    Cha Siu Sea Bass.

Had an amazing meal at Royal Oxen Kitchen today! Saw this on DoorDash after I hit the golf range in Hayward. Loved it all. The Caramelized Pork Belly was tender and flavorful, perfectly balanced with coconut soy sauce, steamed rice, veggies, and a fresh salad. The Cha Siu Sea Bass was a standout--comparable to fine dining, with moist, perfectly marinated fish. The Australian Wagyu Steak was juicy and rich, topped with a truffle glaze and chimichurri sauce. Nothing was dry, and each dish had just the right amount of sauce. Can't wait to order again!

New food spot in Hayward that's not burgers, tacos, or fried chicken ?! Had to try it. It was SOLD OUT when we went ! Me and the home girl said forget that, we coming back. Rolled up a few days later and hit up the joint to try the full menu. That WAG a DAG wagyu meal was BOMB to the dot COM !!! " I'll be back "

We were having a bad day and really needed a pick-me-up and saw this place. I am soooo glad that we checked it out because we ordered the wagyu steak, caramelized pork belly and tater tots and everything was amazing. All the protein was perfectly cooked and came with a side of fresh veggies and delish sauce. Will definitely come again!

Ordered the caramelized pork belly and butter scallops. Both were delicious and had great flavor!

    Australian Wagyu

I've finally had a chance to check out East Bay Eats little food hall and saw this place on the menu. As I was browsing the kiosk menu I came across Royal Oxen Kitchen and decided to give this spot a try since the Australian steak and sea bass sounded amazing. Sooo glad I went with this option because the food did not disappoint. The steak was cooked perfectly and super tender. Had some type of amazing sauce that came with the steak too but didn't get a description of it. My spouse let me try her sea bass and usually I'm not a fan of fish but this bass was surprisingly good. Next time I eat here I would def consider getting the bass for myself. I was so hungry when j got my food that I forgot to take pics of the side salad, but that salad dressing was so good. That needs to be in the menu by itself. I know this place is new so hopefully it sticks around. If you haven't yet, for sure book mark this place and give it a shot next time you're in Hayward.

OMG!! Our new go to spot!! So amazing and food cooked so perfectly even when it was to go. Felt like I was eating at a high end cuisine restaurant. Can't wait to go back to try to wagyu steak and the chicken.

Australian Waygu and Caramelized Pork Belly

I actually came by late on their soft opening and it was sold out. So I came back the next day early. Hands down food did not disappoint, this place is a hidden gem. I ordered the Caramelized pork belly and Australian Waygu steak. 12 out of 10. Don't walk run to this place. Can't wait to try all the other items on the menu.

My husband decided to do a nice meal for my 30th birthday and this was the perfect personalized option we could do at home that still felt fancy and tasted amazing. We did a sashimi platter for two (came in two lovely personal boxes) and a separate wagyu dish. The wagyu dish and sauce were to die for!!! Flavors were so amazing and we absolutely loved it. Sashimi was fresh and we really enjoyed the variety. Would definitely do again and consider doing it for bigger parties when we host or have guests over. Great for two, but a great idea for groups too. Pictures definitely don't do it justice and highly recommend!!!

We had such an awesome dinner with Chef Viet! Everything tasted amazing and looks beautiful. Highly recommend Royal Oxen Kitchen and Chef Viet to anyone looking for a fun yet intimate private event or just a special dinner date for two. Thank you, Chef Viet for everything!

Chef Viet was amazing! Family and friends hosted a surprise upscale private dinner before my fiancé and I officially tie the knot. Chef Viet was professional, courteous, outgoing, and went the extra mile. The food was delicious and there was nothing we did not like. The pairings he chose for each plate were beyond words. In addition, his plating presentations were IG worthy. I would highly recommend him for your next private event!

My partner and I had the opportunity to plan a small wedding in these unprecedented times, and we really wanted to treat our guests (VERY PICKY) to something special. Without a doubt, Viet and his team absolutely nailed the four-course menu, and we got nothing but praises for the food. We tried the tasting menu prior to the ceremony, and only got more excited to have the food again. He crafted considerate dishes for the guests of honor with specific palates, and efficiently navigated our last-minute curveball/mini-wedding crisis regarding reception details. 5/5 I would be honored to try more from Royal Oxen Kitchen, and hopefully will do so soon (without the wedding stress) since many of our guests were looking to cater future events.

Extremely considerate, professional chefs. Their seven course menu was the perfect way to celebrate my mother's birthday! Can't recommend them enough.

We weren't planning on eating, but decided to come try it out! We had the oxtail and grits and the peach biscuit. Let me tell you, I give that biscuit 5 STARS! The honey butter sauce that's drizzled on top is so tasty and rich, I wanted to lick it off the plate! Despite being so rich, it wasn't over powering and had the peaches and goat cheese to cut the richness. The biscuit itself was so flaky and buttery! I could have definitely eaten 3 biscuits and called it a day! The chef came out to personally tell the crowd her youngest son was the one who "perfected" the recipe and man props to her son! I can't wait til they decide to sell that sauce in a jar. The oxtail grits were good, I wish they added more gravy but the taste was there. The grits were nice and chunky, but smoother than I thought. I usually like my grits more gritty. I think I would've liked it on some rice.

We could not be happier with the recommendation as the appetizers and entrées were absolutely stunning -- both in flavor and aesthetics! Our biggest difficulty was choosing dishes from his diverse catalog of offerings since they all sounded delicious. He was also very accommodating and made various adjustments to account for particular food allergies that some of our guests had (without compromising on flavor at all). For appetizers, we chose: - Pepper-Crusted Seared Ahi Tuna (Seka Hills EVOO, Sicilian Pesto, Herbs) - Ratatouille Tarts (Puff Pastry, Seka Hills EVOO, Parmigiano Reggiano) - Pistachio Flatbread (Onion, Burrata, Honey, and Chili Oil -- this one was a extra-huge hit with all guests) For dinner, we started with a Local Harvest Salad (Farm Vegetables, Fruit, Vinaigrette, Cheese, and Nuts -- plating was particularly beautiful for the salad), and had three entrée options: - Wagyu New York Steak (Imperial American Wagyu, Roasted Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, Potato Galette, and Red Wine Jus) - Signature Duck (Mary's Crusted Duck Breast, Hind-Quarter Confit, Potato Cake, Charred Vegetables, and Duck Jus) - Roasted Butternut Squash with Cannellini Beans (Charred Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, and Saffron-Rosemary Broth) Throughout our entire wedding and afterwards, guests were telling us how impressed they were and that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! He and his team arrived right on schedule, set up (including silverware and plates) cooked and served outstanding food, provided extremely attentive service, and then cleaned up, leaving the kitchen absolutely spotless (while also deftly navigating a brief power outage!). We cannot recommend Adam Small Cooks highly enough! His food, attention to detail, and service are truly next level. Thank you again for making our wedding so special!

My (now) husband is a severe Celiac and so making sure all food is completely Gluten-free was the number one concern. The Chef was quick to respond and so helpful in brainstorming a potential menu for the event (we settled on Mexican). She then got started on putting together the recipes and gathering the proposed ingredient list. This is where the Chef went above and beyond for us-she sent us the full recipes and proposed ingredients(down to the specific brands) so that we could ensure that everything was free from gluten and free from cross-contamination (a shocking amount of spices are processed on the same equipment as wheat). She even was able to find a way to make gluten free Tres Leches and Tiramisu (our favorites). For our wedding cakes! Menu: Crudités with Green Goddess Dip Queso Fundido with Chorizo Pico de Gallo Chopped Salad Chili Verde Stew Slow Cooked Barbocoa Tacos Roasted Zucchini Sweet Bell Pepper Rice Spicy Citrus Black Beans Tres Leches with strawberries Tiramisu Preparation: The chef packaged up all of our food so that my sister could pick it up and transport it (our venue was 4 hours north of the bay). She provided detailed instructions for reheating the food and prepping the cakes. She even made sure we would have any additional utensils that would be necessary. She gave me an accurate and in-depth invoice that broke down the expenses and made it easy to work into our wedding budget. Food: WOW WOW WOW! The best part (obviously) was the food! Everything was fresh and vibrant and so so delicious! The Queso provided the best cheese pull I have ever seen and my husband and I are still drooling over that Tres Leches and my family keeps bringing up how incredible the dinner was! Additionally my husband was able to freely eat everything to his hearts content, confident that he wouldn't become ill on our special day. I cannot recommend Chef Johanna enough!!

We found him on yelp and loved his reviews and also loved how unique his menu was as it had Korean and Chinese fusion which was so perfect for our wedding. The food is absolutely incredible and we literally got so many compliments from our guests saying the food was the best food they've ever had at any wedding. Chef ken was also very helpful in helping us pick out the dish wear and arranged all of the rental dishware which made the process easy. The only problems we had with Chef Ken was that he can often be non-responsive and difficult to get in touch with through email. He's definitely busy and has multiple private events going on but at times we had to really hunt him down. It was difficult also because his secretary went on vacation around the time of the wedding so I think he was managing everything on his own. Also, I would also get everything written in bullet points for Chef Ken as he's definitely busy and it's easy for him to forget things we agreed on such as quantity of amount of certain dishes, rental numbers, types of food we ordered, deduction of the initial taste testing, etc. Small things but it changes the overall invoice and required a bunch of redoing of the invoices. He also said he would help us come up with a custom drink menu for our wedding which we ended up scrambling at the end to make our own menu. Again, I think there was just too much for Chef Ken to do on his own without extra help. Overall though, the wedding day went extremely smoothly with no issues. The staff he hired was solid and exceptional. The bartenders were awesome and fun. The food including the entrees, dessert and appetizers were amazing and it was unanimous from the guests that the food at our wedding was by far the best from any other wedding they've been to. Highlights was everyone loves the Miso Chilean Sea bass, Korean Street Tacos, Poke Tacos and the Tomahawk steak. My personal favorite was the Garlic Noodles!
