First of All!!!! The smells of good fish and chicken capture you as you walk in. I was in the area for a work training and after doing a search on Yelp for seafood we stumbled upon Shark. As an added bonus it's across the street from Dunkin so you know it was a win win for me. LoL Upon walking in, everyone behind the counter said "Hello! Welcome to Shark!" Oh my goshhhhhhhhh!!!! I was instantly all smiles. As a lover of service and customer application, the staff truly made me feel welcomed and presented nothing but positive energy and smiles. Reviewing the menu, there is an assortment of fish and chicken options. As an added bonus, the menu is offered fried or grilled. Woop Woop. LoL! I decided on the "Choose 2" combo with Wings and Whiting, both well done. Babeeeeeeeeeeee... Come get you some of this good food. The play was full. The chicken and fish were both well seasoned and perfectly done. The seasoning blend used really compliments both of the meats and doesn't overpower the natural flavors of the selections. The fries have the added crunch from the batter and to top it all off... they put that addicting white sprinkle on top. Lissennnnnnn... to this day I do not know what this white powder is, yet, what I do know is that it is absolutely and utterly delicious and deserving of coming in a bottle so I can buy some. LoL! The location is very spacious and has ample parking. The tables were clean as well as the floor making it great as an Eat-In or Take-Out option. Overall, this was a great experience. She told me there was nothing she could do about the fat in the meat. It comes like that all they do is cook it. Um. I really don't know what to say about this place. The only major pro is that the portion sizes are huge. This place operates like a fast food restaurant even though they have a sign that says this is not so. It's something about how they make the food right as you order (?). Who knows. The food itself was okay. It wasn't terrible for deep fried food. I had the catfish nuggets. It was pretty good. It comes with fries, 2 slices of toast (which it was hardly toasted), and coleslaw (which I never received). The whole chicken special my friends had was crazily large for 20 pieces. The chicken itself was okay. The breading around the chicken wasn't too heavy--it was a light coating. I usually like the skin to be crispy and flavorful, but this chicken wasn't cutting it in the flavor department. I guess this place is an alternative to the typical Church's, KFC, or Popeye's. Oh. And if you're trying to use the restroom, it's located outside behind the building. You don't really need a key to access the restrooms either so I guess non-customers can use it. Lol. read more

Late night dinner this place was open (thank goodness was). Chose the Mix Two option and selected the Fried Grouper with Chicken Wings (cane with 4 full wings) and a side of fries (total $12 including tax). Grouper was perfectly cooked and the wings are something to behold. My only catch would Be the fries. Texture hinted that they were just refried from an old batch so they weren't very good and clumped together. Hot sauce is more of a buffalo sauce but the you g lady manning the cashier was well mannered and patient as I asked questions and made my selection. I had been hearing about Sharks for years but never got a chance to actually eat there, but all of that changed a couple of days ago. I stopped by this particular Sharks location around 8:00 pm one night and let me just start off by saying.. I'm new to Columbus and I don't really know the area that well... But it damn sure looked like the hood to me... The area is sketchy as hell and as soon as I got out the car about 4 people ran up to me asking for change... But hey you know what they say. The best food spots are smack dap in the hood. Anywho, As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the smell of delicious fried chicken and it brought a smile to my face! The dining area isn't the cleanest but I didn't care, I was taking my food to go. The girls at the register were so cool and down to earth. They truly made everyone feel like family. By the time they got done cooking my food I didn't even wanna leave. I wanted to stay there and eat my food but It was so damn dirty in there I couldn't do it. lol Once I got home and bit a piece of my chicken I wanted to drive back up there and PERSONALLY thank them for putting it down like that in the kitchen. I was riding with my hungry friends looking for food because the party we were at only had finger foods. We saw this spot looking for a place to eat... we pulled in. We walked in, and was greeted by the young lady behind the counter. She had a great smile and a friendly attitude. ..she pointed out the specials and answered questions. We ordered. I got 1 pc whiting with fries for 5.49 and 4 wings fries and green beans for 4.99 for my boyfriend. We then went to the gas station next door. We came back and our food was ready. And just like the old days, the young girl at the register could use a little customer service training and less attitude. Prices are reasonable but service is not quick. This is a made to order sort of place, so be prepared to wait if you have several people in your party (again, just like in high school). We had the fried shrimp, wings (regular & BBQ), catfish, chicken nuggets and french fries. In my world of ratings, a 3 means I would likely come back IF I'm in the area and a 4 indicates I would make a special trip to eat there again. I would more accurately rate them a 3.5 if Yelp allowed for 1/2 stars. Well Shark's on veterans parkway is like going to a back yard fish fry every day, hey sell Chicago style fish and chicken. I personally love their fried grouper, and they have a great selection of fish not just catfish and tilapia like a lot of places. Everything is cooked to order "hot out the grease". They also sell fried chicken gizzards and livers, and I get one order of the chicken gizzards every time I go there no matter what else I order.
