This is the go to place if you want delicious bbq. I've had Hawaiian bbq (I was born there) and also had Texas bbq (lived there a few years) so I will be happy to rate 1 star if the bbq is no good. Wife and I came here for lunch. We ordered baked beans, fried okra, French fries, and Cole slaw for our sides. I ordered the half chicken plate and wifey ordered the bbq chicken sandwich. What makes the food great is that it's not overcooked and dry. Our food was perfect, chicken was moist and full of flavor. Located at Norterra shopping center, next door to Panda Express. The service is fast and friendly. They will treat you right. The ambience is like you are in a Texas bbq grill out. Country music playing and all the workers are very accommodating. We got brownies for desert and those were good too. Fountain drink area with self serve refills and a sauce bar with different types of sauces. Didn't get the burger pictured when ordering online. Soggy bun, meat, cheese, that was it. The online menu lists other toppings and there is no checkbox or anything that makes it look like you need to select the ones you want. This is so backwards to every other place I've ordered online from that has standard toppings like lettuce, tomato, and onion (like pictured in the app). I had just finished leaving my doctor's appointment, and decided I'd better go grab a bite to eat something before taking a long drive home. I searched on Google maps for restaurants near me and Shane's popped up. I hadn't had BBQ since Mexico lol so I figured I'd give them a try. When I entered, I was the only person there. I was instantly greeted by Andrew. I told him it was my first time coming here. So, he gave me time to look over the menu, and he let me know to ask him if I had any questions. I went over the menu, and to my surprise, they didn't have hot links!!! What kind of BBQ joint doesn't have hot links?! I'm flabbergasted! A star off for that lmfao Anywho, I went on to order the sampler. Might as well try a few different things at once! The sampler included 1/4 rack of ribs, 2 chicken tenders, pulled pork (you can get pulled chicken if you don't want pork), 2 sides, and toast. I got friend okra and baked beans. I was ecstatic to see friend okra on the menu! I hadn't had that in years!!! Oh! The drink isn't included... Womp. The pulled pork, baked beans, and fried okra, especially the fried okra was good! I was kinda sad the ribs weren't all that great. They were cooked well! Fell off the bone and everything. But, I wasn't too fancy about the flavor/seasoning. And, the chicken tenders were just too bland for my liking. Blander than Raising Cane's lol but the tenders themselves are better quality than Cane's tenders, I will give them that. One the other hand, I did enjoy trying the specialty BBQ sauces! The mustard one was my absolute favorite! I dipped my ribs and chicken tenders in it! Yum! I would definitely buy a bottle or two of their specialty BBQ sauce for home, or to gift to my Grill Master gal. All of those flavors slapped! Good, good, good! But, I would come back here to try something else on the menu. The Big Dad, which is a pulled pork sandwich, is the house favorite. So, I'd try that out or the chicken wings. Second time being disappointed here. This time it was 20 min to closing which I hate going in that late but it was my husbands and mine anniversary we were gonna take food to the lake for a night swim. Our order was almost 50$ but since we didn't get to eat hardly any of it, it was a waste. My meat had no sauce on it so it was cold and dry. And the sides I ordered were wrong but also cold. My husbands was a rib plate with one rib on it cold and dry. We went back up there since we were still close by and got back at 906. The employees were in the back ignoring me knocking. One employee walked by outside and I told him all I needed was bbq sauce and I could take the food home and warm it up myself but he said he was clocked out and that the employees in the inside won't answer since it's past nine. Stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago with my husband, and we were greeted by Jeff; the friendliest, most knowledgeable owner I've ever met. He enthusiastically walked us through the menu and pointed out some of his personal favorites along with what seemed to be the crowd pleasers as well. My husband went for a burger with fries, and I chose the Big Daddy Pork Sandwich with fried Okra. I also added a side of slaw. Wowza is what comes to mind when trying to describe the food as well as the overall experience. Jeff really knew his business. He told us how the company came to be, the history, and even told us about the movie it was shown in with Clint Eastwood!! The food was fantastic. My husband really enjoyed his burger and I really enjoyed my sandwich. I will say I am pretty sure the pork for my sandwich was not made fresh that day and was most likely left over from the day before. It had that distinct taste meat gets when reheated or warmed up in the microwave. This by no means made me not want to eat it. It was just an observation. The Texas Toast was perfectly grilled. Ohhhhhh soooooooo buttery and crispy!! I also tried a few of their sauces. The Hot BBQ was great, not as spicy as I was hoping for, but I understand what is spicy to some is not spicy to all. The Muatard BBQ is also very tasty! The slaw is a traditional mayo based slaw. To me, it was perfect!! Crunchy cabbage, slightly creamy and the perfect balance of sweet and tart! If you're a slaw eater, try it!! You will not be disappointed. The Okra was just OK. I mean....it's Okra. It was perfectly fried, yet lacked flavor. I think if you're offering fried Okra, the coating needs to be heavily seasoned. But...that's just my opinion. My husband and I will be back for sure. Next time, I'll start with the Peach Cobbler! The manager Edward Didn't want to cancel an order placed online, was placed at the wrong location and the manager said they can't cancel because it was already made, the other location is far from where we are at, we are at lose of money and didn't get any food. As I was talking to the manager he was being rude and completely ignored me. I called a 2nd time trying to reach anyone I got hinged up on. Kinda surprised I have not reviewed Shane's before. For years I came here almost every Monday for their Monday lunch special. Unfortunately they stopped doing the daily specials. (-1 star for no more lunch specials) I guess that's why I only eat here occasionally now when they have a special. This week they did a special for $6 for the pulled pork sandwich a side and a drink. Excellent deal and pretty tasty! If you go to Shane's you need to have the correct expectations and you will enjoy your meal. I gotta tell you, I have been all over the country and my roots are in the South. This is, by far, hands down the Best bar-b-que I have had that is close to what I believe is fantastic bar-b-que! The portions are perfect. The meat has no fatty pieces and they give you some of the outside char that is so tender it melts on your tongue like cotton candy! That is before you use the sauce!! Their sauce is the perfect balance of bar-b-que sauce and vinegar! Utter perfection!! Okra was coated with a delicate crust and tasted like my grandmother picked them out of her garden. Walked in to try Shane's because we do not have one where we live. When we first walked in we met the owner. A great guys took some time explaining the menu to us, which was very kind. We ordered our food and went to sit down. After 30 minutes had gone by, and the place was not very busy, someone came out from the back and explained to us that our food was ready but they had lost the ticket and it had sat back there for a while and did not want to serve us "cold food." It was frustrating but we appreciated not getting food that had been sitting around. Another 15 minutes went by and our food came out. Remembering the cold food comment I was expecting this food to be piping hot. Much to my dismay our food was cold. Not cool or like warm, like out of the refrigerator COLD. I went to tell someone of this situation as I had grown extremely frustrated at this point. The guy walks over to our table and physically puts his bare hands on the food to confirm what we had said. Losing all faith in this place, and not allowing them a 3rd opportunity to mess up a simple order, we left and went to a reliable chain restaurant that we knew we would get. And we did. There were many opportunities for Shane's to keep my business but they dropped the ball every time. When the food got messed up the first time they could have brought some food to munch on like, "so sorry this happened but while you're waiting try these fried okra (etc.) on the house. It's almost like they didn't care. And, as we were leaving another family told us that they had the same issue we were experiencing. No one wants to eat cold meat! read more

It's always a bad sign when there aren't a lot of people eating in the restaurant. $40 for 2 (CHOPPED) brisket sandwiches, plus $4.99 for each for a mediocre side and drink, and peach cobbler.
