I would definitely be a regular at Mickey's. Thanks for a GREAT meal and warm welcome to Chicago. - your new friend from Virginia.

We were already in the area to check out Frank Lloyd Wright's studio and then came here for lunch afterwards. We were lucky that it was a Monday at lunch time and not a more traditional peak time to be there because we got a parking space fairly quickly and even though we saw the line out the door, it moved very fast. It's very much a cash-only and no-frills type of place. Don't come here expecting them to be super friendly to you. You go up there knowing what you want to order and they are quick and on it. When you're paying, they're already getting the other customer's (behind you) order. We went for an Italian beef sandwich to split as well as a side of fries and an Italian ice. Everything was excellent. Definitely the best Italian beef I've ever had and one of my friends said it was one of the best foods he had on his week trip here. Will definitely need to return!

Choosing an "off" night (example: a weeknight) or during a less-than-ideal time (example: during a snowstorm) will give you the quickest experience for Johnnie's as the line can get LONG and parking is terrible (tiny lot). Note: this was my second visit as my first attempt, on Father's Day 2025, was a magnificent bust. We had no line and plenty of seating this time! They have a big menu, but save the cute stuff for a follow-up visit and get a beef (& hot dog is really hungry). Do yourself a favor and get an Italian Ice too, time of year is irrelevant. You can thank me after your tastebuds recover from being overwhelmed. Is the food THAT much better than other spots, you ask? Not handedly, no. But the whole experience, especially if you wait in line (in the sun as there is zero shade), is what makes this place great. It really is a delightful Chicago experience. Put Johnnie's at the top of your list this summer, plan accordingly, and ENJOY!
