The reception staff is so patient and helpful, and they were so welcoming when I walked through the door. I had two apppintments with Amanda, once for a free consultation to discuss exactly what I was looking to have done and then the big appointment to cut and color my hair. Amanda was INCREDIBLE! She was so fun and bubbly and personable. The vibes and energy were there from the jump and it ended up being on of if not the best & most fun hair appointments I've ever had. She worked with me to achieve the goal I had for my hair, and was able to pull it off while maintaining the health and integrity of my hair. Not only was the quality of service immaculate, but the cost at the end of the appointment was only a few dollars higher than what she had quoted me at the consultation and still PERFECTLY within my beauty budget! Amanda absolutely gained a new regular and I can't wait to go back for touch-ups.

Apparently mullets are her specialty and instead of enhancing my naturally curly hair she cut a mullet on me so short that my curls couldn't even form. I actually cried. I had to go to my previous stylist so that she could fix it and the only way she could do that was to cut my hair shorter. It went from curly below my shoulders to so short I can't even put a ponytail in. I did email the owner and sent before and after pictures. She refunded my money and offered to personally cut my hair next time I needed a cut. She was the only positive in an extremely upsetting situation.

I spent a good three weeks in Michigan this summer and this is where I got my hair trimmed. They did a nice job and it was cheap enough and I came with one of my friends from Michigan State and she says that all of her friends come here for hair as well which I find hard to believe cuz it was so quiet the day that we were here.

For scheduling, she is flexible and open; in rare instances when she is not immediately available, Anna is fantastic about communicating openings in the next day or so. Very unhappy with Douglas j salon. They have steadily lost their way since the founding father has…read morepassed. Since then, their managerial skills have declined considerably. Unannounced they decided to no longer purchase Aveda color. Their colorists were not advised about this nor did they have an explanation for the colorist to give to the client. What do you do when you sit down for a hair color and the colorist changes the product you love? You have no choice right then and there. I am not happy at all with the results, sure they will offer to fix it. Who wants to spend another 2 hrs at the salon. A phone call to warn me would have avoided my INTENSE dislike with how this was handled. I will find a better salon that treats their customers with respect. It is totally unprofessional to be treated like this without a call to give me an option to change my hair color treatment before I actually came in for my appointment.
