The portions were generous, I had trouble listening to my stomach when I was full because everything was so delicious. The panko crust was crispy, the sauce was flavorful. My friend and I split the apple pie because we were so full. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating, and the bar tender was very kind when I inquired about an allergy to an ingredient I thought might be in the drink. He without question checked every ingredient's label, no matter how unlikely it was that the ingredient was in there, to make sure. Took my husband here for the first time for his birthday. The food was so good, no complaints at all. My husband got the fish fried and I got one of that specials for that day, which was the seared pan monk fish with green beans risotto. So many great apps to choose from we couldn't narrow it down. Can't go wrong with the charcuterie board. They have the best roasted Brussel sprouts I have had. The fried cicken is a huge meal and cooked perfectly. Another great pick was the fish fry which is also huge and tasty. The filet mignon and the sea scallops were delicious and great presentation. This was the first time we came here. First and foremost, the parking is very limited. We found a spot on the side of the restaurant. There is a small lot across the street we seen when we were leaving. We did make reservations and glad we did, it was a Saturday night and when we left it was full. Many great food choices and specials as well. We ended up having drink specials as well as the nightly dinner special. Food was so good and service was excellent as they were patient on what we decided to have. I have been coming to the Shamus for years now as a result of a college friendship and can always count on having a delicious meal! Not only do they serve dinner, they often hold special holiday meals that I've attended like Mother's Day brunch and they do takeout out holiday meals my family has enjoyed for thanksgiving. I recently was able to hold a very special event here and the setup was perfect for a brunch centered celebration. We were also able to get vegan tofu scramble as a vegan option. A few weeks later and my guests are still commenting on how delicious the food was. Don't sleep on the chocolate peanut pie! Worth the journey out to Lockport and plenty of parking. read more

But we did hear the waitress name them at another table. So you do have to ask. My husband order the lobster bisque and he said it was so good that he had to take a piece of the wonderful bread and butter to clean his bowl. No judgment, I don't blame him! I had the braised beef short rib with the veggie or the day (my fave) asparagus. It was amazing! The roast was worth it. I hate to use the word moist but it was truth. I didn't really need a knife. The wine Demi glaze on the meat perfection. My husband had the fish and chips. Dessert, so full but we shared the Crème Brûlée. Oh my god, it was like we died and went to dessert heaven. Shamus is a true 10/10 restaurant and Lockport is lucky to have such an establishment. The owner has greeted us each time we've been and she is just the sweetest! The service is always quite attentive and we've always had a great experience. Our first visit was out on their small private patio perfect for a summer cocktail, but we have also sat inside both down and upstairs. If you struggle with stairs then I would recommend calling ahead and reserving a spot downstairs. Now for the food! The pecan crusted chicken is my favorite on their standard menu and my husband loves the blue cheese sirloin, but I often find myself ordering off their specials menu and it has always been worth it! The Brussels sprouts and charcuterie on the appetizers menu are regular go-tos for us as well. They have a full bar and seasonal cocktails that hit the spot too. Our server, Courtney was all smiles and very attentive as well as the supporting staff. Wife ordered an apple cider mule that was full of fresh sliced apples and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered the bleu cheese crusted steak and the lobster and shrimp pasta and a side of fresh cut fries. We love fresh cut fries! The food was very good. Steak was cooked medium rare as requested. You don't know how difficult it is to get a steak cook as you request. I believe everyone tries but only few actually succeed. Shamus succeeded! The pasta was great. It came with a lemon wedge that was full of juice! The heirloom tomatoes were just right and there was plenty of lobster and shrimp. Got takeout here a few weeks ago based on some of the recent yelp reviews. The experience started out ok. We ordered over the phone but they didn't say where curbside pickup was and never thought to ask where to pick it up. When we arrived we pulled onto the side street next to the restaurant and into a small driveway. We didnt see any signs about pick up there and only saw an employee entrance so went back to the front. When my husband went inside they gave him our food but said pickup was actually in the back. A bit of a mixup but it worked out. Once we got home I was ready to dig in. We had ordered the fish and chips and an order of Korean BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese sides. The fish was a big disappointment. I expected the fish to be like what you'd normally get with a fish fry, crispy on the outside and flaky inside. It was actually tough, not a word I'd usually associate with fish. I had to cut it with a knife. The fish itself was very dry. Fries were OK. My husband was really enjoying his dinner. Loved the flavor of the chicken and thought the sides were good. That was until he found a long hair in his mac and cheese! At that point he lost his appetite. We did contact the restaurant and they refunded the price of his dinner. Just not sure after this whole experience if I want to try them again. Based on others experiences I'm tempted but probably not any time soon. read more

I came here two nights ago with four friends. The parking situation is a little weird but my friend and I found a spot across from the restaurant. My friend made a reservation for six under Colleen. When she tried changing it earlier on Friday to five, they said they didn't have a reservation for her. They had mistakenly put it under Caroline. (It always pays to spell out your name, I guess.) Two of my friends were waiting for us at the bar. Once a friend and I got there, we were seated in our own area just off of the bar. It wasn't in the main area of the restaurant so it wasn't too loud, which was great. I hate restaurants that are too dim where it's hard to see the menu and restaurants where I need to yell over music or others patrons talking in order to be heard. Chaelyn was bartending on Friday night. She was our waitress as well. She was really nice. I had ordered a Lavender Bee's Knees drink. It was fantastic. It had fun, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and lavender simple syrup. I ended up ordering a second one before I left and there was water for the table. As an appetizer, I ordered some potato pancakes off of their small plates menu. Most places have greasy potato pancakes and they're burnt. I usually love them like that because that's what I'm used to but these ones were fantastic!! They had fresh potatoes and weren't greasy or burnt. I loved the way they looked and tasted. I couldn't decide between the fish fry or the lobster and shrimp pasta for my meal. I ended up getting the lobster and shrimp pasta. It was on their specials menu. I was told that they switch up their specials and it isn't always offered. It was $35 and was quite good. I thought the portion should've been a bit larger for the price. The service wasn't bad. Chaelyn was a great waitress and I appreciated her great work ethic. The food and drinks were great. Lockport is a bit out of the way for me but I'm glad my friends and I stopped out here for dinner. I wouldn't mind stopping out here again for more drinks and maybe to try their fish fry or something else off of their specials menu. read more

I am so sad to have to write such a bad review for this place as it's a cute, cozy place with very nice people. Our waitress was super friendly and professional and the service was quick. However, the food was pretty awful. I started with a cup of Lobster bisque which was sweet. It was the first time I had sweet bisque and it was not pleasant. I also tried some of my friend's scallops which was super salty, but ok otherwise. For the main course, I wanted the cajun Haddock but it wasn't available so I went with the shrimp risotto with pea and green beans. It was really bad unfortunately, very very bland. The only taste I got from it was flour or chalk.. the beans were kinda raw and tough. My friend's fried chicken looked burnt and he said KFC has a better fried chicken. Went to Sheamus with a reservation and was greeted promptly upon arrival, a historic building brick inside and out, large dining area with a separated huge bar. I think I saw that they've been in business for 72 years so they're doing something right. The food was on par with the pricing, service was very good but is very loud inside. Perhaps it's due to the brick walls and the rooms being broken up but there was a table of six or eight in the same room that we were in and the noise was unbearably loud to the point you couldn't even carry a conversation. I had a fish fry this visit, which was very typical of a western New York fish fry. The fish was cooked perfectly, flaky and tender and the breading was tasty but not thick and heavy which made for a enjoyable meal. Both of the sides, french fries and coleslaw were on point. The menu is small but if all the other meals were as good as the fish fry then they are just serving what they know they can do right, and that's a good thing. read more

In fairness, the reservation was smooth and the service was great. All the staff, particularly our server, were amazingly polite and kind. However, the food didn't stood up to the same standard. My seared scallops were super salty. The fried chicken was ridiculously bad. KFC has better fried chicken. It was burnt and very very dry to the point that it breaks my heart. The Mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes felt like were made last week. The risotto was tasteless and half-cooked. So, service: 5/5 Food: 0/5 I'm just hoping it was an unfortunate, unlucky day. I planned a birthday dinner for my boyfriend here about a month ago and it was an absolute hit! The food was hot, delicious, and a decent portion size for everyone at the table. We got our own little private room in the upstairs dining area which comfortably fit our whole group! Our waitress was very attentive to all 9 of us and all the food came out around the same time. I was able to bring a cake from home and they cut it for us and made sure everyone got a piece. Great spot for a large group or even a date! The prices are reasonable for what you're getting, too. Comfort food at its finest in Lockport, NY. A fantastic staff who made our visit so wonderful, we felt like family. The Blue Cheese Sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and the blue cheese topping gave a great flavor to the plate. The pan seared salmon was also delicious and the citrus marinade compliments the fish so well. Such a great experience we weren't expecting. Came here on a Saturday night with some family and had a great experience here! So to start, the parking here is a little confusing: you can park on the street and there's a (very) small parking lot in back of the restaurant, but there are parking lots next door and across the street from the restaurant that you can park in as well. Once I figured out the parking though, the rest of the evening was truly wonderful. The inside was nice, tidy, and festive for the Christmas holiday season. The place filled up pretty quick when we arrived but it never seemed too loud in there, which was nice. We had made reservations earlier in the day so we didn't have to wait for a table when we arrived. Our waitress was excellent in describing the menu and the chef specials for the evening. I decided to go with a chef special: a wild-caught grouper filet over a bed of zucchini noodles with a side salad and some warm bread with an assortment of butter and oil to spread. I got the house dressing, which was maple vinaigrette, truly fantastic. This was the first time I had ever had grouper and I truly enjoyed the dish! It was cooked to perfection and was easy enough to break apart with a fork. Our table had also ordered the pecan chicken and a 12 oz. pork chop (which looked great and tasted great, from what I was told). To finish our meal, we all shared a piece of peppermint cheesecake. Now that was a nice, smooth cheesecake with peppermint pieces crumbled on top with a chocolate crust. I'm incredibly impressed with Shamus and look forward to coming back! read more

Where to begin??? The food here is pretty good. I had onion rings as an appetizer and they were really homemade and crumbly(just how I like them.) I also had a little bit of the French onion soup. I must say this is one of the better French onion soups in the Western NY area. For dinner I had the pecan crusted chicken. It was good but my chicken could've been a little bit thinner. You get two of them and a order of garlic mashed potatoes. Let me tell you those really hit the spot! Another thing I want to mention, they don't carry coke or Pepsi products.
