    Mint chip, wrong color
    Michelle P.

I love Earthbar in the city but this location is not it... unfortunately management doesn't seem to schedule breaks or enough stuff for their employees to take breaks. I came at 12:30, 30 minutes before they're scheduled to close. The sole person working is wearing AirPods and mumbles so really confused if she's talking to me. Eventually she says she's going on lunch. I'm then confused because their hours say open til 1.. no one is there to break her? She then agrees to make one last smoothie for me which I appreciate and tip for. I ordered a mint chip and it is terrible. No chocolate chips in sight. I like mint but this just tastes like straight toothpaste. And the color is off so obviously missing something. Unfortunate experience.

This earthbar at 4th and El Camino Real, San Mateo is around the corner from where I work. I've tried all their smoothies for lunch. As good as the food is, it's the people working here who keep me coming back.

Drive 15 minutes to get here and they are closed. No one is answering. Disappointing for 8:30 am and no smoothies for breakfast :(

Poor service at front desk of Equinox. They won't let you use the bathroom unless you are a member.

Inside is a modestly lit atmosphere which works well for what they are trying to achieve. The service was nice and friendly . The food here is great, mixed with some cultural favorites as well. I want to be clear that this is not a reflection of the staff. They were polite and were simply following the rules set by management. My disappointment is with the policy itself. I'm currently pregnant, and because of my nausea, there are only a few specific drinks I can tolerate. This particular drink has been one of the few things that actually helps, so receiving the wrong order wasn't just a minor inconvenience. I simply wanted the drink I had ordered and paid for. After posting my review, I received a response saying that if I had mentioned my pregnancy and that I couldn't tolerate another drink, they would have replaced it. While I appreciate the response, I don't believe customers should have to explain personal circumstances to have an incorrect order corrected. Whether someone is pregnant, has dietary restrictions, allergies, or no special circumstances at all, if a business makes a mistake and prepares the wrong order, it should simply be replaced. I've been to many other drink shops, and even when a customer simply doesn't like a drink, they're often happy to remake it. In this case, the mistake wasn't mine, yet I was expected to pay again. That level of customer service was surprising and very disappointing. I hope management reconsiders this policy, because every customer deserves to receive the correct order without having to justify why it matters.

I've driven by this place a hundred times and there's almost always a line of 20-30 people outside…read more This morning I decided to wait in that line. Super funny that the couple behind me commented that they go here all the time and there's never a line. After about a 40 minute wait, I got to the cashier at around 10:20am. Half the pastries like the ube brioche were already out so I opted for just the lattes. I played it safe and got the Tahitian vanilla latte. I will say that it's good quality coffee. Didn't need to add sugar. It didn't come super hot though so as I took it away, I downed it pretty fast! I got my mom and aunt the ice latte version of the black sesame and the brown sugar. Sounds like both were good as well. The black sesame wasn't sweet, which was to my aunt's liking. Inside, it's very clean and not crowded. What helped is that there is a sign that tells the people in line that only 6 people at a time should line up inside. If I have the time, I'd line back up. 4.5/5 stars, but I'll round up.

Okinawan brown sugar latte was a tiny bit sweet for me, but I'm a purist who's not a fan of over-flavored lattes that mask the coffee. All considered, this was still very good. Egg toast was satisfying. It is enhanced with the crunchy chile oil - which adds more flavor than does spice for those who are spice wimps like me. This is a nit, but I prefer milk bread with soft crust. The milk bread served with the toast has a harder crust. The space is brightly lit, yet comfortable environment. Some 2-person tables along the wall and bar seating. Better for singles or pairs than groups.

I got an iced HK style coffee + milk tea which I've never had before but was so delicious. I'd definitely come back to try the other fruity drinks too! we ordered the tom yum noodles, preserved vegetables & pork noodle soup, salt & pepper fries, and the HK style french toast with peanut butter. the french toast was our favorite- it was fluffy and chewy and was just like the HK classic. the noodle dishes were both so hearty and flavorful too, and the portions were a good size. it did take a bit long for everything to come out, but it did seem like there was only one person working and she was very kind and accommodating when we had questions about our order. we didn't mind at all, especially sitting outside and enjoying the view! overall, I'll for sure be back for the drinks and to try some other HK style street food.

Or, maybe Kazka can upgrade from the camping utensils and serving plates for a slightly more elegant experience...it didn't quite fit in, yknow? First up Hong Kong French toast. It was delivered deep fried as expected, but it was really oily so maybe the oil wasn't quite hot enough? They also forgot the condensed milk but did run it over later. We also didn't get it stuffed so maybe it also would have been better if we did? I've had better variations. Next up, the bbq pork plate. This was actually pretty good! Their homemade cha siu was tender and tasty! Egg on rice is also a classic staple here but I also felt like it was missing just a bit of something, maybe more juice from the pork? Idk, I really like when the fattiness of the HK deli meats coats the rice. Lastly, fries. Pretty standard but piping hot and fresh! I could appreciate it. The yuzu thinned out the mayo considerably but the flavor was really good still. I think I'd return. There were some combos that were already sold out when we came so we should probably give it another go.
