I've been coming to MOD on and off for 3yrs now and it's by far: the best Barre I've studio I've…read morebeen to! And I've been to many, all over the US! It's my happy place when in Austin. THE STUDIO: The Burnet location is cute and chic. It provides parking in the back and there's ample free street parking. It has 2 bathrooms, no showers! But the BEST part is they provide Child Care while you Barre! The kid's room is upstairs, and it's super cute! The care takers are so sweet and loving towards the little ones. I've only used the service myself only a few times but all the kids are easily entertained by the toys and books. Most importantly, the studio is CLEAN! It never has that wet/musty smell many other studios cling too. I dislike that they have (mostly) stopped using the mats and now we workout on the floor. While it's cushioned and sanitized, I still prefer the mats. Now, the mats are provided with the membership. It's simply grabbing one, but sometimes classes tend to fill up and the mats make it feel like we're taking more space. THE CLASSES: Wow!! Each instructor is so different and so amazing and so challenging in their own way! No 2 classes are alike! Seen way too many studios do this! Because no class is "repeated", you workout your entire body but in different ways! This way not only do you not get bored of the same classes over and over, but your muscles/body doesn't plateau. They will always introduce themselves to new comers to insure they know of injuries or work with you on modifications or postures. The instructors have their own routines and can and will customize it for you. They always offer modifications and alternative poses/positions. They never call you out for modifying, and in fact celebrate that you listen to your body! (I personally hate the boot camp type of instructors! - If I need to stop and stretch for 5min, I will! And I don't need anyone tell me to get back into the position/routine.) Instructors here are very talented and want to get to know you, they want to be sure you succeed, grow and find not only your healthier body, but healthier YOU. I know that's cheesy, but this is the only place I've found all the instructors actually care about proper posture, proper form, wether it's modified or not. There is a wide variety of members. Many pregnant or with injuries and they have found themselves here. I only wish I didn't travel so much so I could do more classes here.

Mod Fitness opened a gorgeous second location located just off Burnet Road. The studio is inside an…read moreadorable converted house with a similar feel of the south Lamar location but is more spacious. They also have a boutique selling nice workout clothing, grip socks and fancy water bottles. I did the hour long barre class yesterday and it was an excellent workout. Hollie instructed the fast paced class with grace and before I knew it the hour was over. They also offer other classes like Mod Burn which incorporates high intensity training and Barre 50 (shorter class). There are new client specials and I purchased an Austin Tidbits deal of 3 weeks for $49. If you like barre you will love Mod Fitness.

I took the Yoga for Stress Release with Amber last week and I was blown away with two simple moves she taught in the class that helped my sinuses and tension headaches I never knew you could do in all the years of my movement practices! Amber was so sweet and I loved connecting to everyone in the class before we started with quick name introductions and check-ins. Definitely need in person classes in my life again on the regular! They also offer massage, acupuncture, and yoga therapy sessions. I love that the space is welcoming of all LBGQIA+ individuals and the teachers are trained in trauma informed practices and knowledge. A gem of a studio to have in north central Austin. Oh, and if you want to do some local holiday shopping, they have a ton of local artist, jewelry makers, apothecary, candle makers, and self care items for sale in the front waiting area.

The free intro class was super helpful--Girlie walked me through all four class types and gives extra attention to newcomers. Classes break down like this: 'Align' feels more yoga-based, 'Define' leans into weights, and 'Classic' mixes both. After about 10 classes, I definitely feel stronger and more toned, even going twice a week. Plus, the schedule is flexible. When I was out sick for 2 weeks , Jazmine checked in on me and even added a class credit without me asking. As someone new, it really boosted my confidence and made me feel like they genuinely care about their members. Only downside: the Classic class is so popular that (IMO) it can get a bit packed.

Spoiler alert: it absolutely humbled me--in the best way possible. The workout was fire--low-impact but insanely effective. My muscles were shaking (hello, burn!) and I was smiling the whole time. The energy in the studio is electric. Great music, great vibes, and the instructors? Absolute gems. They're uplifting, knowledgeable, and made sure I felt supported while still pushing me to dig deeper. And the staff & owner? So friendly, so welcoming. From the second I walked in, I felt like I belonged there. No awkward first-timer vibes, just good energy and a seriously good sweat. Can't wait to go back. If you're an athlete looking to switch it up or just want a killer workout that surprises you in all the right ways--go check it out. You won't regret it!

It's been almost a good couple of years since I took a pure barre class, tucked, toned and burned…read moremy muscles and remembering the fatigue and kick butt workout, said never again. But now that I've become a mom, and have a mom body, decided I'd try all the Pilates, core, barre you name it workouts in the vicinity of my bubble, and what better way than a quick walk from my office on the days I go into the office. I'm actually a lifetime member so I frequent my gym up north for the fantabulous child care, but pure barre was something I tried recently again with sweetgreens opening and sponsoring a workout class. I've found I absolutely love Pure Barre Define and Empower, these 2 have the core basis of the classic routine, but incorporate more weights and cardio than my prior core workouts of Classic. I am overdue for a classic trial, and taking classes with Rachel (owner) and Margaret have been absolutely lovely and fantastic, uplifting and such a highlight of my day, getting such a good workout in, and leaving just to do it all over again next week. I purchased a pack of credits and appreciate how I can get my classes, which this location can book up pretty quick if you don't book in advance, but the community is solid, and I love the classes are non judgemental, you go at your own pace, and the instructors have hands on adjustments to help you improve, and genuinely keep you here for yourself! I don't feel like I can go anywhere else and not leave high on endorphins and dying from a killer workout lol :) Finally - the fact that the music is everything I enjoy, well it 1000% makes my hour that much more enjoyable and fun. Their playlist is a bop as the kids say these days!

Wonderful workout and incredible staff. The studio is clean and everyone is so friendly. I love it!read more

The Domain studio is a great location, beautiful studio and Katie A. (despite her adorable demeanor) was b-r-u-t-a-l! I've since learned that this Pure Pilates prides itself on super educating, training each instructor to the highest of standards and it shows!! Highly recommend. We will be back! I'm 41, perimenopause is kicking my *ss and I knew I needed to try something different to get my health sorted. Pilates has been perfect- Everything is tightening up, I've got muscles I didn't have before and it's relaxing (for exercise, lol). I love this studio, all of the instructors are great and the facilities are clean. Would absolutely recommend it to everyone I know! The only tricky part was figuring out the whole app/waitlist/booking situation when I first started. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get in as many days a week as I wanted to since everything in the upcoming week was booked up. But since I've got the unlimited plan, I've figured out my system to booking that allows me to have up to 15 classes booked ahead of time and I have no problem getting in 4-5 classes a week at this location.

I'm extremely disappointed with this Pilates studio, especially their membership policies,…read morecancelation restrictions, and lack of access to classes. I signed up for a 3-month membership, only to later find out they require a 30-day cancellation notice. That feels excessive and unreasonable for a fitness studio. When I questioned it, staff compared it to renting an apartment, which honestly makes no sense--this is a Pilates membership, not a lease. There's nothing about this service that justifies that kind of commitment or restriction. Even worse, I can barely get into classes at all. Most sessions are full or unavailable, which defeats the entire purpose of paying for a membership. What am I paying for if I can't actually attend classes? On top of that, membership support has been unhelpful, and resolving billing concerns has been frustrating. Between the misnomer of the 3-month membership, the rigid cancellation policy, and the lack of access, this experience has not been worth the cost. I am requesting a refund, and I'm leaving this review so others are aware of what they're signing up for. Management seriously needs to rethink their policies and improve customer support. This is likely what to expect with a corporate chain such as Club Pilates. Be warned.
