I have had 5 wonderful experiences (and counting) with Shannon Moe Cooks. I first met Shannon in November of 2011 when a friend of mine brought me to a pop-up dinner that Shannon hosted and catered for 24 people in her lovely home in the Maxwell Park area of Oakland. Such a fun night and "a foodies delight". The braised short ribs were divine, and my mouth is still watering 9 years later just thinking of them. In early 2012, Shannon ventured into making individual reheatable gourmet meals for take-out/pick up, at which time I got to sample her fried chicken...Shannon strikes again! In June of 2012, Shannon catered for an Art Beat Foundation fundraiser event at the 25th St. Collective where she made some awesome pulled pork and pulled tofu sandwiches (I was a guest and once again got to eat her bomb-ass food!) In November of 2013, Shannon instructed a small group cooking class in a beautiful house in Blackhawke, CA, where we drank wine while we cooked, learned some skills, ate a delicious meal (pictured) and chatted with new friends. Finally, in March 2019, Shannon catered for a small group cabin "girls getaway" in Tahoe where she cooked an epic pan roasted chicken in wine sauce. I have got to know Shannon very well over the last 10 years as we bonded over our love of food, wine and travel. I feel confident recommending Shannon's food for any type of event, big or small. Shannon catered our wedding, and was just awesome to work with. She met with us multiple times to go over the menu to make sure we were on the same page. She created a menu that catered to my wife's gluten intolerance, and our request for Latin influenced cuisine. And she did this with enthusiasm that was contagious. Shannon graciously and expertly help us host our wedding recently. Our's was a DIY event relying on lots of friendly support. Shannon is a very experienced caterer who brought great ideas and leadership in setting the room up, and when the caterer dropped our food, which was not enough, Shannon ran to a grocery store and created a number of additional platters for us on the fly. Shannon and team did an amazing job organizing and catering a fundraiser for our organization. Everything at the fresh taco bar was delicious and made from scratch. They partnered with a local drag king group and managed the lived sound for the show. They decorated the space beautiful with live plants and organized auction tables and bidding. Shannon catered our wedding at the beginning of August in Oakland and we were really thrilled with the result. Most importantly was her impeccable attention to detail and her planning services in the months leading up to the event.
