Very well constructed fast food. Occasional consistency issues as expected of a fast food. I've experienced nothing egregious in anyway. It's a very clean establishment. The staff is absolutely polite when you briefly interact with them. It's not cheap, but it's on par with everything currently. read more

Shake Shack Deerfield - Menu - Burgers Near Me - Deerfield, Illinois

I love Shake Shack in Schaumburg and was in the area visiting my brother who tasked me to get his daughter after track... and we both wanted a quick dinner... So I was delighted and surprised that 2 had opened in the area... BUT this one was absolutely horrid on wait time after a failed app took $35 from me and did not send the order... when I arrived inside this tiny location with 3 people... nothing was made... the app did not deliver my order! I had to reorder everything... and for a moment was furious when I was asked for a receipt because the app had not shown it in the history although it took the money from Google Pay instantly. Showed my Google Pay payment to SHAKE SHACK though. Food arrived after 15m waiting JFC and when opened at home... OMG were the saddest most lukewarm tasteless things ever with a 2" leaf of lettuce and sliver of soggy Roma... Where were the onions pickles or peppers and vegetables the guy said were all automatically included... The cheese fries were cold overly cooked and had an unmelted blob of a cube in the corner of the box. Is this why burgers have dropped to $7.99 because I remember them being $9.99... I hope this is a fluke or this place is going to fail otherwise. What trash burgers!!! UPDATED Response to the canned reply from the robotic or AI "manager"... I dont need to email you about how horrid the food or service and app failure was I already explained it in detail... I don't need a free food coupon or whatever for more poop food. The fries were overcooked too. The only decent thing was my ginger ale with no ice... but 16oz for $4 not worth it. read more

Came here for the first time on an early Saturday evening because I did an online order for the first time through the app and got 20% off. I normally only go to the old Orchard location despite the high food tax. Surprisingly came here on an early Saturday evening, and it was almost empty. Food was definitely ready and waiting for pick up on time. Food again high-quality consistency however it was definitely a bit room temperature if not already cold because the cheese for the cheese fries was already hardening. I definitely could've gotten there a few more minutes early however probably just need to either order live or type it out better. The location of this is great because they have a parking lot as well as a drive-through. So parking was not a challenge. Staff here was really nice as well. They even have cornhole outside. I would definitely come back again because the place was clean. It was open less crowded and I happen to get a discount. read more

This location used to be good but recently has gone completely downhill. This is our third order in a row that was completely wrong. 3 burgers two fries $45 all went in the garbage. You are better off staying away. I did email share@shakeshack and got no response. No response calling the manager either. read more

Meh. We were curious. The shakes were really good. The burger was overly salted. The fries were good and crispy. We left full. The dining area is clean. But...this experience cost two people seventy dollars. We entered our own order on a kiosk and our food was brought to our table but we still had to get our own condiments and napkins from a counter. So no, we won't be back. For that kind of money I want more of a dining experience. The food wasn't any better than a basic restaurant or roadside stand. We love a good meal out and are willing to pay for it but do have expectations of value. read more

We stopped in to this location off Deerfield Road. There is a generous lot and it was fairly empty when we arrived before noon. This is an immaculate location, order at the kiosks and they will bring your food and drinks to your table. I ordered the Black Truffle burger. The truffle aroma was immediately discernible when they brought a tray to the table. The patty was thin and nicely crisp and browned at the edges but it was dry. There were French fried onions (French's?), black truffle sauce and Gruyère cheese. They had me at truffle. The cheese, truffle sauce and burger tasted good, but overall it was dry and could have used more sauce, or a slice of tomato. There are also black truffle fries but that would have been overkill. Black truffle items are not supposed to arrive until October 15 (it's the 13th), but maybe I will try it one more time. This location is amazing clean, a little sterile since your human interaction is limited to your food delivery. There are tables outside and a cornhole game to occupy you until the food arrives. read more

HORRIBLE. WORST service, they charge a tip for drive-thru and NEVER mention it. Quality is poor as well. TERRIBLE OPERATOR, go elsewhere.

This is a brand new and mighty fine Shake Shack. We were actually invited by e-mail to be at their soft opening on Thursday April 24 (with their official grand opening on Friday April 25), but a power outage cancelled that event. It was a special event with a 50% discount and an opportunity for invitees to donate goods to the local needy. To their credit, they were quick to notify folks immediately via email so that any unnecessary trips could be avoided. Anyway, the offer was extended to April 30, and we made it in here on the last day of the promotion. They have the usual tasty goods, and the operation was nice and seemless. It's not a particularly large Shake Shack (like Vernon Hill's size as opposed to the larger Schaumburg or Skokie Old Orchard locations), but the space is airy and cozy. They have 4 ordering pads for the customers and also an attendant (a friendly and helpful gal named Jaylu? for our visit) at the main order counter to take your order. We ordered our usual two ShackBurgers and a fries to eat in as well as two shakes to go which they nicely made upon meal completion. The fries were a little overcooked but not a biggie. Welcome to Deerfield and thank you for the grand opening promo! read more

Never a bad meal or experience. Better than most fast food places. The shack burger and chicken shack are my favorite. Recently they added Korean style bbq burgers and chicken. Yum! read more

First time visiting. Went thru drive thru. Ordered a single bacon cheeseburger. A patty, 2 strips of bacon & cheese on a bun....no mayo, or other condiments. Husband got a double meal....total cost over $30 for a mediocre at best burger...won't be going back. Don't waste your $$. read more

Large parking area, very good food, double burger delicious, crispy crinkle cut fries taste excellent, wine is a bonus, and shakes delicious. The price is a little higher than the competition but it also taste better than the competition. Very good service and clean atmosphere. read more

The food is good, but service is very slow. Food is never ready at the promised time and can be 30 minutes late. Last time I waited to pick up until I got a text saying the food was nearly ready. I guess they cleared the order out of their system even when it wasn't ready. I ended up waiting an extra 20+ minutes. The restaurant seems chronically understaffed. I avoid this location and go out of my way to the Rt. 60 location, which is cleaner and faster. read more

Shake shack has always been a bit of a miss for me because their shakes are not as good at other spots. They tend to be very liquidy. This one is a new location that opened recently near us so we went and gave it a second chance. The burgers are decent 7/10 I would say and fries are 8/10 for being able to have a nice crisp. Would've love to be able to refill my own soda though! The service was good. It was very crowded and the space is not really enough for those who want to dine in. It was a bit disorganized trying to get orders in with both kiosks and employees. It was hard for them to find us which resulted in employees yelling out names. read more

Shake Shack Deerfield - Fries, shackburger, and shack avocado burger - Burgers Near Me - Deerfield, Illinois

New location in Deerfield. Inside there is decent amount of seating along with a small patio area with 4-5 tables. They just opened last week and so there was a few kinks to work out understandable as we went at dinner time around 5:45pm during the week. Ordered the smokeshack, fries, cookies and cream as well as vanilla shake. The burgers are of smaller portions but the quality and flavor are quite good. They use a potato bun which is quite soft and fluffy with a slight sweetness to it. The sauce had a nice tang to it and the cherry peppers added a hint of heat which was nice. The cheese was a great texture of being melted which many times burgers don't have. The meat itself was very flavorful and was not greasy at all. Overall it was a great burger though on the smaller size. Crinkle cut fries were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were well salted without being overall salted. The milkshakes had a great consistency where the ice cream was thick but it had some melted edges which you could still drink it thru a straw. The vanilla could use a stronger vanilla flavor but the cookies and cream had good amount of cookies blended into it for that Oreo flavor. read more

I am surprised to see Shake Shack with a 3.1 star average. I stopped by today and had a positive experience. I had never been to a Shake Shack before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I found the restaurant to be clean and modern with meals ordered at a kiosk. The food was good and it was brought to my table quickly, and there was plenty of seating. Outside, the restaurant had plenty of parking and also had some outside seating. My only real complaint is that I thought it was pretty expensive. I had an avocado bacon burger ($10.29), cheese fries ($5.49), and a strawberry shake ($6.29). To me, $22 (excluding tax and tip) for my meal seemed a bit expensive. I am kind of surprised that each item has to be purchased a la carte and you don't get any sort of discount for buying a "combo meal" when you bundle multiple items together. read more

Shake Shack Deerfield - Burgers Near Me - Deerfield, Illinois

I've had some challenges with placing orders at this location (though I'm not sure if it's universal). I came on one of their sandwich deal days (get a burger free with $10+ purchase), meaning to pay with a gift card. However, I found out after a lot of back and forth with staff that you can't use gift cards at the order kiosks, so you had to order with someone at the register. However, when we used the register, the staff were not able to enter in any sandwich deal promo codes. They then referred me to ordering online, but that had repetitive errors whenever trying to enter the gift cards, and when the order finally went through, the staff at the restaurant did not see the order on their end, but the gift card value had been charged. It took about 30 minutes to sort this out with them, and by then the rest of my friends had long finished their meal. The staff were apologetic, which I appreciated, but it did discourage me from purchasing gift cards from them in the future given how complicated it became. Food-wise, the burgers are tasty, though it's a bit pricey for the portion size you get. The fries are nice and crispy and salted just right. The cookies & cream milkshake is where it's at, so would recommend that. Overall, tough experience for what should have been a pretty quick meal. read more

I go here for lunch often and they continue get my order wrong. Today I went through the drive through and I got someone else food. What a disaster...wanted to have a good experience here, but the staff is incompetent. I ordered my food through the kiosk, took a number and sat at the table. I waited as people who arrived after me received their food, I waited 30 minutes precisely and then walked up to the counter to question where my order was, the staff looked clueless said my name and order was never placed. I had to pull up my credit card transactions to show them proof of payment ..It then took them 10 more minutes to find my order, was told my order was given to someone else... took another 15 minutes for them to remake my order!!!!! The manager did give me a credit but still a huge waste of time. The food is mediocre at best-staff needs more training! Won't be back. My friends and I stopped at Shake Shack during a road trip, eager to try it for the first time after hearing great things. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed. The prices were high, which is somewhat expected near Chicago, but the food quality was lacking. I ordered a plain grilled cheese and received what resembled a pancake with two slices of barely melted cheese. This, along with a small order of fries ($6) and a shake ($8), cost me nearly $20. I ordered at the kiosk and seated myself at one of the few clean tables. When my food was delivered, the server was visibly upset and practically slammed the tray down. Despite this, a minimum tip of 10% was suggested. Before leaving, we used the restroom and found two employees smoking pot, quite openly, and without washing their hands. I will never return to this overpriced McDonald's. read more

Shake Shack Deerfield - Burgers Near Me - Deerfield, Illinois

It's nice to have some new options around Deerfield but at the end of the day, it's just a Shake Shack. The service was good and food came out fresh and hot. But it was a hassle to figure out the deals being offered - ordering on the app, kiosk, and with a staff member all yielded different results. The burgers were as expected from any other Shake Shack. Definitely a step up from the other fast food option down the street but not really something we'd go out of the way for. read more

The food here has been consistently good on my 4 visits here. The service has been consistently poor. I routinely receive a text saying my food is done and then have to wait another 5-10 minutes for them to bring me the food. Tonight I went up to the counter after 4 minutes of waiting for them to bring out my take out order and then I waited another 4-5 minutes at the counter. This was at 8:30pm and there was only one table if customers there snd no one I. The drive thru during my entire wait. There seems to be no management and no training. The person handing me the food always looks like he is doing me a favor, never smiles, or says thanks. This "attitude" of the servers has consistently been that they "just don't care" on all 3 of my other visits as well. This should be an easy fix - find someone to manage this location. read more

UPDATE: Shake Shack reached out with a promotion asking us to try them again. Seems their customer service dynamic tries to stay on top of bad experiences and reviews. Nice touch. We were excited to try Shake Shake. The person taking orders sounded like she wanted to be anywhere else. Trying to figure out our order was painful. Sounding miserable/frustrated she finally finished and was a complete turn-off. We pulled up and got our order which was missing a shake. We were asked to pull into a waiting space and five minutes later our $6 soft-serve shake came out. No great shakes at all. We ordered veggie burgers which had a nice flavor & texture, like a burger with nice toppings and a soft bun. The sandwich was so small I knew we'd have to make something else back home. Michael's Hot Dogs in HP has a real veggie burger so we'll likely never darken SS drive-through again. We try to eat as healthily as possible and this was basically to say hello & support a nascent business in the area. Given the cost: size, the malt that tasted like DQ fare, and that painful experience placing the order I cannot recommend Shake Shack. "Thanks For Swinging' By." read more

Shake Shack Deerfield - Still waiting - Burgers Near Me - Deerfield, Illinois

Shake Shack's recent arrival left me with a mixed bag of impressions. Walking in, the atmosphere seemed relatively clean, with tables largely devoid of noticeable trash, although a few had wet or oily spots. The food, while not reaching culinary heights, was somewhat on the salty side, which was a bit expected given the fast-food nature of the establishment. One notable letdown was the absence of dairy-free milkshakes, which I was informed weren't available yet. This left me wondering what the delay was about. Despite this disappointment, the staff members were friendly and accommodating, which definitely added to the overall experience. One aspect that stood out was the smaller size of this location compared to others I've visited. While it didn't detract significantly from the experience, it was noticeable. On the brighter side, the outdoor bag toss game was a nice touch, offering a fun diversion while waiting or enjoying the meal. Overall, while Shake Shack's new spot has some room for improvement, particularly in getting all of their menu options going, it still manages to deliver a decent fast-food experience with a welcoming ambiance and friendly service. read more

Food is decent but overpriced. I think the (also expensive) shakes are outstanding--don't understand the negative comments by some. AVOID THIS PLACE! Wife and I went to it for the first (and last) time. I was going to give it a 2 out of 5 because the burger was acceptable...not good, just acceptable. It was over cooked till it was burned black around the edges. Still the rest of the burger was OK. However, our single burgers were pricey at $10.29 and $8.99 each when, in reality, Culver's, Wendy's, Steak 'n Shake and even McDonalds provide better tasting burgers at as much as half the price as Shake Shack. Next, my wife had a chocolate shake. (I had a glass of water.) It came in what would be called a medium size cup at most places yet it cost $6.29. The cashier asked if she wanted whipped cream so she said sure. Turns out that whipped cream is a $.49 extra but we did not find this out till we looked at the bill later. Wife said it tasted OK but no better than McDonalds soft serve milk shake. So, in total, the bill was $28.41 for two single burgers and a shake! WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than expected or what we have paid at a Culver's, Wendy's, etc. But that is not all! When I got home, I looked at the receipt and realized I had also been charged $3.91 for a tip!! No idea where that came from. I called the manager and left a message but, as expected, never heard from them. Bottom line: This is a money-grubbing operation that nickel and dimes you for lower quality food. It sneaks in tips on its bills and fails to respond to customer comments. Do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more
