I came here with my wife last week. We ordered 3 drinks. Only one of the three drinks tasted good. One of the drinks I ordered was mango green milk tea with zero sweet (I order this every week and it tastes amazing). This time, all I tasted was milk. No tea or mango taste. The drink my wife ordered was mango green tea with 80% sweet, which is also what she orders every week. This time, she said it wasn't sweet at all and just tasted like mango water. I told one of the workers that my drink didn't taste like mango at all. She went on to say the mango I still the bottom. I then told her I know but there is no mango taste at all and asked if she wanted to try it. She said no, turned around, and proceeded to tell me walk away. Then my wife asked in a loud voice if she could make it again. She made it again, but this time there was only a small hint of mango taste in it, which didn't taste anything like the drink I order every week. Because of the way responded to one drink, my wife didn't want to ask for her drink to be remade as well. Usually when a drink isn't made right, the staff would offer to remake the drink with no issues. This is the first time I've experienced this type of service. read more

Welcome back, Sharetea!!! How I have missed you. One of the best boba spots in the bay. When they first come to the bay with their flagship on 3rd so many years ago I fell in love with their creama drinks. This is the 3rd location I've tried in the Bay Area (Alameda was first, followed by the one in Santa Clara by SCU). I wasn't impressed. I ordered my usual - a mango slush with ice cream and boba. The slush wasn't blended fully - ice chunks were dominant. And unlike the other locations, they only put the ice cream on top, not down on the bottom with boba. Kinda defeated the purpose for me. It's pretty similar to the previous 2 locations they had in downtown San Mateo, as well as other locations around the Bay Area. I still like the Hokkaido and Okinawa Pearl Milk Teas. The new space is pretty nice. It's a little smaller than what they had on 2nd, but there a quite a few tables. It's really close to the San Mateo Cinemark 12 theater, so you can pop in after a movie. read more

Finally Sharetea is back in San Mateo! I went in two days before the grand opening last week and ordered Wintermelon green tea creme with milk and red bean, half sweetened. There was a miscommunication from both parties. I received one without the fresh milk and they quickly corrected my drink without questioning. After my drink came out they asked if I wanted the original drink that was made because it'll be a waste if I didn't take it. I went back on grand opening day, Saturday to find it to be 'buy one get one' This time I got the macha green tea with milk and red bean. The drink was great! I personally always get my drinks half sweetened but that's just preference. All in all, I respect businesses that honor their customer services and to stay consistent. read more

5 stars for the self-order kiosk located to the left of the cashier!!! Hokkaido and Okinawa are my personal faves. Minus 1 star for having only one size available for their drinks. ....Added the other star back because the self-order kiosk blew me away. Usually I like sharetea, but this time was just overall pretty bad in terms of service and drink. I had a five-star reward to use and after paying I noticed on the receipt that the cashier didn't add it. So I asked about it and she says I have to tell her cause there are too many rewards that show up from five-star... But I only had 1 to use. I'm sure she saw it and didn't bother asking if I wanted to use it. Normally I wouldn't care but this reward was expiring so I wanted to use it and I told her that. Thebln I asked if there's a way to void the transaction and redo it. She keeps saying "no, next time you have to tell me to use it" and doesn't offer any other resolution. Aside from the service, the drink I got tasted a bit off. I got the matcha green tea creama and my friend got the mango green tea creama. I felt like there was definitely something off about the drink but I couldn't pin point what it was. Might have been the milk? My friend's drink was perfectly fine. I wasn't in the mood to deal with the people again so I just left. Disappointing experience this time. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

Ordered thru yelp and order was ready by the time I arrived. Sidenote: you cannot enter the store its blocked for precautions, so you have to kinda yell your order. And yes, I have done that before when ordering in person. Otherwise drinks pretty standard. I usually get happy family qq, its milk tea with toppings in it already. Its good! read more

Havent had boba or sharetea in a while and noticed this location after eating in the area. Like most shareteas I've gone to in the past, it was pretty busy. Staff were friendly and wait time for drinks was roughly 10mins which is expected for how busy they were. I got the Hokkaido and my friend got the Okinawa. Tasted like how I remembered it, which is great. Boba had the right chewiness and the drink was sweet but not too sweet Will definitely come back if in the area again. read more

Liked it here until they took the main thing i liked off the menu. (Pearl milk ice blended) they still have the stuff to make it but refuse. I dont understand the reasoning of them not making it. Very disappointing because i loved that old menu item. read more

I loveeeeeee Sharetea! But I guess not this location.. me and my boyfriend usually go to the one in hilsdale mall, and I know why now. For starters, parking isn't that great, it's busy here anytime of the day. Not really great when you have a little one with you. And two, we ordered the matcha crema and it came out tasting like coffee and popcorn butter!!! They really need to clean their filter or whatever it is they use to make their drinks. They were working as if there was a long as line of drinks that needed to be made. We'll keep going to the one in hilsdale. read more

I have tried many milk tea places in my life and I think Sharetea has the best selection of fruity tea drinks. I prefer drinks without milk and my favorite is the Mango Green Tea. I love that I can choose the sweetness level to make it just right to my preference. I don't even need to add boba or other toppings to my favorite drink because the Mango Greent Tea comes with bits of mango pieces. I also love this location because it is so close to all the restaurants that I love: DASH JAPANESE TAPAS, BONCHON, and IZAKAYA MAI. I always have a craving for tea after a good meal and Sharetea is my go-to, always in downtown San Mateo. Always recommend this place to my friends! read more

I ordered passion fruit green tea with boba and they gave me a mango passion fruit green tea and mango fav. Was more than covered the passion fruit taste !!! This is a good boba spot in downtown San Mateo. It's not my favorite, but it satisfys my boba tea cravings. Tea is good, with a good variation. The boba is not the best I've had, but is still not bad. They do give you a lot for the price you pay, so thats nice. Their new downtown location is very convenient, and the inside has lots of tables and space. I typically order a green milk tea with soy milk and boba, which is very good. read more

This place was conveniently located right by the theater so we decided to stop by before a movie. The menu had good variety and offered some hot drinks. They have a self serve kiosk which is cool. I couldn't decide between the mango green tea or the Matcha milk and the lady cashier recommended the mango green tea out of the two choices. She also recommended the Okinawa milk tea for my husband. They could not adjust the sweetness level for my husband's drink but I was able to get 30% sweetness for mine, but I still found it too sweet and had a not too pleasant fake taste. But I did feel like there were a feel mango strands at the bottom so I'm not sure if it actually had some fresh mangos or not. Overall, I would not recommend this place. But if I happen to be around and want a drink, I might consider trying the fresh milk drinks. read more

I got a boba fresh milk and my boyfriend got a tiger milk tea from a promotional event. They ran out of boba for both drinks, so they allowed me to substitute for pudding. I thought that was pretty nice of them, but I think it's a little disappointing for a boba place to run out of boba. Also, the tiger milk tea was really small in comparison to a regular drink, so my boyfriend felt pretty bad. Maybe it was more clear elsewhere, but I think they should stress the size difference. While I like the ability to order electronically, overall I feel like this Sharetea isn't as good as the ones I'm used to. read more

We were introduced to Sharetea in the east coast in Fairfax, VA. I was surprised that it tasted very similar even with the amount of sugar and ice levels we requested. It goes to show that their preparation of the tea is very similar across the board. Sharetea is one of our favorite places to get Boba. I would highly recommended it compared to the other boba places in the area other than Boba Guys. We got the original milk tea without boba and the matcha red bean. I like how the tea is flavorful with actual tea taste vs being watered down with powder. The matcha red bean is one of the best I had compared to other places because it is the only one I had that doesn't taste gritty. read more

So glad to have Sharetea back! Decided to try something new this time around and I was not disappointed. Went for the chocolate lover's crema and it was indeed very chocolatety. However, I made the incorrect assumption that the white pearls were agar pearls as some other bubble tea places call them white boba also. The white pearls here are literally white/clear versions of the traditional black boba (taste & texture wise. I'm not sure if there is any difference ingredient wise). Also, the chocolate drink itself is kinda thick so to top it off with crema was a but much for me. I may get this next time without the crema. Again, glad to have Sharetea back and I'll be back for my usual drinks very soon! read more

Quality of product is fine (same as other sharetea's I've been to). Two stars is for the service: not terribly cheerful, but perhaps that's because they couldn't keep up with the orders. It wasn't nearly a busy as other boba places I've been to, but the service was INCREDIBLY slow. I was amazed at how long it took for us to get our order. Given how other customers before us were looking, everyone was surprised. We love the one in Palo Alto - great service, fairly speedy, and fresh boba all the time. The cashier was SOOOO RUDE. We will nvr ever come to this location EVER AGAIN! My husband and I always order black milk tea with creama on top. We understand we have extra for the crema. Never again! Poor customer service. Specially the girl with purple hair. She roll her eyes to customers when ask questions. The napkin dispenser was empty, politely ask for napkins and rudely she pointed to the empty dispenser. Drinks are ok, would be better if the people working there were polite and friendly. read more

We were very glad for the return of Sharetea after their closure on 4th and prior to that their closure on 2nd. Hopefully they've found their "forever" home :). They are the only boba place around that serves mini bobas so we come here when we have that mini boba craving. Their grass/herb jelly is also far superior to any of the other boba shops. Folks still don't take advantage of the touch screen ordering that's available. We've been able to get around the lines on a number of occasions by walking straight up to the touch screen to input our order. It is awkwardly placed though, being placed immediately to the left of the cash register. I would suggest that they place touch screens throughout their space which would increase their throughput and shorten their lines. read more

Overall good choices. Sometimes the wait time is wayy too long. Staff is friendly. They even let me have an alternative free drink when I didn't like the one they made.
