I was getting Manicures and Pedicures with Rachel Applin until she was fired after December of 2024. Then Rachel Applin moved to a new salon called Changes Hair Design Out in Haslett, MI48840. This ids when Rachel took a turn for the worse. She no longer cared on how she was taking care of my nails. My real nails were splitting down the center so she used glue to fix my nails and then applied my new nails with more glue. I got a bad infection in my nails where I was put on a antibiotic to clear the infection. I was to have another appointment May 16, 2025 and received a reminder text From the Salon on May 14 reminding me of my appointment. When I showed up Rachel was not there, so someone got ahold of Rachel and she had told them she left me a text. Later on I received a text from Rachel saying she has decided not to do manicures on me and I would have to find someone else. My nails were really bad and no one was willing to do manicures on me. I saw my Family Doctor and he looked to see how my nails were doing and told me my nails are going to take three to six months to completely heal and stay away from getting any more manicures till my nails were healed. Rachel only stopped doing manicures on me because of the way things happen. I have pictures of what were and still look today. I am totally upset for what she did to me. read more

I have been a client of my stylist, Andrea, since before she came to Changes, and have never been steered wrong. We've textured, layered and colored my hair over the years and it's always come out looking great! There are several other stylists there whose work I've seen so I have no issues seeing someone else if something comes up and Andrea can't make it in (this has only happened when her little one decided to make an early appearance). I ha e been going here for a few years, and when my stylist moved away she recommended to me a couple of other girls. I went ahead and picked one and my girls and myself have been seeing the new girls for about 2 years now. We all have long hair so only go into the salon every 4-6 months. About 4 weeks ago I sent appointments for us for March 24th just before we go away for spring break. There were no issues when I made the appointments and I make them quite early due to wanting them back to back if possible. Tonight at 8:30 I get a call from a gal from the salon asking if I had ever been to see this stylist before. I say yes I have and am told that due to over booking they would like to change my appointments to another lady all together as there is no way to reschedule me with my chosen stylist. They assume this will not be a big deal as stylist doesn't know me anyway. Now I do not expect this stylist to know my name in the least, but think it is complete bs she is overbooked and i should get the bump, not to mention i should get the bump simply because she doesn't know my name? No problem i had them remove me from the schedule and she has lost 3 clients. I'll find somewhere else to go and I'll make sure I tell everyone who asks to avoid this place from now on. read more

I'll agree with the other review that Mary is wonderful. She's always given me a good cut and great color. Besides her talent, her personality really makes you feel comfortable and that she's listening. My boyfriend decided to try her, instead of a barbershop, and told me he felt like he was talking to a long time friend. Prices are very resonable as well. We will definately continue seeing her and one day I will try her Keratin treatments! read more

Pretty standard salon with regard to services offered. What makes this place a standout is the talent. Mary does amazing work. Her cuts are flattering, imaginitive, wonderful texture...really pays attention to what you want and factors in what is realistic given your hair and/or level of upkeep. Her advice about color is always right on, good sense of how your hair will take up the color and will take as long as necessary for you to be happy with the outcome. Joy also does great cuts, lots of texture, listens to what you want or don't want. Karlie does nice work, too. read more

Great salon! Very friendly staff, great service. I particularly recommend Mary for hair styling and Julie for waxing/massage services. They are both intensely friendly and very skilled. Mary fully stands behind her work, so if she recommends something and you don't like it, she fixes it for free - rather awesome of her. Julie is similarly concerned with making sure that you are fully satisfied and does all she can to ensure that you are satisfied. Both are very sociable and pleasant/easy to speak with. It's pretty easy to get an appointment as long as it isn't on a Thursday - apparently Thursdays are extremely busy. Complimentary drink when you come in, very reasonable pricing, friendly & clean. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more
