Shake Shack is located in Delta's Terminal A. You can place your order at two available kiosks or with an employee. I placed my order for a double cheeseburger at the kiosk. It took a while to get the food probably like 15 minutes. The burger was delicious though and worth the wait. There's no seating available so I went to the food court or you could also try eating at your gate. Condiments are behind the counter and an employee can get it for you. Fries are dry as hell and skimpy as F for $6 per serving. Burgers not stacked well, always ends up with soggy buns after a few bites. March 4 2026 Burgers were placed in a sleeve and thrown into the bag on top of the cold fries because they Set about 25 at a time with no heat lamp. I give this Shake Shack 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. It *is* nice there is an airport location. We had an early afternoon flight out of Concourse A at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, so I decided to show up early to grab lunch for us at this Shake Shack located near Gate A28. I've been to several Shake Shack locations over the years and I'm a fan of this chain. While I don't think the food at this Shake Shack is as good as the non-airport locations I've been to, it's close enough and worth a visit if you're in the mood for a yummy burger. Unsurprisingly, the menu here is more limited than a non-airport location. For example, there are less burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries to choose from. Specifically, during my visit, this location did not have items like the Hot Ones Burger, Grilled Cheese (sandwich), Avocado Bacon Chicken (sandwich), and Bacon Cheese Fries on the menu. There's still enough to choose from, though. My wife got a ShackBurger ($7.35), I got a ShackStack ($13.10), and we split an order of fries ($3.75). We also got two cups of water (free). After tax, this worked out to $26.14. The ShackBurger is an Angus beef cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. The Shack Stack is like a combination of the ShackBurger and 'Shroom Burger. In other words, it's a ShackBurger where the beef patty and cheese is topped with a deep-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted Muenster and cheddar cheeses inside. The burgers were well-made, hot, fresh, rich, and tasty. Good-quality ingredients all around. The beef patties were thick and juicy. The melted cheeses made the burgers quite heavy and filling, especially the Shack Stack. The fries were standard, satisfactory crinkle-cut fries. This Shake Shack doesn't have any dedicated seating. It's just a counter. I took our order to the food court common area tables in the center of the concourse and we sat and ate there. The staff boxed, bagged, and packed everything up nicely so there was no mess. Our clear cups of water, with snap-shut lids and straws, were placed in an unfoldable cup holder with a handle. We also got plenty of packets of Heinz ketchup and mustard. In general, I thought the service was good. The two employees I interacted with were polite and efficient. The server name printed on my receipt was Taitu N. The burgers were made-to-order. At the register, the cashier warned me ahead of time and said there would be an approximate 10-minute wait (if I recall correctly). The line/wait wasn't bad for me. I'm pretty sure I received my order in less than 10 minutes. This Shake Shack opened on September 25, 2018. It was the third Shake Shack to open in metro Atlanta. My plane arrived and I had 15 minutes before my transfer flight was boarding in the next terminal over I had been up since 6 a.m. and hadn't eaten all day and it was already 3:30 p.m. so I risked it and ordered Shake Shack. There was a line of people waiting to receive their food and it took about 10 minutes for my order to come out. Then I ran to the underground tram, then I ran to my gate and made it there about 5 minutes after boarding had already started. Yes, made it! Shack Stack (Cheeseburger topped with a 'Shroom Burger with lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce) + Bacon - Yup, I went for the ultimate here, because I had never tried there burger + portabello mushroom patty. The burger is thick as thick (you like that?) and was prepared correctly without any missing items. The Shack Stack is good, but I can't say that I love it better ShackBurger or SmokeShack. The breaded and deep fried portabello patty didn't have any special flavor and turned out kind of gooey inside, which must be from the cheese they stuff inside. The bacon is thin cut but crisp. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I recommend it over the other burgers they offer? No. Just pick the burger that sounds best to you. Crinkle Cut Fries - Shake Shack's Crinkle Cut Fries are different from other places because their ridges are cut thinner and sharper than the average one you see at other places. I love them. I didn't get to check my order until I was seated on the plane, but they did good because everything I ordered was there. Nothing was missing and it tasted great. I do think the airport location could use a couple of more staff. It would speed things up a bit and the help out the existing staff which looked overworked. Tried to order at 8:40pm on a Sunday evening. They close at 9:00pm. I was told they've already started cleaning the grill and fryers to no burgers or chicken sandwiches were available. I ordered fries and a shake and was told they've already started cleaning the shake machine, so I ended up ordering a burger and a bottle of water. I waited eight minutes and went to the pick up counter, and politely stated that my flight was about to depart and asked if I could pick up my fries and bottle of water - there were fries sitting under the warmer visible to all of the customers. I interacted with 3 different employees and all of them were blunt and rude and the last one ever scoffed at me when I responded "yes please" to her snotty "ketchup?" They let my moms burger and fries sit for over ten minutes and before they bagged it I requested fresh food since we had been waiting well over fifteen minutes and since we were already waiting we wanted fresh food. The manager angrily says we'll the grease has been cleaned so you're not getting fries and was very rude as she communicated that the cook would drop another burger but you could tell none of them wanted to do it. So they gave it to us like this. The fries were ice cold and hard. My dog would break his teeth trying to snack on that. Ew. Then everyone was back there cursing and complaining. Ok, it might sound sill that a fast food franchise changed my life...BUT IT DID :) I'm a midwestern gal who has never had Shake Shack. Clearly, time in ATL airport requires food, and a burger sounded good. The Yelp reviews said to go for the portabello burger, so I decided to give it a chance. It said it had a mix of delicious (but I forget what) cheeses, but I did not realize that THE CHEESE WAS INSIDE THE FRIED PORTABELLO. Omg, I bit into it, and gooey amazing cheese spilled out like a glorious lactose-a-riffic waterfall. I was not expecting that. Also, it kinda burned my tongue, but was so delicious I didn't care. The chocolate shake, of course, was also amazing. Apparently Shake Shake is coming to the Indianapolis Airport and I REALLY will need to go on more flights in order to get my fix. read more

I had a little time to kill but also needed to grab some food before boarding time. Lucky me that my gate just happened to be across from this Shake Shack. It was meant to be. There was a slight line but overall, ordering and getting my burger probably took about 10 minutes tops. The single Shackburger was only slightly pricier than what I've seen in stores. What I used to think was expensive at the standalone store is now a cheap cost for the airport, lol. The burger patty itself wasn't as crispy as the burgers I've had at Shake Shack, but it wasn't dry and tasted pretty similar. Overall, I'm not mad at the Shake Shack at the airport. Rather, I find it to be a great alternative to some of the other dining options in the concourse. read more

I occasionally grab dinner at this Shake Shack location when I'm flying through Atlanta. I really enjoy Shake Shack in general, and this location offers up the same quality food you could expect from any other. This location isn't always the cleanest out front, but I think that has more to do with patrons hurrying to grab items as they rush around for flights, so you may often see straws, napkins, etc. lying around. I've never had to wait too long for an order here, even when there's a line. So, overall I think the service is pretty good. If you're in the airport and looking for a quick and easy meal, or you're craving a fast food burger, this Shake Shack is a great place to go! read more

Y'all, I have a confession to make, I never had Shake Shack before. I know what you are thinking, "Why would your first try be in an airport?" See, in Pittsburgh, Shake Shack doesn't exist just yet, we don't even get advertisements unlike other businesses. Although I was partaking for the first time I had an understanding of how to order and what to get. Even though they were busy they kept it moving at a quick pace. Orders were going out as fast as they were coming in. I liked the fact that you didn't have to wait for your full order. I had ordered the single ShackBurger. Fairly straightforward cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Not sure what composes ShackSauce, but it was subtle. The burger patty had a nice fresh taste and some crust to it. It honestly hit the spot. I was surprised by the fries as well. There are people out there that enjoy crinkle cut fries and then there are those that don't. I'm one that teeters between the two. Sometimes crinkle cut fries can be heavy, sometimes they can be measly, somehow they were able to make the perfect crinkle cut fry. I devoured those fries after I finished off the burger. Over all, I ended up being a fan. I know it's a chain, but it's one that I would revisit, given the chance. read more

I have always heard of this place, so this is my first time trying their burger ordered a double smoke shack and some fries. The burger was great however my double was more like 1 patty and a partial piece of another patty! But being at the airport for several hours in between flights I was too tired to complain and get back in line! Eating Cheeze-its on board those Delta 737's for 8 hours.
