I usually go around twice a month but their computer system was not obvious and I didn't get points for my order and it was too late they said after I already ordered. So out of principle, I won't be coming back. I prefer the taste of ShareTea over Meet Fresh but Meet Fresh is just around the corner so going there from now on. read more

I fondly remember going to Sharetea with my friends after every exam during my college years. The Berkeley Sharetea was seemingly always busy, with a line out the door regardless of the time of day. Sharetea in downtown San Mateo has never been quite as busy, and it has changed locations multiple times within the past few years. Hopefully this new location next to the movie theater works out for them because their drinks really are top notch. I came on a Saturday night around 9pm, and it was pretty quiet. They have a good selection of drinks, from fruit teas to milk teas to blended smoothies. I went with my go-to drink: mango & passion fruit green tea ($4.50), 30% sweet, with pearls (+$0.50). This drink was as good as I remember. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy, with a nice sweetness to them. The mango and passion fruit flavor really came through, and there were passion fruit seeds and mango pulp in the drink. My drink was sweeter than other places' 30%, but that's because they use real fruit and fruit juice. Quality and taste-wise, there aren't many places that can compete with Sharetea. However, Sharetea's prices are $1-2 more expensive than most other boba places in Burlingame and San Mateo. Paying $5-$6 for a drink is a bit of a splurge in my opinion. I'm giving 5 stars still because they honored my Fivestars offer of buy one, get one free drink. I got a handmade taro with fresh milk for my mom, and at $6 for 2 drinks, it couldn't have been a better deal! I will definitely come back if they have some more Yelp/Fivestars check-in offers or special deals from time to time. read more

I love Sharetea! I usually get the wintermelon creama but decided to try the kiwi fruit tea with aiyu jelly, it was delicious. The only thing that made me not give a full 5 stars was the service was a bit slow even though there were only 1 person ordered ahead of us. They were making orders for Ubereats and Dasher pickups and didn't really seem to prioritize people who were waiting there. A little disappointed. read more

The manager took this seriously and totally changed my experience for the next time. I got fresh bobas and the bobas are actually very good. I ordered Mango Creamer with Boba (Pearl) with 50% of sweetness and I found it very good. Then, I came back with Matcha Red Bean Iced Blend with Boba and it was awesome. I either go with Mango or Matcha and I don't get wrong. Note: My last visit was an incident that the owner does not want it to happen again in the future. Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. Not crowded. The girl behind the counter taking orders was friendly and helpful. Our drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Oreo Ice Blended with Pearl: tasty, kind of coconutty flavored. Good thing I asked about sweetness. She it was pretty sweet so we got half sweetness. I can't imagine what 100% sweetness would've been, as the half was pretty sugary. Thai Iced Tea with Boba-decent, nothing special Classic Black Milk Tea with Boba-I've had better and it tasted more like iced coffee than tea, which was disappointing since I don't like coffee The main reason for the 2 star rating is because of the boba balls. All 3 of the drinks ordered had clumps of boba balls stuck together that kept getting stuck in the straw and made it difficult to impossible to drink. This didn't just happen once in each drink. It happened multiple times. Why are the boba balls all stuck together in my drink?! I've never had a boba tea where the balls are stuck together in a big blob and clog up the straw! So unless you like your boba drinks with large clumps of balls stuck together where you can't even drink the drink, I suggest skipping this place. read more

Share tea is one of my favorite tea spots! I have a few and just depends what city I am in. There are a lot of good boba spots in San Mateo and Sharetea is definitely one of them! I love all the different flavors they have and some how their teas are just really flavorful. I used to get 100% sweetness just because I like everything pretty sweet but I have been trying to knock that % down just to see how everything is. I don't know that I will ever be able to get to 0% sweetness but..we'll see. I like the new location, just sucked that it took so long to open. Been waiting quite a long time since I saw the sign up that they were moving there and had closed the other location just down the way and traded with dash. I was definitely excited for Sharetea to come back to San Mateo. They to the alleyway of the theater. To be honest, it's not a great location. I miss when it was on 3rd street and San Mateo. The 4 star is for the Sharetea brand in San Mateo. Their drinks are excellent. Ice Cream Black Tea is one of the best drinks. This Sharetea put the calories on their menu. I always knew boba is a high calories thing. Now that I confirm it, I don't know if it's a good thing or now. There are drinks on there that are 1300 calories! How much do you have to work out to work that off! The service in this store really is slow. They have a kiosk that you can self-order. However, there was one time I used it. I waited 15 minutes for my drink. I finally check with the register, and they said that my order was not processed and they never made my drinks. It can be frustrating. Been here at least 4 times and although the drinks here are always pretty decent the cashiers are always slow for some reason, and it often takes a few tries before they fully understand my order, not really why that's the case, I get the same thing to every sharetea I go to and I never have problems anywhere else. This one star is not for the quality of my drink, but for the customer service. I have been a loyal fan of Sharetea ever since it first opened up in San Mateo, but ever since they moved to the location next to the movie theater, service has gone down hill. Today at around 2PM I stopped by Sharetea and there was only one employee. However, instead of standing behind the register, she was sitting at one of the tables talking to some guy, probably her boyfriend. I totally get it, you don't want to work. I wasn't even going to say anything or get mad. However, it's the attitude that she had that was very off-putting. She looked annoyed at me, the CUSTOMER, for making her get up and take my order. On top of that, as she proceeded to take my order she was being so passive aggressive, banging everything. At the old Sharetea when the employee gave me the drink, the person usually said thank you to me, but instead I was the one to thank her for the drink despite her angry facial expression. But hey my matcha green tea creama was still on point. I just think it's a pity that the customer service sucked. read more

I have been using my husbands DoorDash account to order from ShareTea while we are sheltering in place however employees here need to read the full order. Two times already we ordered boba in our drinks and our drinks had boba missing. I understand if I was in the store and you misheard me or didn't hear due to people being in the store but when we order on DoorDash, the orders are clearly shown IN WRITING. The fact that it has happened twice, the owners should train their employees to read the orders correctly and double check prior to it being picked up. I love ShareTea but disappointed in their quality control of their employees not preparing orders correctly. read more

My favorite drink from Sharetea is the Mango Green Tea Crema. It is hands down the best drink out of all the milk tea places I have been too. My other favorite from Sharetea is Oolong Milk Tea. I specifically like this location because it is right across from the movie theater. I love going here to grab a drink right after a movie. There are plenty of seats to sit down with your friends and talk about the movie that you just watched. I love this Sharetea and plan to bring my friends here! read more

Very busy boba tea cafe across from Century theater. There were only two tea baristas so self ordering kiosk had to be done with card only; though I hoped to pay cash. At least the kiosk, allowed us to select percentage of ice, sweetness, and how much boba. We ordered the recommended non caffeinated wintermelon tea (30% ice & sweetness) with no boba, and the caffeinated kiwi fruit tea plus aiya (100% sweet, 30% ice). Both had really good flavors but likely less sweetness the better instead of 100%. read more

I've tried many, many boba shops in the DT area, Burlingame, and Foster City. This is by far my favorite - they have a great variety of drinks that my entire family of 7 can choose from. Their creama NEVER disappoints. Their tea is fragrant and not too strong (huge plus - I don't like feeling jittery). The boba is always on point (awesome texture/chewiness and sweet) and their grass jelly isn't from a can. The only thing that sucks is how late they open (I have a caffeine sensitivity so if I have it too late, I'm awake till 3am). Glad they have this location open nonetheless! read more

I love sharetea, their tea is the most affordable and probably the best quality in this area for its price. I often come to sharetea to either do some homework or meet up with friends and have a friendly chat; however, today I went to do homework with a friend and the music they played was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking, even though we were barely a foot away from each other. Furthermore, I could hear the workers shouting at each other in the back in order to hear each other through the music. After complaining, quite loudly to my friend, the workers turned the volume of the music down, but it was still really loud and I still needed to shout in order for my friend to hear me. read more

I appreciate how they are streamlining the purchasing experience, however they still need to hire more people to make the drinks and deliver them in a timely manner. We ordered at 4:33 and waited until 4:51 to get our drinks. It was of course tasty, but I don't ever want to wait this long again. Additionally, they only offer single use plastic straws and don't provide an alternative such as cutting a whole for you. They have knives, but those are also just single use so I might as well just use a straw. read more

So happy to have Sharetea back in San Mateo, yet again! I believe this is their 3rd location downtown and hopefully they'll be staying put for a while. The entrance is a bit hidden as it does not face the street, but it's conveniently located across from the Century Theater entrance and there's a parking structure just across the street. The creama drinks are my go-to here. They're creamy and refreshing and a nice alternative for dessert! The chocolate creama is the best flavor but I also really enjoy the matcha with fresh milk. Their milk teas are also good but I got the ginger milk tea and would skip it next time. The flavor was faint and not what I expected. Not my favorite, but solid boba place that will satisfy my cravings when I just need to get my boba fix. Spacious location with many tables. Plus it's right next to the movies. So it's convenient for me to grab a drink before showtime. I found drinks here to be overly sweet and not the best flavor. I prefer a stronger tea profile whereas the creamer in their drinks overpower that. I do like that they have a good variety of drinks. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but Sharetea is a good second option imo. read more

My wife loves her milk tea so she needed a little fix after lunch one day. They've got a pretty prime spot next to the theater, thankfully it was still early in the day so it wasn't too busy. You can even order with an automated touch screen next to the cash register (freeing up an employee to make drinks?) but the wait is just like most other milk tea places- not that fast. Love the Happy QQ Tea, which is milk tea with pudding, coffee jelly (?), red bean, boba, lychee jelly. Just tasty goodness with interesting textures! ESP love the pudding which has a caramelly/burnt sugar taste that really enhances the tea flavor. read more
