Thinking of hiring Shark Coatings? Don't! Back story...We asked a sales rep from Shark Coatings to come out and look at our slab. Our slab had extensive cracking, and we wanted an honest assessment of whether Shark Coatings would be a viable option, or if we should just rip out the concrete slab. We were given a speech about their curing compound and how it cures harder than concrete. We wouldn't know the cracks were ever there! We were advised of the possibility of settlement cracks from typical concrete settlement, but since the slab had been there for 8 years that wasn't a big concern. The curing compound that was used to fill the cracks pushed up out of the slab within weeks, and took the coatings with it. *Video available* If you have concerns, do not expect honesty from Shark Coatings. They come to sell their product, that's it. When I told them I was going to post our story to social media, they offered to fix the cracks if we paid them an additional $15,000. We don't want this to happen to anyone else. If you're looking into Shark Coatings then you're most likely aware that it's expensive. I can't recommend them to anyone expecting honest, good work. Horrible! Had it installed in my garage and back patio in April 2026. The garage turned out perfect, however the back patio is uneven and collects water in the corner when it rains. We've been trying since April to have someone come look at it to fix it. We've emailed , called and put in a request on their website with NO response. They are quick to sell and overstay their welcome when they come out to give an estimate but won't contact you back for a problem. I have been preashur washing and painting my garage floor yearly at a cost of $400/yr and 3-4 days of my time. Over 25 years that is a lot of maintenance. The HOT tires in the summer of my sports cars would peel the paint up so I had to put carpets down for my cars to park on. My neighbors had their 3 car garage done by Shark coating when they built the house and it looked great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked for a quote online and Joe came out the next day to measure the job. He even sent an email the day before with his picture identification so I knew who to expect the next day[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He told me about the product, Warenty, color options and texture options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When researching the different options I came up with the prices ranges for: DIY epoxy $1/sqft vs , pro epoxy $5/sqft vs Polyaspartic $8-$12/sqft per the internet. They were on the low end of the range at $8/sqft. Their guarantee/warrantee is 15yr and includes labor as well as product. Some companies only cover the product so they don't care if they come out yearly to fix problems. They have a minimum of $2500/job so if job is over $5k you can split it into two separate jobs if needed but best to just do it in one day. They have two textures: (Shark skin) to make it non slip like a pool deck vs driveway or smooth. Plenty of colors options well to choose. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I decided to do it all in one day and they have a deal with a mini storage group that will deliver a container for you to use for your garage stuff for a week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The deal is: 8x8x20 $95 weekly vs $229 monthly 8x8x16 $85 weekly vs $175 monthly Plus Transportation: $60 each way Prep before they show up: 1) Have all belongings removed from the floor being installed as well as anything hanging lower than 2 feet on the walls 2) Ensure sprinklers are off during the duration to ensure the floor is dry ( cannot coat wet concrete) 3) Driveway is clear for crew to back in work trailer 4) Dry times start after final top coat has been installed: 8 hours to walk on and 24 hours for full cure time 5) Crew normally arrives between 8-10AM driving from Jacksonville. When you are ready put half down online with your bank routing numbers or via your credit card but add 3% additional fee. I sent a physical check from my bank to their main office in Jacksonville. Not a good product for pool decks. The top coating seems to be evaporating! There's bubbling up in one or more areas!! Horrible workmanship. I guess they think that people are supposed to walk on rough flakes? They came back to do it over again, and made a mess around the bottom edge of the screen enclosure. If I wrote this post within a month of getting our back porch Shark Coated in July '21, it would be a five star review. However, within a short period we had to have the rep come out because it was too slippery. They even said it was not done right. They had to refinish it. Now, over the last six months we have been trying to get to get someone to come out to address the fading and cracks. We had a technician come out in October '23, and he said they would fix it. In the last month we have tried to get some resolve. We are still waiting... The commercials make this product out to be a great option and very sturdy. BEWARE!!! They said its a lifetime warranty! The previous owners had our pool deck done just before we bought the house. Ours is all coming up. We noticed it coming up a few months after we moved in. The guaranteed warranty was by far the main impetus for choosing to spend $11,000 to have shark coating installed. The company performs a moisture test of your concrete driveway which supposedly predicts success. Mine was positive so I felt even better about moving forward. However, we had a horrific rainstorm prior to the day of Installation, and I voiced concern and requested rescheduling. They assured me it was fine and went ahead with the installation. It's been six months since installation. The company came out three times to repair cracks. One significant crack has developed in the same area and the company now states they are not responsible. They did offer to seal it at a cost to me. it's pertinent to know the reasons they gave for the three separate visits for coming out to repair previous cracks. One, that the concrete was too wet to set. Two, the previous crew were inexperienced. And three, the coverage was too thin. I live in Welaka, Fl and the company also installed the shark coating on a building in our town. it also has cracks in it. Unfortunately, they have received a similar response, that Shark Coating is not responsible for the crack. A warranty can be worded to avoid liability as in this case. Writing a review will not remedy my problem. But perhaps it will help others avoid my situation. And choose other alternatives to improve the look of their driveways. read more

We had our driveway and sidewalks coated on 11/21/2025. Our installers were great. We noticed multiple areas, after 24 hour wait period where it appears the top clear coat did not adhere. We have a warranty. The post installation service is horrible. We are being asked to believe the noted areas are a result of rain and/or dew drying. We were told to clean the areas. This belies common sense given the driveway is sloped and the sidewalks do not have any of these areas of concern. We spent $8400 to enhance the curb appeal and help with the overall maintenance. Not ONCE were we told wash, rinse, and repeat was required after rain and dew. read more
