It's been years since I had been here. They did not disappoint. IT definitely got even better. The staff was great and very accommodating. It took a while to get our drinks because the bar was busy. The meatball appetizer and the pot stickers were full of tasty goodness. When the dinners came out the portions were huge, and the presentation was great. The sweet potato fries and the sauce were amazing. The short ribs were cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth good. I had enough to bring home for lunch the next day. I recently visited the Hilltop Restaurant after having their catered food at a baby shower. Their catered food was delicious. They had Mac and cheese, sala and sandwiches. All were very good and I noticed all of the guests commenting on how delicious the food was. I decided to visit the restaurant after my positive experience trying their food. I liked how the restaurant had a "fancy" feel with white tablecloths they had. The waitress was nice and checked on my friend and I at the appropriate times. The menu was pretty extensive with lots of choices. My friend and I both ordered the chicken and broccoli Alfredo. I really enjoyed this meal. It has the perfect amount of chicken and broccoli in it. This was one of the best meals we had in a long time. While visiting family in Olcott, they took us to Hilltop, a super casual and inviting atmosphere where the food is spectacular. I wish we lived closer to this gem. We would be there all the time for good drinks, amazing food and incredible service. First let me say the waitress Chantelle was superb. She was funny and welcoming and made us feel right at home, taken care of and was attentive. We ordered a bunch of apps and one was better than the next: fried pickles, wings, burnt ends (my personal favorite) and frips/chips. My entree was the special and it was by far the best meal I have had out in a long time, flat iron steak served with mashed potatoes, kale sundried tomatoes, and mushrooms In a delicious sauce. My boyfriend ordered the brisket and it came with corned bread which was very good. My aunt ordered the ribeye and enjoyed it. We were driving home from Olcott yesterday, feeling hungry and Hilltop caught our eye so we decided to turn around and give it a try! Hooray for restaurants being back open! The inside dining room looks to be undergoing a pretty large renovation, but the bar area was open (not for patrons...yet) and the large wrap around porch was open for seating. The large porch was what caught our eye, so we were happy to eat outside. They also have what seemed to be a very efficient to-go service (thanks COVID), the pickup sore was near our table and they worked it well. Overall, we were very pleased with everything. Good, efficient service, nice atmosphere and very good food. My husband had the garden salad with steak tips and I had the Black 'n Blue Wrap w/pasta salad (other choices were chips or fries). Both choices were great and hit the spot. Our salad and wrap were basically the same thing but in a different form and the steak tips were tender and perfectly cooked. They were not he loaded with blue cheese and the Parmesan peppercorn dressing was so tasty. I'm looking forward to eating the other half of my wrap today! The pasta salad was fantastic and I would easily order a whole bowl of that to eat alone. It was flavored with ranch and had bacon in it as well. The menu has a lot of really heavy items (fried picketed, cheddar bacon dip in a bread bowl, burgers), but they have some really good lighter items as well. They also had several specials that sounded very good. This is definitely a place we would recommend stopping at if your out in the area. read more

Hilltop has a refreshing menu that gets updated seasonally and is always delicious! The Pittsburg salad with sweet potato fries and honey lime vinaigrette is my personal favorite, but everything I've had is amazing. Parking can be cramped but the seating inside is appropriately spaced to fit everyone. However! If you try to call them for any reason: to order takeout, find out the soup of the day, ask how long the wait is, inquire about booking them for an event or catering... the phone will be off the hook. They intentionally keep it offline when they get sort of busy, even on a Tuesday night. I would order and go more often if I could count on them to pick up the phone for a simple question. This has happened on more than one occasion. Resolve this issue and I'd likely give them 5 stars. Good luck! read more

I never heard of this but was familiar with the location as I went to the restaurant that was there previous The new owners did a great job updating the food and restaurant We had the shrimp starter with was delicious. It was a little spicy but the coleslaw help curb the heat. For my main I ordered the French dip and sweet potato fries. The food was HOT. They didn't let anything sit and wait. My fries were crisp but fluffy on the outside and the sandwich was so flavorful. The bun toasted perfectly and the roast beef was delicious. The only thing we could find to critique would be the lack of IPA's. It was fine by me as I don't drink them. read more

First I want to say that the food was exquisite! Absolutely everyone loved the food. However, the wait staff that handled our wedding was HORRIBLE! They rushed EVERYTHING. They were taking plates from the bride and from and guests without checking to see if they were done, and also taking plates from guests who were still eating! I was horrified and so angry. They rushed outing out the appetizers where a ton of parole stewed able to have any including me and my husband. When it came to the cake for dessert they cut these incredibly small pieces that were on napkins, NOT plates, and there were NO utensils offered to eat it. So people had to try and eat it with their hands. I mean, I love their food and would recommend it to anyone, but when it comes to special occasions I wouldn't recommend their wait staff AT ALL! Crystal did apologize for what happened, however it still happened and those are the memories we will have about our wedding day and our reception. I was next door at Willowbrook golf course hitting some balls (naturally!) and decided that it was time for dinner and a cold beverages. First off, you can't beat the location. Second, the staff was busy but friendly and on top of it - Justin took care of us and was patient and came to check in often. Started off with a blueberry EBC beer then I went with the Asian inspired short ribs. Fantastic. Loved the bite of the glaze on them. Added a side of the retro Mac n cheese. This place is pretty cozy inside. We went with a group yesterday for dinner. There were 6 of us. The food was pretty good. I got the vegetarian pesto pasta it was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners. The service was definitely meh as our waitress couldn't figure out whose bill belong to who. I really do wish they had more chicken dish options. We love going to eat at Hilltop! They have a dinner for two special going on right now for $33. You get an appetizer to share and two entrees. The chicken and waffles was one of the best we have ever had! The chicken cordon blue was excellent! The salmon was missing some flavor but it was cooked perfectly. I am not a fan of the new change to the short ribs. Usually the ribs are perfectly cooked, lots of meat and very tender. This time all that was still true but the flavor wasn't as good as the old style that was served over mashed potatoes. The service was outstanding! The bartender and waitress were very friendly. Our water glasses stayed filled the entire time and refills came as needed. The food was delicious we got to start with soup and salad. They brought soft bread with delicious butter. My husband had steak and Red potatoes. Cooked perfectly. I had the jalapeno bacon macaroni and cheese. My daughter's had sticky shrimp, chicken cordon blue, and hot wings. There was a lot of food. Enough for everyone to have seconds. The restaurant was clean inside. The sign out front of the restaurant was down so it's easy to miss but they are open. I'm rating only four stars because the wings were overcooked. Hilltop consistently has yummy food and a great rotating specials menu. I've eaten here a handful of times and have never had a bad dish. There are things I've tried that I haven't been head over heals for but not because it was done poorly, just not in-tune with the flavor profiles I like. It's also usually because it's something my husband ordered and not something I would have gotten myself. The meals I have had that did match what I was looking for were on damn point! I've had their soups, salads, wraps, specials, fish, chicken n waffles, chicken wings and dessert. I'm always down to grab some noms from this place. Last June I went on a date with my now boyfriend for the first time. We met up at a local park not far from Hilltop. After a couple of times meeting at the park, we decided to grab something to eat. I went on Yelp and looked up restaurants in the area and Hilltop Restaurant and Bar was the first to pop up. The pictures looked great and it wasn't a far drive. We decided to give it a shot and from that day on, has become a tradition in our relationship. Our first visit was great. Even during Covid, the atmosphere was awesome. Indoor and outdoor seating, a cute area and great service. I love every staff I've interacted with and that's part of the experience here. They had a special going, a 3 item deal for 33 dollars. A literal steal for the amount of food you receive. Cocktails were a great price and then the bread basket came with the homemade butter with different flavors I might add. Delicious! It didn't stop. The appetizers were amazing! A bbq chicken taquito style wrap with an amazing sauce. I am a picky eater but hilltop gets me to try something new every time I show up. Last visit I tried their cheddar jalapeño hush puppies. I could've fainted right there by how amazing they were. My boyfriend and I now have gone a multitude of times. Anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Day, and it's our meeting place since it's halfway between us. The desserts are also a crucial part of what makes this place amazing. My boyfriend and I purposefully save room for the lemon and chocolate cakes. I owe hilltop for the 20 pounds I've gained and it was all worth it! I recommend this spot to almost everyone I know. (I don't need it to get too busy to where I can't come dine in!) All jokes aside, this restaurant has everything. Great food that is new and exciting, great staff, great atmosphere which is family friendly and romantic. I love listening to everyone laughing and enjoying their food. I'm also so happy to go and never want to leave. I have to say whatever it is, please keep it up! See y'all this Wednesday and then in a couple weeks... then a couple weeks after that... oh you get it! My family was looking for a place for a Mother's Day lunch. Last minute planning had the places we were familiar with, sold out for the day. We had two special needs people in our party. Both needed special arrangements for seating as well as food preparation. My husband ran into Hilltop restaurant to see if they could accommodate us. The hostess assured my husband that they could. She immediately came out to great us with a big smile and a hello as she held the door open. We sat at a big booth, table combo in the bar area. This gave us some privacy as well as allowing us to sit our son who is in a large wheelchair at the table. The waitress named Sophia was very friendly. We needed food to be served separately so that we could grind it up for two in our party. The owner came over to make sure they knew exactly what we needed so our oder would be correct. She explained that they could puree the entree in the kitchen to make it easier for us. We had them grind meatloaf, mashed potato, and beef gravy for Earl. We chose to grind sliced roast beef, mashed potato, and beef gravy for Tommy. Both of those meals came with soup or salad that neither of them could have eaten, but Sophia brought them out to the table. My husband had the bake French onion soup, and I had they New England clam chowder. That chowder was honestly as good as the chowder we had in New England. My husband ordered a salad with chicken blueberries and nuts, and my mother in law and I both ordered the lemon chicken that came on top of mashed potatoes with a side of green beans. The portions were large, and the food was EXCELLENT. The owner came over to check on us a few times. She was inviting and very friendly. We ended our meal with a slice of the Creamsicle cheesecake that was to die for! The cost of the dinner ran approximately $25 a person. That's soup, salad, and entree. Multiple issues from start to finish. Waited over an hour for food. Wife's salad had multiple hairs in it and my meal came out as a meal I didn't order. Instead of a discount we were given a second drink we didn't ask for. Now on to the fact they have no interest in following NYS protocol. I waited for over an hour for food and watched the owner tend bar with her mask below her chin as she complained to customers about Cuomo and Biden. When I attempted to have a conversation with her after the meal she told me her mask would stay up no matter how much she tried. I never say an effort to pull it up on her part all night. Many servers had masks well bell their nose including her daughter while they served you. When they went behind bar or in kitchen masks went further down. She was argumentative and not apologetic. We have wanted to try this restaurant ever since it reopened under new management, but it always seemed so busy. Tonight we made it before the dinner rush. We had to wait a little long for our drinks, but that was the only negative of an otherwise stellar dinner. Not only do they provide bread, but they had a raspberry butter made in house that everyone loved. My husband's Hilltop Burger, which included a house made BBQ sauce, was great. One son had a burger and the other had chicken tenders. Portions were generous. I tried barramundi for the first time. It was one of the specials, served over coconut rice and that raspberry butter. So, so good. Sadly they don't appear to offer any local wines. Not only do I like to see local businesses support each other, but there's so many great local wines I like to enjoy with dinner.
