It was my first time coming in, and the girl working was super friendly and helpful. She recommended a drink to go with it, and it ended up being the perfect pairing. Alright Hold Your Grounds…read more I've been coming to this location for like 10 years. I always get the drink special because I appreciate the deal and I like the variety. Coffee is decent, they have nice milk options, the place has nice employees. Lately I've been receiving a half empty cup filled with foam. Today was the worst yet. I scooped off the foam with a spoon to show how empty this cup was. I get it's a drink special, but either charge more if you need to, make it a 12oz special, or just please don't hand me a half empty cup of super concentrated syrup, a shot of coffee and 4 oz of milk.

Being that I live so close the convenience is great. The quality of the coffee is better than a lot of espresso stands around, so even if I wasn't close by I'd go out of my way. The coffee/espresso roast is a well balanced roast. Not bitter or burnt, but nice and strong at the same time. Also, they make a great mocha. ENGLISH TOFFEE LATTE: My husband and I ordered the 16oz of this hot latte with 50% less sweetness (I don't like things overly sweet). I loved my drink! My husband thought his 50% less sweet was still a little too sweet. We would both order this again! We also appreciated how it was $3.50 for our drinks whereas everyone else is charging over $5. I've been coming here for over six years almost entirely because of the vegetarian breakfast tacos…read more They were one of my favorite breakfasts anywhere, loaded with avocado, sprouts, pickled onions, dill, pickled radish, egg, chipotle sauce, and so much flavor. I happily paid around $20 because they genuinely felt special. Today I ordered them like I always do, only to discover after leaving that they've completely changed. They're now just egg, cheese, and chorizo with pickled onions. No one mentioned that they were no longer vegetarian or that the recipe had changed so drastically. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I had no choice but to throw them away, so I ended up wasting $20 on a breakfast I couldn't even eat. I'm honestly really disappointed. I understand menus evolve, but when a longtime menu staple changes this much, especially from vegetarian to meat, it should be communicated clearly when ordering or at least noted prominently on the menu. Beyond that, the new version just doesn't justify the price anymore. It feels like a completely different product, and unfortunately not for the better. This isn't meant to be a harsh review because I've loved Ladder Coffee for years. These tacos were genuinely one of my favorite breakfasts in Spokane, which is why this was so disappointing. I just wish the change had been communicated. Going from a vegetarian taco loaded with fresh ingredients to a chorizo taco is a huge difference, and I would've ordered something else had I known. I hope you'll consider bringing the original version back or offering both options.
