    CHOPPED BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH
    John T.

This is the go to place if you want delicious bbq. I've had Hawaiian bbq (I was born there) and also had Texas bbq (lived there a few years) so I will be happy to rate 1 star if the bbq is no good. Wife and I came here for lunch. We ordered baked beans, fried okra, French fries, and Cole slaw for our sides. I ordered the half chicken plate and wifey ordered the bbq chicken sandwich. What makes the food great is that it's not overcooked and dry. Our food was perfect, chicken was moist and full of flavor. Located at Norterra shopping center, next door to Panda Express. The service is fast and friendly. They will treat you right. The ambience is like you are in a Texas bbq grill out. Country music playing and all the workers are very accommodating. We got brownies for desert and those were good too. Fountain drink area with self serve refills and a sauce bar with different types of sauces. Very good selection of bbq if you're looking for ribs, chicken or brisket. They got it all. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did.

Dad saw that at one of our favorite restaurants there was a deal we couldn't miss! It's Shackmas at Shane's Rib Shack, and we got the deal of the day. A full rack of ribs for $20 we did get a side salad and drinks but it was so filling and great. We love Sonny's down in Florida but we don't have access to that here so this is the next best! Love this place have been going for years since they opened at Happy Valley!

    Great food.

RIB PLATE BBQ PORK PLATE Mac n cheese POTATO SALAD

Orderd 2 meat sampler with mac and a potato salad. Waiter was chill no problems with his attitude. But when i got my plate i saw the ribs. As a Texan, i was displeased by the bbq ribs. Dry as jerky, no tenderness dry like turkey. After taking a few bites i wasnt even hungry anymore. For 33$ feels like i got robbed plus they forgot to gove me my potato salad. Didnt realize until i finished my mac n cheese

Tasty bbq corner. The ribs, half rack, was good for sharing amongst two. Tender and flavorful, enjoyable eats, and accompanying mac and cheese complemented it nicely. Friendly service and Texas style ambience.

The Owner could double as a a radio Personality. I told him it was my first time in and he ran me through the menu like a Sales Man. I was sold on the 1/2 rack ribs with beans and fries. The restaurant is clean and gives you a Texas vibe. The rib meat is tender and touching it with the original sauce is excellent. The beans are delicious and toast is tasty. Stop in and try this joint.

My friend and I were in the area and after riding our bikes we were hungry. I've not been here so decided to give it a try. Got the BBQ pork sandwich, drink, and potato salad. Everything was ok. Nothing to write home about. The potato salad was decent. Nice flavor. If you're in the area give it a try.

    Beef jerky ribs.

Just avoid. Got the Uber delivery to try them out. Maybe they give sub prime food to Uber. The ribs did fall off the rack, the problem was they were yesterday's ribs heated and burned to exhaustion. So you have these tibs that still have the collagen breakdown, bit the meat is so dry you have soak it. 5.00 Mac and cheese at 3oz. I guess it's okay if you've never tasted BBQ never been to Texas or Kansas City, but they really need to step up because they are close to just hiring short order cooks to convince that this is good when it's really jerkey. When you have to dip each bight in bbq sauce every night to swallow you know it's over. Sorry guys, but your food sucks.

I had just finished leaving my doctor's appointment, and decided I'd better go grab a bite to eat something before taking a long drive home. I searched on Google maps for restaurants near me and Shane's popped up. I hadn't had BBQ since Mexico lol so I figured I'd give them a try. When I entered, I was the only person there. I was instantly greeted by Andrew. I told him it was my first time coming here. So, he gave me time to look over the menu, and he let me know to ask him if I had any questions. I went over the menu, and to my surprise, they didn't have hot links!!! What kind of BBQ joint doesn't have hot links?! I'm flabbergasted! A star off for that lmfao Anywho, I went on to order the sampler. Might as well try a few different things at once! The sampler included 1/4 rack of ribs, 2 chicken tenders, pulled pork (you can get pulled chicken if you don't want pork), 2 sides, and toast. I got friend okra and baked beans. I was ecstatic to see friend okra on the menu! I hadn't had that in years!!! Oh! The drink isn't included... Womp. The pulled pork, baked beans, and fried okra, especially the fried okra was good! I was kinda sad the ribs weren't all that great. They were cooked well! Fell off the bone and everything. But, I wasn't too fancy about the flavor/seasoning. And, the chicken tenders were just too bland for my liking. Blander than Raising Cane's lol but the tenders themselves are better quality than Cane's tenders, I will give them that. One the other hand, I did enjoy trying the specialty BBQ sauces! The mustard one was my absolute favorite! I dipped my ribs and chicken tenders in it! Yum! I would definitely buy a bottle or two of their specialty BBQ sauce for home, or to gift to my Grill Master gal. All of those flavors slapped! Good, good, good! But, I would come back here to try something else on the menu. The Big Dad, which is a pulled pork sandwich, is the house favorite. So, I'd try that out or the chicken wings. But, I'd really love to see hot links on the menu! I didn't forget about that lol I really just can't believe they didn't have hot links lol

The Macintosh is described as a neighborhood restaurant that serves modern American and Southern cuisine. It was once called Grassroots Kitchen & Tap before it got rebranded. They have a diverse menu with a lot of different choices. Shrimp and Grits, Barbecued Beef Ribs, a Chicken Salad and Po Boy Sandwiches are some of the standouts. I settled on the Rotisserie Chicken which came with a side of onion rings. I'm a big pesto fan and loved the buttermilk pesto for dipping. I had a nice time and look forward to a return visit. It tasted slightly sweet with something else I can't place my finger on. French Toast with the grand mariner sauce- yes please and thank you! I did not taste the sauce, but the French toast tasted good. I had some egg whites and the chicken tenders with it. Not a fan of chicken tenders, but there's no substituting, so tenders it is. Mocktail with lemonade and ginger- I don't remember the name but that was quite refreshing. I would've opted for more ginger b/c I like it spicy , and it got the job done. My other homies had shrimp and grits, salmon croquettes. They enjoyed it. Shout out to our waiter Chance . Quite pleasant and had a great aura. He recommended some spots for us to see/explore and didn't rush us. I'd definitely return should I visit AZ again!

Popped in before a Suns game, an easy walk past Chase Field. It was good to get away from the usual pregame options. The place was clean and inviting, and had a little bit of a "back in time" feel without being dated. Quickly and pleasantly welcomed and seated. Then came the hard part, making choices. We had fried chicken and fried catfish, with sides of Mac and Cheese, macaroni salad (yep, Mac two ways), greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. All were great, obviously home made from longstanding recipes. Especially into the greens, which were bursting with flavor. The catfish was delish, and my wife called the fried chicken the best she ever had. Saved room for peach cobbler, which was served smoking hot. The perfect sweet end to the savory meal. Next time I'm all in on pork chops, which looked amazing. And we will come on a Sunday, the only day dressing is available as a side option. If you're looking for a meal that feels like a friend had you over for supper, go here! Thanks Mrs. White's family!

Tucked back in a small building, just off Southern Avenue, you'll find Southern Fried. It is a small little walk in store front, so plan ahead to order out. We went ahead and ordered online to make things simple and easy. As shown on their building and advertised they show they serve Jamaican food so I was pretty let down when I looked at the menu to discover they do not have any Jamaican food. Seeing pictures of previous Yelp reviews of jerk chicken and oxtail left me bummed. We ended up ordering the fried okra, fried mushrooms, the 2 fish and 5 shrimp combo, along with the fried catfish and fries. We took our food to go and headed home, just around the corner. Once opening the containers i instantly got excited about the mushrooms. Anyone that knows me knows i am mushroom obsessed. With a quick dip in the ranch that came with and popping one into my mouth.... Yummmm! The okra was a bit of a miss. It seems they were still a bit slimy. Moving along to our main courses, I was disappointed to find that our fish was packed on top of our fries and the fries were very limp, soggy and unseasoned. I think packing the takeout differently could easily eliminate this issue. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned to perfection. They both had a perfect blend of spice and a light and crispy batter. I would love to see Jamaican food on the menu, as the advertising is a bit deceptive. Overall I would definitely be willing to try them again and would love to give one of their burgers a taste test.
